George Wellington Veino
Oct. 20, 1899 - June 29, 1952
The family and friends of George W. Veino were shocked to hear of his sudden passing at his home in Somerville, Mass, on June 29th, at the age of 52 years. He was the son of Mrs. Hibbert Veinot and the late Mr. Veinot of Blockhouse. Mourning the loss of a devoted husband and father, are his wife, the former Grace Boehner of Martin's River, N.S. Two sons, Earl in the American Army; Donald; and one daughter Evelyn ay home.
Also his mother, four brothers and four sisters, Robert, Hantsport; John, Cambridge, Mass; Harry and James, Blockhouse; Mrs. Charles Joudrey (Edith), Fauxbourg; Mrs. Harold Langille (Ida), Northwest; Mrs. Fred Begin (Gertie), New York; and Pauline on the teaching staff of the Lunenburg Academy. The funeral will be held from St. Martin's Church of England, Martin's River, on Saturday afternoon, July 5th.

VEINOT, James L. - 85, Mahone Bay, died Sunday at home. Born in Blockhouse, Lunenburg County, he was a son of the late Hibbert and Minetta (Silver) Veinot. He was a veteran of the Second World War, serving overseas with the West Nova Scotia Regiment. He was a life member and past president of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 49, Mahone Bay. He was also a member of St. James Anglican Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Carey Hiltz-Bailey; two stepdaughters, Miriam Jean ( Mrs. Paul Tanner), Oakland; Mary Ann ( Mrs. Donald Smith), Bridgewater; a sister, Pauline, Blockhouse; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by three sisters, Gerie, Ida, Edith; four brothers, John, George, Robert, Harry. The body is in Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay, visiting 2-9 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, St. James Anglican Church, Mahone Bay, Rev. Rod Gillis officiating. Burial in Garden of Rest Cemetery, Blockhouse. Donations may be made to any charity.
