ALEXANDER "Alex" F. GALLEY
GALLEY......Alexander Frederick "Alex", age 85, of Windsor, formerly of Three Mile Plains, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, June 18th., 2003, in the Haliburton Place, Windsor, where he was a resident for the past 5 years.
Born on September 27th., 1917, in Three Mile Plains, Hants County, Nova Scotia, he was a son of the late Allan E. and Ruby E. (Shanks) Galley.
Alex was a veteran of the Second World War, serving in the Canadian Army with the Royal Canadian Engineers. He was formerly employed for over 43 years, as a heavy equipment operator with the Fundy Gypsum Company. He was a member of St. Thomas Anglican Church, Three Mile Plains and also a former trustee of the Three Mile Plains School. He enjoyed going to the cottage, gardening, fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, the former Gladys Evelyn Flynn, Windsor Elms; daughter, Laura Mae Mumford and husband, Reg, Three Mile Plains; son, James "Jim" and wife, Sandra Galley, Windsor; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; sisters, Kathleen "Kay" Davis, Three Mile Plains; Constance "Connie" Lowthers, Three Mile Plains; brothers, Bertram "Bert" Galley, Windsor; Guy Galley, Three Mile Plains; brother-in-law, Mike Shiers, Three Mile Plains; many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents, Alex was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Alexander and Eliza (Shearer) Shanks; brothers, Roy Galley and Clarence Galley; brothers-in-law, Tim Thorpe, Rollie Lowthers and Clarence Davis; sisters, Edna Thorpe and Dorothy Shiers; sisters-in-law, Jean Galley, Anna Galley and Thelma Galley.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, June 19th., in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be held, 2 p.m. Friday, June 20th., 2003, in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Fred Rhymes officiating. Interment at the Ste. Croix Cemetery, St. Croix, Hants County.

DOROTHY "DOT" L. MYLES
Myles........Dorothy "Dot" Leota, age 92, Wolfville, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2003, in the Wolfville Nursing Home, Wolfville. She was formerly of Avonport and Walbrook Mountain.
Born in Port Williams, Kings County, she was a daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Bessie Delilah (Johnson) England.
She was a homecare worker in Wolfville for a number of years and also worked at Haliburton Farm, Avonport. Dot then went to work for CKF Inc., Hantsport, for over 30 years. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and Great Great Grandmother. She enjoyed knitting for her family and was a member of the Avonport ladies sewing circle. Dot was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are daughters, Jean (Herman) Morine, Avonport; Betty States, Hantsport; Dorothy Kelly (Terry Beatty), Hortonville; sons, Eric (Lorna), Avonport; Stanley (Wanda), Chester; Robert (Florence), North Grand Pre; Ernie (Pearl), Bishopville; Vernie (Lloma), Hantsport; Budd (Ruth), Trenton; Gary "Duke", Walbrook Mountain; Keith "Mickey" (Catherine), Halifax; 50 Grandchildren; 83 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Nathan Kinsman Myles; daughter, Hilda in infancy; sons, Cecil and Donald; grandson, Bruce Kelly; sisters, Bessie Benjamin, Lillian Schofield, Elsie England, Elizabeth Robinson, Annie Brown, Clara Keddy, Reata Freeman, Edith Guilfoy, Lucy Hirtle; brother, Robert England Jr.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, June 21, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Avonport Baptist Church, Avonport, Rev. Gail Whalen-Dunn and Rev. Gary Manthorne officiating. Burial to follow in Willowbank Cemetery, Wolfville. PANSY BLANCHE BRUCE
BRUCE......Pansy Blanche, age 87, of Windsor, Hants County, formerly of West Gore and Halifax, passed away on Tuesday, June 24th., 2003, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on February 20th., 1916, in North Noel Road, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Clarence Atwood White and Etta Blanche (McCulloch) White.
Pansy was a retired homecare worker and an avid gardener. She was a resident of the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor, for the past two years.
She is survived by a son, Douglas "Doug" Bruce and wife Adrene, Trenton, Ontario; 6 grandchildren; a great grandchild; brothers, Lincoln White, Thorn, Ontario; Clifford (Janet) White, Prescott, Ontario; Maurice (Evelyn) White, Spryfield; Lionel White, Truro; Robert "Bobby" White, Fall River; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Phillip Lowell "Ted" Bruce (1990); son, Bernard "Bernie" Bruce; sisters, Mildred Hines; Marie Ross; Dorothy White and Verna Lowthers; brothers, Phillip White; Winthrop "Winnie" White and Kenneth White.

MARJORIE GWENDOLINE LEOPOLD
LEOPOLD......Marjorie Gwendoline, age 90, of Ellershouse, Hants County, passed away on Wednesday, December 25th., 2002, in the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on November 10th., 1912, in Rugeley, England, she was a daughter of the late Ernest Edgar Lycett and Margaret (Fisher) Lycett.
She received her early education and graduated from Chadsmore Senior School for Girls, Rugeley, then along with her family, she came to Canada in 1928. She enjoyed travelling, loved her flowers and nature. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, who's family meant the world to her.
She is survived by a daughter, Minnie Gwendolyn (Owen) McGinn, Ellershouse; a son, Daniel David (Dorothy) Leopold, Ellershouse; grandsons, Jeffrey Leopold, Ellershouse; Adrian McGinn, Wolfville; Daniel David William (Tanya) Leopold, Calgary, Alberta.
She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Daniel Alby Leopold; daughters, Shirley Levenia Lengyel and Doreen Margaret Dearman; a brother, Eric Lycett and an infant brother, Ronald.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday, December 27th., 2002, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 28th., 2002, in Christ Anglican Church, Windsor (corner of Wentworth Road and King Street), with Rev. David Curry officiating. Interment in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor.

