Born in Glace Bay, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Margaret (Merlin) Bourgeois. She was a member of Saint Paul the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, River Hebert, and was a former member of the parish council. She was a life member and past president of the CWL. Surviving are daughters, Yvonne Devine, Moncton; Diane (Mrs. Ralph Lewis), River Hebert; Barbara (Mrs. Dwayne Cleveland), Amherst; Marie "Faye" Patterson, Vancouver Island, B.C.; sons, Fred, Embrun, Ont.; Joseph, Hamilton; sister, Florence Bates, Boston, Mass.; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her first husband, Samuel MacQueen; second husband, Alfred Burke; sons, Michael, Francis; sisters, Clarice Baker, Mae MacLellan, Ethel Devison; brothers, Joseph, Francis, Edgar, Charles, Daniel. COLPITTS, Jessie Kathryn - 89, Fox River, Cumberland Co., died February 13, 1999, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in Fox River, she was a daughter of the late Ross and Catherine (Yorke) Graham. She was a graduate of Truro Normal College, and taught school for more than 30 years throughout Cumberland County. Surviving are her husband, Clayton; daughters, Gayle (Mrs. Terry Shaw), Coquitlam, B.C.; Judy (Mrs. George Wheaton), Port Greville; Shirley (Mrs. Michael Kuryluk), Lower Sackville; sisters, Mrs. Barbara Bishop, Okotoks, Alberta; Mrs. Ethel Gaw, Reading, Mass.; Frances (Mrs. Bernard Bennett), Fox River; brother, Keith, Fox River; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren. Herrett, David Arthur - 61, 152 Victoria St., Springhill, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in All Saints Hospital, Springhill. Born in Springhill, he was a son of the late Arthur Wesley and Muriel (Doyle) Herrett. He was a member of the Springhill United Baptist Church, former Church Choir member and served on various church committees; member and Past Chancellor of Cumberland Lodge 5 Knights of Pythias; member of Pythian Star Temple 8 Pythian Sisters and a member of the SPEBSQSA. He worked 35 years with Corrections Canada in Dorchester, N.B. and Springhill Institutions and was involved with the Employees Assistant Program in the Institution. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, curling, fishing and his family. He is survived by his wife, the former Carolyn Angus; son, Greg (Wanda), Springhill; daughters, Lori (Andrew) Power, Michelle, all of Springhill; grandchildren, Brittany and Wesley Herrett and Megan Power, all of Springhill; sisters, Arlene (Wayne) Fisher, Hilden, Colchester Co.; Marion (Robert) MacDonald, Springhill; four nephews. He was predeceased by an infant brother, Leonard Borden Herrett. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. Visitations will be held 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today, in A.H. Brown Funeral Home, Springhill. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, April 27, in United Baptist Church, Springhill, Rev. MATHESON, Mrs. Nina May - 65, Williamsdale, Cumberland Co., died Friday, January 14, 2000, at home. Born in North Greenville, Cumberland Co., she was a daughter of the late H. Bradford and Anna B. "Annie" (Dykens) Higgins. She was an adherent of the Millvale United Baptist Church, Millvale. Following her husband's passing, she continued to operate the family farm and blueberry growing operation until the time of her passing. Surviving are son, Colin L.B. Matheson, at home; sisters, Mrs. Isee B. Lloy, Oxford; Margaret H.L. "Margie" and husband Gordon Smith, Pugwash; brothers, W. Bert Higgins and wife Irene, Oxford; Jerry A.B. Higgins, Fort St. John, B.C.; Elmer P.V. Higgins and wife Karen, Dartmouth; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband, Leroy V. "Roy" Matheson in 1990; brother-in-law, Hance A. Lloy. Visitation will be Tuesday afternoon and Tuesday evening in Allen's Funeral Home, 60 Water St., Oxford. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, from Millvale United Baptist Church, Pastor Richard Hovey officiating. Burial will take place in the Millvale United Cemetery. CAMERON, John Jordan Robert - Bayhead, Colchester Co., passed away March 4, 2000, in Lillian Fraser Memorial Hospital, Tatamagouche. Born in Halifax, he was the infant son of Debra MacNutt and John Cameron, Tatamagouche. Surviving are sisters, Jenna and Jessica; brother, Devon, all at home; maternal grandfather, Gary Angevine and companion Judy Fisher, Colbec, Cumberland Co.; maternal grandmother, Thelda Angevine (Patriquin) and companion Charles Fortune, Lyons Brook, Pictou Co.; paternal grandparents, Aubrey and Dorothy (Roberts) Cameron, Tatamagouche; maternal great-grandparents, Lambert and Jean Patriquin, Pugwash; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by half-brother, Nathan. A private family service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Oxford. She worked for the Royal Bank in Halifax for many years retiring to Wolfville in 1973. She was an avid fiddler and belonged to several groups who entertained regularly in the community. Surviving are sister, Bernice Black, Windsor; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Roy, Logan, Avard; sisters, Julia, Mary, Ava, Lucy. REID, Dorothy Irene - 82, Gulf Shore, Cumberland Co., passed away April 21, 1999, in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital, Pugwash. Born in Belmont, she was a daughter of the late Martin and Viola (Madill) O'Connell. She was a graduate of Normal College in Truro and began a teaching career that spanned a total of 35 years. She taught school in Pugwash and surrounding areas and was principle of Pugwash Elementary School for a total of 16 years. She was an adherent of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Pugwash, and a member of the Presbyterian Ladies Aid. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and reading. Surviving are daughters, Carol Reid, Charlottetown; Marilyn and husband Ron Grinham, Bedford; Linda and husband Walter Sommerfeldt, Freelton, ont.; son, Peter and wife Diane, Gulf Shore; grandchildren Stephen, Carmen, Tracey, Chris, Craig, Peter Jr., Mark, Roxanne; great-grandchildren, Rianne, Evan; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Peter; a sister, Frances; brother, Frank. Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. today, funeral service 2 p.m. Friday, both in Mundle's Funeral Home, Pugwash, Rev. H. Born in Dartmouth, she was a daughter of the late Sidney and Sarah Agnes (Ernst) Conrod. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She is survived by daughter, Ella (Mrs. Howard Welch), Bass River; sons, Donald, Tatamagouche; Charles, Ontario; stepdaughters, Pauline (Mrs. Reg Bullock), Hants County; Shirley (Mrs. Dave Irving), Bridgetown; Marion (Mrs. Carmen Ehler), Antigonish Co.; stepson, Weldon, Annapolis Co.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, William Calvin; sisters, Bertha, Willamina, Frances; brothers, Arthur, Charles, Edward, Willie in infancy; stepdaughters, Gloria, Patricia, Dolly; stepson, William. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m., followed by funeral service at 2 p.m., both in Mattatall Funeral Home, GreatVillage, Rev.
