James - Charles Edward “Ed” of St. Thomas, on Tuesday, March 30, 2004, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 79th year. Beloved husband of the late Virtue “Vicky” (Catherwood) James (2002) and dear father of Paul Edward and his wife Heather James of London. Dear brother of Doris Wakabyashi of Hamilton, Edna James of Stoney Creek and brother-in-law of Evelyn James of Hamilton, Edith West of Burlington, Maude Caldwell of Moncton, Billy Catherwood of Stoney Creek and Bob Catherwood of Napanee. Predeceased by brother-in-law Ted Catherwood (2003). Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Ed was born August 28, 1925 in Oakville and resided in St. Thomas since 1966 and formerly of Hamilton and Stoney Creek. He was retired from the St. Thomas Golf and Country Club and from Consolidated Bathurst. Kinsella: At her late residence in Port Stanley on Thursday, April 1, 2004. Mrs. Marguerite (Gloin) Kinsella, wife of Richard F. Kinsella, in her 77th year. Sister of Mrs. Lynda Cosens and her husband Donald of St. Thomas and Gerald Gloin and his wife Dorothy of Edmonton, Alberta. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Yarmouth Centre, February 2, 1928, daughter of the late William H. and late Helen (Powers) Gloin. Mrs. Kinsella lived her life in Port Stanley, St. Thomas and London. She was a retired employee of the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital and had also been employed at Extendicare, Port Stanley. By request, there will be no public visitation. Nott - Oral (Putman) of R.R.#1, Fingal, on Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital in her 87th year. Beloved wife of the late Edwin Murray Nott (1995) and dearly loved mother of the late Gail Roberts (1995). Loved grandmother of Shaun, Shane, Andrew, Becky, David and Robert and by a number of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Oral was the last of her family. Oral was born in Stouffville on August 24th, 1917, the daughter of the late Albert and Nellie (Cassidy) Putman. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church in Fingal and resided in the Fingal area all her life. Dearly loved grandfather of John, Darlene, Joy, Ken, Diane, Anne, Janice, Wendy, Sherry, Amanda, Angela and Michael and great grandfather of Tim, Sandra, John, Adam, Jennifer, Lauren, Ben, Daniel, Luke, Dalton, Colin, Ashley, Devin and Breanna and great, great grandfather of Brianna. He was a member of St. Mark’s Lodge #94 A.F. and A.M. over 50 years and was a Past Master. Tennant - Ben E. of Caressant Care Nursing Home, St. Thomas, on Wednesday, March 31, 2004, at his late residence, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Johnston) Tennant (2000) and dearly loved father of Donna and her husband Sam Boyd of N. Ireland, Darl and his wife Linda Tennant of Chatham, Bruce Tennant of Windsor, Linda and her husband Harry Slegers of Chatham, Helen Tennant of London, Arlene and her husband Randy Burch of Kincardine, David and his wife Cheri Tennant of Blenheim, Norma and her husband Jim Newsted of Cottam, Patricia and her husband Rowland Carey of Wardsville and the late Kenneth W. Tennant. Sadly missed by 27 grandchildren, several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Predeceased by 2 grandsons Shawn Tennant and Michael Newsted. He was the last of his family. Ben was born in Wheatley on June 5, 1917, the son of the late Roy and Janet (Fish) Tennant. He worked at Ford Motor Company (Windsor) over 34 years. He was a member of the Woodslee Oddfellows and of Branch 410 of the Royal Canadian Legion, Port Stanley. Beloved husband of the late Alida (Westerhoff) Wattenburg (1997) and loved father of Janet Bruinsma of St. Thomas, Ronald and his wife Linda of St. Thomas and Harry Wattenburg of Hamilton. Loved grandfather of Lydia, Benjamin, Marion, Veronica and Derek. He was the last of his family. Aalt was born in Holland on May 26, 1908, the son of the late Haatje and Jentje Wattenburg. Aalt lived in St. Thomas since 1978 and formerly of Chatham and London. He was a retired Tailor and adherent of the First Christian Reformed Church. A private family service will be held at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas on Saturday afternoon. Interment in Elmdale cemetery. No public visitation. Bernard Casey (Dec. 1987) and dearly loved mother of Leo and his wife Vicki Casey of St. Thomas and Mary Anne and her husband Tony Martin of England. Much loved grandmother of Stephanie and Jessica Casey. Also survived by a number of sisters and brothers and nieces and nephews. Margaret was born in Dublin, Ontario on October 16, 1917, the daughter of the late Jan and Bertha Van Dorresteyn. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church and had worked in the kitchen at St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Wednesday morning and then to St. Anne’s Church where funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment in Holy Angel’s cemetery.