SHIRLEY MARIE MACUMBER
MACUMBER......Shirley Marie, age 69, of Cheverie, Hants County, passed away peacefully, Thursday, June 26th., 2003, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor, after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Born on June 10th., 1934, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Mary Rose (Harris) Deveau.
She was a resident of Cheverie for the past 29 years, was an avid gardener and enjoyed her cottage at Sunken Lake, King County. She was a member of the Bramber New Horizons Senior Citizens Group and also the local breast cancer support group.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Leland Clair "Mac" Macumber; her children, Alan (Debbie) Macumber, Dartmouth; Lynn (Andy) Ruiter, Nepean, Ontario; Susan Macumber, Ellershouse; Crystal Lake, Brooklyn, Hants County; Byron (Donna) Macumber, Middle Sackville; Todd Macumber, Windsor; a grandson whom they raised, Roderick Macumber, Bramber; also 12 additional grandchildren; 1 great grandson; sisters, Cecilia Johnson and Eileen Nurse; brothers, Wilfred (Joan) Deveau; Frank (Jeannine) Deveau; Joe-Joe (Marge) Deveau; Donnie Deveau; several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by 2 daughters in infancy; sisters, Josephine Mason and Pauline Giles; brother, Melvin Deveau.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, where visitation will be held, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday, June 29th., 2003.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, June 30th., 2003, in St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, King Street, Windsor, with Rev. Fr. J. J. MacDonald officiating. Interment in the Cheverie United Church Cemetery, Cheverie.

MICHEL YVES GILLES LANCTOT CD1
LANCTOT......Michel Yves Gilles CD1, age 66, of Cheverie, Hants County, passed away suddenly on Saturday, November 9th., 2002, at the Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born on October 25th., 1936, in Montreal, Quebec, he is a son of Lucille (Manning) Lanctot, Ste. Agathe, Quebec and the late Guy Lanctot.
He retired in 1978, from the Royal Canadian Navy, after 25 years of service. He then went to work with the Department of Labour and Education, for the Province of Nova Scotia, retiring in 1996.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, the former Colleen Sweeney; sons, Guy (Cathy), Stittsville, Ontario; John (Sara), Borden, Ontario; Blair (Susan), Belnan; Christopher, Port Hope, Ontario; grandchildren, Amanda, Victor, Joshua, Nicole, Elena and Kaitlyn Lanctot; sister, Josette St.Laurent, Montreal, Quebec; brother, Luc, Ste. Agathe, Quebec.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12th., in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, November 13th., 2002, in the Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Florence Antle-Brison officiating. Interment will take place, at a later date.

ANNIE MAY AKER
AKER......Annie May, age 98, Windsor, passed away Thursday, December 26th, 2002, in Hants Community Hospital, Windsor.
Born November 18th, 1904, in Maitland, Hants County, she was a daughter of the late William and Annie (Thompson) MacKenzie.
She was a resident of Dykeland Lodge for the past five years and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Annie is survived by a daughter, Evelyn (Frank) Harvey, Calgary, Alberta; sons, Austin (Jean), High River, Alberta; Eric (Audrey), Calgary, Alberta; Clayton (Brenda), Falmouth; Sidney (Gail), Calgary, Alberta; Henry (Brenda), Kentville; 14 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband, Stanley Blinkhorn Aker; grandson, Keith Aker; sisters, Lalia, Melissa, Sarah, Marion, Mabel and Alice; brothers, Robert, Samuel, William, Dennis, Roy, Howard, Daniel and Leander.
Visitation was Friday, December 27th, 2002 in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., where funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m., Rev. David Hine officiating. Burial to follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Windsor. Donations may be made to the Dykeland Lodge Bus Fund.
VERNA EVELYN CUNNINGHAM
CUNNINGHAM......Mrs. Verna Evelyn, age 91, of Windsor, formerly of Mount Denson, Hants County, passed away on Tuesday, January 7th, 2003, in the Dykeland Lodge Senior Citizen's Home, Windsor, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 27th, 1911, in Upper Falmouth, Hants County, Nova Scotia, she is a daughter of the late Freeman and Olive (nee: Patterson) Benedict.
She was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Hantsport, and was a past member of the Mount Denson Women's Institute. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She was welcoming and hospitible to all who entered her home and sat at her table.
She is survived by sons, Leverett "Biff" (Ethel) Cunningham, Mount Denson; Cecil (Eva) Cunningham, Falmouth; Stanley (Edna) Cunningham, Crossfield, Alberta; daughters, Iris (James) Faulkner, Mount Denson; Bernice (Mike) Blanchard, Bridgewater; Valarie Cunningham, Falmouth; 23 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; sister, Retta Whynot, Lower Sackville; brother, Alfred Benedict, Mount Denson; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Hamilton "Ike" W. Cunningham (November 8th, 1984); grandson, Gregory Cunningham; sisters, Flora Zinck; Mabel Weisner; Eva Rockwell; Lena Taylor and Thelma Maddox; brothers, Clarence Benedict, Lawson Benedict, Eustace Benedict and Everett Benedict.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday, January 9th, in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor.
Funeral service will be held, 2 p.m. Friday, January 10th, 2003, in St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Hantsport, with Rev. Michael Boyd and Rev. Arthur Cuzner officiating. A private family interment in the family plot, Mount Denson United Baptist Cemetery, Mount Denson, followed by a reception at St. Andrew's Anglican Church Hall, Hantsport.
