ETHEL GWENDOLYN "Gwen" JESSOP

JESSOP......Ethel Gwendolyn "Gwen", age 69, of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, November 13th., 2002, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, after a lengthy illness.
Born on October 7th., 1933, in Morden, Kings County, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Murray Dempsey and Jennie (Price) Dempsey-Zwicker.
She was a member of the United Church of Canada. She will be sadly missed by her family and also the Lamontagne family children, whom she cared for like a mother.
She is survived by her husband, Alden G. Jessop; sisters, Shirley Brown, Wolfville; Helen (Fred) Jessop, Ellershouse; Ardath Lamontagne, Ellershouse; Noreen (Perry) Whynot, Ellershouse; step-sister, Wiarda Kirchmayer, Wolfville; also many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her step-mother, Grace (Murray) Dempsey; step-father, Err Zwicker.
Cremation has taken place, under the care and direction of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
No visitations by request.
Funeral service will be held, 2 p.m. Saturday, November 16th., 2002, in St. Louise Union Church, Ellershouse, with Rev. Leslie Earle officiating. Interment in Oakhill Cemetery, Ellershouse. Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

FLORENCE PATRICIA "Peggy" JUDGE

JUDGE......Florence Patricia "Peggy", age 73, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away on Friday, November 22nd., 2002, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on December 5th., 1928, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Arthur and Stella (Mason) Poole.
Peggy is survived by daughters, Nancy (Grant) Hebb, Windsor; Debra (Bruce) Regan, Windsor; Kathy (Mike) Sheehy, Windsor; son, Roger Judge, at home in Windsor; six grandchildren, Marty and Allie Sheehy; Natalie and Mathew Regan; Stephanie and Travis Hebb; brother, Ellsworth (Elsie) Poole, Toronto, Ontario; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Earl Bradford Judge (1981).
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Saturday, November 23rd., in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, where the funeral service will be held, 1 p.m. Sunday, November 24th., 2002, in the Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Jeffrey White is officiating, followed by a reception at the Lindsay Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street. Interment at the South Rawdon United Baptist Cemetery, South Rawdon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Peggy's memory, may be made to the Hants Community Hospital Foundation or to the Hants County Branch of the V.O.N.

EVA HELEN TAYLOR

TAYLOR......Eva Helen, age 76, of Lower Sackville, formerly of Windsor, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 26th., 2002, at the Q.E.II, Palliative Care Unit, Halifax.
Born on March 28th., 1926, in South Rawdon, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Walter Scott Burgess and Kathryn Margaret (nee: Lane) Burgess.
Eva was a long time resident of Windsor, where she and her husband Victor, operated a general store on Nesbitt Street. She was also formerly employed at Eaton's, Windsor. She was a resident of Lower Sackville for the past 20 years and was a former employee and volunteer at Scotia Nursing Homes.
She is survived by a daughter, Darlene Taylor (Sue), Halifax; sons, Dean (Donna) Taylor, Yellowknife, NWT; Dana (Pamela) Taylor, Windsor; grandchildren, Cory (Rosie) and Tobi Taylor; Brooke, Reese and Joel Taylor; great granddaughter, Emma Taylor; sisters, Ethel (Leverett) Cunningham, Mount Denson; Jean (Harold) Brown, Beaverbank; Kathryn (Edward) Flynn, Beaverbank; brothers, Russell (Kaye) Burgess, Martock; Vincent (Sylvia) Burgess, Windsor; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Victor Ellsworth Taylor (1972); a sister, Florence Campbell and a sister in infancy.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 28th., and Friday, Nov. 29th., in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel, at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 30th., 2002, with Rev. Wim Kreeft officiating. Interment at Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor, followed by a reception at the Lindsay Family Reception Centre, 184 King Street.
Family flowers only, donations in her memory, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society

CARL MORRIS WARD

WARD......Carl Morris, age 81, of Mount Uniacke, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, November 27th., 2002, at his home.
Born on October 28th., 1921, in Wentworth, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Joseph and Hanna (nee: Seary) Ward.
He retired in 1993, as an estate caretaker in Dover, Mass., where he was employed for over 30 years. Upon his retirement, he returned to Mount Uniacke with his wife. He was one of the founding members of the first Mount Uniacke Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed life to its fullest.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, the former Blanche Marie Davis; son, Garnet Ward, Bellingham, Mass.; granddaughter, Melissa Ward; grandsons, Andrew and Derek Ward; brothers, Earl "Pat" (Ella) Ward, Gypsum Mines; William "Billy" (Leona) Ward, Stanley; sisters, Dorothy "Dot" Elliott, Upper Rawdon; Kathleen "Kit" Lowe, South Rawdon; several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by a son, Charles Joseph Ward; brothers, Carmon Ward; Claude Ward; Cecil "John" Ward; Eric "George" Ward; Roy Ward; Gordon Ward; and twin brothers in infancy; sisters, Jean Arenburg; Annie Delle Torre; Geraldine Brooks; Josephine Hatt; Edith Haley and Madeline Murphy.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, November 29th., in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, November 30th., 2002, in the South Rawdon United Baptist Church, South Rawdon, with Rev. Stewart McLearn officiating. Interment in the South Rawdon United Baptist Cemetery, followed by a reception in the South Rawdon United Baptist Church Hall.
Family flowers only, donations in his memory, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

