Edmund Saxton Lamont
LAMONT, Edmund Saxton - 56, Herring Cove, died February 2, 2003, in the New Halifax Infirmary, QEII. Born in Pittsfield, Mass., he was a son of the late Edmund and Margaret (Campbell) Lamont.
He was an ex-merchant seafarer, travelling extensively all over the world. He was a devoted family man and was very proud of his two daughters and their achievements. He was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with the family pets, especially his cat "Kitty".
Surviving are his wife, Maggie; daughters, Esme and Rowen, both at home; sisters, Jean Campbell-Kerrigan, Crystal Lake, Ill.; Beth Mitchell, Ottawa.
He was predeceased by his brother, Duncan. At his request, cremation has taken place and his ashes will be scattered at sea.
A memorial service will take place 2 p.m. Saturday, February 15, in St. James Anglican Church, Herring Cove, Rev. Liz Earley officiating.

Amber Quinn Adams
ADAMS, Amber Quinn - A special gem born in Halifax on December 4, 1983, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 4, 2003. Amber was a grade 12 student at Auburn Drive High School, Cole Harbour.
Her interests included the welfare and lives of her friends, fellow patients and extended families. She loved children and spent many good times baby-sitting and sharing with her young cousins. Amber loved life and was a great confidante to all. In spite of her illness, she always greeted family and friends with her cute, cheeky smile and light pat on the back (which she called a hug).
Amber is survived by her loving parents, Paul and Star, Dartmouth; sister, Latonya "Sissy", Dartmouth; brother, Paul Jr. "Poppa", at home; niece, Na'Taya "Taisy", Dartmouth; maternal grandparents, Shelia Ewing "Nana", East Preston, and Fulton Ewing "Puppy", Dartmouth; paternal grandparents, June Harris "Nanny", Dartmouth; Edgar Adams "Grandfather Adams", Montreal; Marvin and Shelia States "Nanny and Pops", Dartmouth; great-grandmothers, Dorothy Slawter "Momma", East Preston; Vinnell Robinson "Gran-Gran", Jamaica; Florence Simmonds, North Preston. Amber is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth, where visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Friday. A memorial service will be held during the 7-9 p.m. visitation. Her home going celebration will be held 3 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Dr. Lionel Moriah and Rev. Glen Gray officiating. Burial will be in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive relatives and friends at a reception to be held in the funeral home.

Eileen Mary McKinnon
McKINNON, Eileen Mary - 76, Lower Sackville, passed away February 3, 2003, in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in St. John's, NL, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (Hayes) Hayes.
Eileen loved her bingo, knitting, travel, enjoyed life to the fullest and being with her grandchildren; great-grandchildren.
Surviving are sons, Robert (Sandra), Wilmot; Kevin (Yvonne), Westphall; daughter, Deborah (Vernon) Hiltz, Lower Sackville; brother, Richard (Nellie) Hayes, St. John's, NL; sister, Bernadette (Stanley) Lamrock, Villagedale, Shelburne Co.; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Maxwell; son, Ernest; brothers, John and Michael; sister, Kathleen.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday in St. Clements Church, Gaston Road, Dartmouth, Father Robert Floyd officiating. Reception to follow. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Sackville.

Bertha "Lois" Squires
SQUIRES, Bertha "Lois" - 81, passed away February 2, 2003.
She is survived by her sons, Barry, Randy and Roy; daughters, Susan and Sandra; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Clarence Victor; daughters, Carol and Joann.

Christina "Tina" Creelman-Girard
CREELMAN-GIRARD, Christina "Tina" - 33, Halifax, passed away peacefully in QEII Health Sciences Centre, February 4, 2003.
Tina was in the midst of completing her air force training in St. Jean, Que., where she had planned to pursue a career in the Canadian Air Force Some of Tina's life accomplishments included receiving her bachelor degree in education from St. Mary's University. Tina was also an avid player for the St. Mary's Women's Basketball Team for many years. Before making a career move to the Canadian Air Force, Tina was an O/S aboard the HMCS Fredericton. During this short time, Tina was able to see many beautiful places in this world. Places she always said she was grateful to have been able to see. She was the beloved daughter of William "Bill" and Marian Creelman, Halifax.
Tina will be dearly remembered by her husband, Robin Girard; sister, Carolann (Mrs. Grant Milligan), Porters Lake; brother, Darrell (Kathy) Creelman, Lower Sackville; sister, Tanya (Mrs. Paul Atkinson), Springhill; nieces, Carleigh Milligan, Chelsea Atkinson; nephew, Michael Creelman, will sadly miss their Auntie Tina. Tina is also survived by her biological mother, Elaine MacDonald and biological sister, Tanya Myra; brother, Brent Taylor; grandparents, George and Vera MacDonald; aunts, uncles; niece, Emma.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Thursday, funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, February 7, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. Burial to follow in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.

Evelyn Pearl Gryson
GRYSON, Evelyn Pearl - 94, Lower Sackville, died February 3, 2003, in Armview Estates. Born in Bridgewater, she was a daughter of the late Spurgeon and Lois (Dorey) Joudrey. She was well liked and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
Surviving are her loving husband of 58 years, "Andy" Joseph; sister, Olive Dunn, Halifax; half-sister, Ruth LaPoint, Dartmouth; granddaughter, Mandy (Wayne) MacKinnon, Fredericton, N.B.; great-grandchildren, Alex, Emily and Suzanne; many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by brother, Minard.
Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m. Wednesday with funeral service 11 a.m. Thursday, both in Atlantic Funeral Home, 125 Sackville Dr. Burial in Oakridge Memory Gardens.

William David "Billy" Watson
WATSON, William David "Billy" - 58, Halifax, passed away April 5, 2003, in QEII Health Sciences Centre,. Born in Halifax, he was a son of the late Robert James and Lillian (Beaver) Watson.
He worked for the City of Halifax for 25 years with various divisions. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and walks through the woods to "the lake". Billy loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by daughters, Laura (Brian) and their children Jennifer and Adam; Shelly (Réal) and their son Jacob; brothers, Bernard (Rosalind), Darrell "Peter", Douglas (Kelly); sisters, Carol (Joe), Patricia (Frank), Sandra (Ron), Deborah (Robert), Catherine (Danny), Barbara (Randy); several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by granddaughter, Sarah; nephew, Shane.
Visitation will take place 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today in Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax, where funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday. Cremation to follow. Burial will be held at a later date in Fairview Lawn Cemetery.
