WILSON, Fernie M. - 77, Halifax, passed February 4, 2005, in Northwood Care Incorporated, Halifax. Born in Goldboro, Guysborough Co., she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mona Smith. Fernie worked for Revenue Canada, then for Maritime Tel & Tel in the stock transfer office. She enjoyed needlepoint and all other types of crafts. Fernie was the last member of her immediate family. Surviving are her husband of 52 years, Walter; many nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be on Tuesday, February 8, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Memorial service will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home, Rev. John Wilton officiating. Reception to follow. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in Fernie's memory can be made to a charity of choice.

MOSHER, Cyril Arthur - 83, Halifax. It is with deepest sorrow that the family of Cyril Mosher, announce his passing on February 13, 2005, in Glades Lodge. Born in Halifax, March 11, 1921, he was a son of the late Lemual Arthur and Edith Maude (Backman) Mosher. He was retired after 37 years of service with HMC Dockyard. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of St. Mark's. He was a dedicated husband and wonderful father and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean Evelyn (Nickerson) Mosher; daughter, Carol (Jerry) Slaunwhite, Lower Sackville; sons, Alan (Elaine), Halifax; Barry (Chris), White's Lake; grandchildren, Wendy (Jason) Studley, Lower Sackville; Jeffrey, White's Lake; sister, Dorothy (Mosher) Laverdure, and brother, Gerald A., both of Halifax; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. Family will receive relatives and friends from 2-4 p.m. Wednesday, February 16, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Private burial will take place at a later date in Oakridge Memorial Gardens, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only. Donations in memory to a charity of choice.

BLACKLER (Mitchell), Helen - 82, Bayside, passed away suddenly, surrounded by her loving family on Monday, January 24, 2005, at the home of her daughter. Born June 9, 1922, in Newcastle, N.B., she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Alma (Hollett) Mitchell. Helen retired from the county of Halifax after many years of service at their office on Dutch Village Road. Helen is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Wilfred Gordon; daughter, Cassandra and son-in-law, David Ernst, Bayside; grandsons, Matthew, Nathan; sister, Kathleen Power, Lower Sackville. She was predeceased by sisters, Theresa McGrath, Jenny Doucette; brothers, Nicholas and George Mitchell. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, Halifax. Cremation has taken place. Notification of memorial service and interment will be announced at a later date. Donations in Helen's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice. Cassandra and her family are comforted and appreciative of the outpouring of condolences from family and friends.

MacLELLAND, M. Gladys - 91, Halifax, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving children on Thursday, January 27, 2005, at her home. Born December 8, 1913, in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Ferguson and Margaret (White) Flemming. Gladys enjoyed many years with Oxford Street United Church. Her involvement with the UCW saw her contributing her sewing and handcraft skills on many fundraising occasions. She was a life member of the Grace Hospital Auxiliary where she particularly enjoyed the hospital Stork Shop. Over her lifetime, she spent many summers at her Portuguese Cove cottage. She was an avid bridge player, loved to cook and share her home, and was happiest when surrounded by her cherished family and friends. Gladys is survived by her daughters, Jean Copeland, Ottawa; Cathy Morrison, Halifax; son, Robert, Halifax; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Gordon; sisters, Mildred Lohnes, Isobel in infancy; brothers, Norbert, Kenneth, Clary, Cecil, Richard. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Monday. A private family interment will be held at a later date in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Lower Sackville. Family flowers only. CHEESEMAN, Winston Wayne "Butch" - 57, Timberlea, passed away suddenly Monday, January 24, 2005, at home. Born June 21, 1947, in Lakeside, he was a son of the late Douglas and Agnes (Downey) Cheeseman. Butch worked with the IBEW his entire career, predominately with Dawco and Ainsworth Atlantic until his retirement. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed baseball and bowling. Butch was a loving husband, great father and friend to all. He will be greatly missed and is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, the former Roberta Anne Keeping; sons, Christopher "Chris" (Lori), Halifax; Michael (Carla), Timberlea; his grandson, Nolan (six months); numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Ashley. Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where the family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday in Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Lakeside, Father Jim Richards officiating. WHITE, Marie Yvette - Passed away peacefully in Saint Vincent's Guest House, Halifax, on December 11, 2004. Born on January 3, 1915, Marie Yvette was a daughter of Samuel and Delia Levac of Saint Bernardin, Ont. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Erice White; sisters, Anne Cadieux, Rosemarie Klamm, Simone Aaron; brothers, Leo Levac, Paul Levac, and Hector Levac. Surviving are sisters, Bea DeVito, Los Angeles, Calif.; Anita Levac, Doiron, Que.; daughter, Rosemary (Dieter Neu), Halifax; son, John B. (Marilee Stickles), Grimsby, Ont.; grandchildren, Michael and Rebecca Neu, Kevin and Kayla White. Marie Yvette was always devoted to home and family. Her love, encouragement and support will be forever appreciated and remembered, as will her great love of reading. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Lloyd O'Neill at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 14, in St. Agnes Church, 6903 Mumford Rd., Halifax. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and a good friend to many. He is survived by his beloved wife, the former Lorraine Frances Landry; sons, Gordon Jr. (Karen), Halifax; Thomas, Cole Harbour; Blair (Valerie), Halifax; daughter, Cindy, at home; grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Robert, Megan, Jeremy and Emily; brothers, Thomas, Halifax; Warren, Moncton, N.B.; several cousins.