STELLA MAY BENEDICT

BENEDICT......Stella May, age 78, of Mount Denson, Hants County.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a dear wife, loving mother and grandmother, on Tuesday, December 10th., 2002, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on February 20th., 1924, in Windsor, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Gilbert and Mary Jane (Guptell) Greenough.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Alfred Wilson Benedict; a daughter, Elaine (Charles) Pemberton, Hants Border; a son, Dean (Jeanne) Benedict, Mount Denson; grandchildren, Gregory Pemberton (Kim Lutz); Cara (Jeff) Jodrey; Amie Benedict and Corey Benedict; sisters, Greta Buckler, Fairview; Glenda (Wilbert) Fielding, Newport Station; brothers, Lloyd (Minnie) Greeno, Falmouth; Alton "Jack" (Evelyn) Greenough, Mount Denson; Gordon Greeno, Coldbrook; Cyril Greenough, Windsor; several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Terry Richard Benedict in infancy; sisters, Irma Greenough and Jean Hiltz; a brother, Kenneth Greenough.
Cremation has taken place, under the care and direction of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
There is no visitation by request.
A graveside committal service for all family members, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, December 13th., 2002, at the Mount Denson United Baptist Cemetery, Mount Denson. Rev. Charles Milbury is officiating, followed by a reception open to family, friends and neighbours, at the Hants Border Community Hall.
Family flowers only, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of ones choice.

SHIRLEY LAURINE GALLAGHER

GALLAGHER......Shirley Laurine, age 81, of Centre Rawdon, Hants County, Nova Scotia, passed away on Sunday, August 4th., 2002, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on November 30th., 1920, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Betty (Brooker) Connors.
Shirley is survived by her sons, Paul (Darlene), Toronto, Ontario; Neil (Karen), Vancouver, B.C.; grandchildren, Sean, Vancouver, B.C.; Sara, Montreal, P.Q.; Lauren, Michael and Chelsea, all of Vancouver, B.C.; sisters, Joan (Russell) Casey, Centre Rawdon, N.S.; Nancy (Ronald) Hughes, Dartmouth, N.S.; brother-in-law, Jack Richardson, Dartmouth, N.S.
She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Edward Gallagher (February 4th., 1993); father, Frederick L. Connors; mother, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" (nee: Brooker); sisters, Betty Thompson and husband Ross; Phyllis Richardson; brother, John Connors and wife Martha.
Cremation has taken place, under the care of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, N.S. At Shirley's request, there will be no visitation.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 10th., 2002, in St. Paul's Anglican Church, Centre Rawdon. Rev. Robert Brush is officiating, followed by interment in St. Paul's Parish Cemetery, Centre Rawdon.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley's memory, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. Paul's Anglican Church.

CHARLES R. PARKER

PARKER, Charles Rae, age 73, of Ashdale, Hants County passed away Friday, August 9, 2002 at home.
Born November 4, 1928 in Ashdale, Hants County, he was a son of Murray and Gladys (McKay) Parker.
He was a farmer most of his life. He worked for Overhead Door Company of Halifax for 11 years. Charles enjoyed gardening and playing cards. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his wife the former Jean Harvey, Daughters, Debbie (Paul) Weir,Karla (Kenneth) Zwicker, Holly Lake, all of Ashdale Sons, Randy (Starlene), Ross (Sherri), Lawrence (Jackie) Steven (Paula), all of Ashdale, Brother, Paul (Marion) of Greenhill, Foster sisters, Joan (Robert) Custance, Upper Rawdon and Sharon (Al) Greber, Alberta; 16 Grandchildren, 2 Great granddaughters
He was predeceased by: Sister, Lillian Dearman, Brothers, Earl, Cecil, John, Horace and 2 in infancy
Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home.
Visitations 2-4 and 7-9 Sunday, August 11, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service 2 p.m. on Monday, August 11, from the Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Charles Milbury officiating. Burial in the Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.
Donations in memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to Charity of ones choice

FRANCES MARTELL O'BRIEN

O'Brien, Frances Martell - 94, Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, Hants County., formerly of Rawdon Gold Mines, Hants County., passed away Saturday, August 24th, 2002 in Valley Regional Hospital, kentville.
Born July 12th, 1908, in Bedford, Halifax County, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Elizabeth (McKay) Hanes.
She enjoyed knitting for her family and did so right up until her passing. She enjoyed flowers especially pansies. Frances was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
Surviving are daughters, Mary (Earle) Campbell, Greenfield; Kay (John) Frenette, Windsor; Maggie (John) Olsen, Truro; Ruth O'Brien, Truro; Annie (Stoney) Chandler, Windsor; sons, Harold (Elinor), West Branch, Pictou County; Ralph (Vivian), Sherbrooke; sisters, Annie Isenor, Eastern
Passage; Sarah Salter, Stanley; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Zeba; sons, George and Milton; sisters, Alice Rushton, Florence Murphy, and Kathleen Keating; brother, Earl.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, August 26th, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., Windsor. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 27th, in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Garnet Parker officiating. Burial to follow in West Gore Cemetery, West Gore. Donations in memory may be made to Dykeland Lodge or a charity of one's choice.
