Hamilton, Doreen
New Democrat MLA, Regina Wascana Plains

Doreen Hamilton attended the University of Regina, Faculty of Education. Her first teaching position was in Southey, Saskatchewan.

Ms. Hamilton served six years as a Regina City Councillor. During that time, she was Chairperson of the Mayor's Task Force on Women's Issues, a member of the Mayor's Board of Inquiry on Hunger, and served as Interim Mayor of Regina.

She is active in her community and has served on the local community association. She is a member of Broadway United Church.

Doreen Hamilton was first elected in 1991 and re-elected in 1995. She has served on the Crown Corporations Committee and the Regulations Committee of the Legislative Assembly. She has served as chair of the Government Caucus Education and Municipal Government Committee. She is Chair of the Local Government and Fiscal Policy Committee.
