MIEDEMA, Minno - Suddenly, on Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto, Minno Miedema of Elora, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Henny Miedema (nee Dotinga). Loving father of Clarence and his wife Karen of Guelph, Aileen Wiersma and her husband Teade of Alma, Rob and his wife Lisa of Guelph and Simone Miedema of Elora. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Heather, Laura, Jillian, Reuben, Elise, Melanie, Tylar, Logan and Cole. Dear brother of Tjitze and Rika Miedema, Tjitze and Siep Iderheide, Geert and Frovk Bos, Jaap and Richje Miedema. Minno is predeceased by his daughter, Thersa (1976) and sister, Annie Nieuwhof and her husband Minno and brother, Doede Jan Miedema. The family received their friends at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home, 37 Church Street, Elora from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and will received friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Thursday). Funeral service will be held at the Elora Road Christian Fellowship Church, 5696 Wellington Road 7, on Friday June 11, 2004 at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jim Gordon officiating at the service. Followed by interment at the Elora cemetery. Remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family, (cards available at the funeral home 843-3100.

SCOTT-LEADER, Susanna (Susie) (nee McIvor) - Of Guelph, passed away at the Guelph General Hospital, Monday, June 7, 2004, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Robert Scott (1961) and Theodore (Ted) Leader (1994). Loved mother of Joan (Charles) Webster, David (Sharon) Scott, Dale (Carol) Scott, Doreen Scott, John (Cathy) Scott and Ronald (Susie) Scott, all of Guelph, (Dolly) Mary Anne (Oliver) Gregory, Glenn (Norma) Leader and James (Kathy) Leader, all of Elmira. Loving grandmother of 19 and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Amy Smith and Kathleen Millar. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son, Robert Scott (1970); a granddaughter, Sandra Currie (1989); brother, Jim McIvor and sisters, Margaret Humphries, Sadie Fitzgerald, Elizabeth Wedack and Isabel Adams and a great-granddaughter, Alex Rendef. Susie was a member of Lavina Lodge No. 555, receiving her 50 year pin, Honorary member of Right Worship of Ontario West and member of the Orange Hall. Friends will be received at the Wall-Custance Funeral Home & Chapel, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, today (Thursday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held, in the funeral home chapel, Friday, June 11, 2004, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Thomas Kay officiating. (Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.) Interment Woodlawn cemetery , Guelph. Memorial contributions to the Knox Presbyterian Church Stain Glass Restoration Fund would be appreciated.

SHERWOOD, David - Mr. David George Sherwood, age 73, of 158 Elizabeth Street, Stratford, passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at the London Health Sciences Centre, South Street Campus, after a brief illness, on Monday, June 7, 2004. Born in Stratford, son of the late George Sherwood and the former Margaret R. Gourlay and has lived here all his life. Dave was the Manager of the Beacon Herald Fine Printing Division, retiring in 1990. He was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Noon Hour Club and was Past President of the Cullitons Jr. B Hockey Club. He enjoyed travelling, woodworking, volunteering and his family. Beloved husband of the former Doris E. Roth. Loving father of Douglas Sherwood and wife Helen of Fergus and Barbara and husband Robert Appel and their children, Nathaniel and Matthew, of Stratford. Dear brother-in-law of Allan and Lorraine Skowby of Stratford and Marilyn and Gary Moore of Ilderton. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and their families. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Audrey McLean and Inez Cantin and by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Violet and Elgin Roth. Friends and relatives may call at the W.G. Young Funeral Home, 430 Huron Street, Stratford on Thursday, June 10 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church on Friday at 2 p.m. followed by cremation. Kelly Sibthorpe will officiate. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Stratford General Hospital Foundation, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church or to the charty of one's choice through the funeral home.

CLEMENS, Lloyd Carl - It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lloyd Clemens, on June 9, 2004, at the Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by his wife Margaret Clemens (Wolfe) of 47 years. Beloved brother of Edward (Doris) Clemens, Glen Clemens (the late Kay) (2003), Isobel (Murray) McBain, and Velma Parks, all of Cambridge. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews and cousins, and other close relatives. Predeceased by his parents Willis Reid Clemens and Mary Clemens. Lloyd owned and operated Guy's Interiors of Kitchener for over 30 years. He was a member of St. Andrew's United Church (Preston), and was very dedicated to the workings of the church, serving on many of the committees and the board of St. Andrew's. Lloyd was a cherished member of the congregation and will be sadly missed. Lloyd gave back to his community. He gave freely of his time and talents as a volunteer to St. Luke's Place, as a founding member of the board in September of 1974, and he continued to serve until his retirement in 2000. He served as chairman of the House Committee which later became the Property Committee during that time. Lloyd was also a member of two life lease committees during the 1980's and 1990's. A memorial service will be held at St. Luke's United Church on Saturday, June 12 at 11 o'clock. A private interment will follow at a later date at Wanner Mennonite cemetery. Those who wish, may make a memorial donation to either St. Luke's Place Foundation or to St. Andrew's United Church, Preston. DARROCH, Laverne - Of Harriston, at Palmerston and District Hospital, on Tuesday, June 8 , 2004 in his 81st year. Husband of the late Gertie (Allensen) Darroch and father of Yvonne Weppler and her husband Paul of St.Clements and Beverley Darroch and her husband Mark Moore of Ormond Beach, Florida and grandfather of Bonnie Weppler and Lynne Weppler. Brother of Elton Darroch and his wife Ann of Mount Forest and Bernice Kelly and her husband Ron of Kitchener and brother-in-law of Gladys Darroch of Fergus, Gwelda Darroch of Palmerston, Lucille Sutherland of Fergus, Tina Weigel of Hanover and Eleanor Lerch and her husband Bert of Neustadt. Predeceased by his brothers, Raymond, Clifton and Orville. Friends may call at the Hardy-Lee Funeral Home, Harriston on Saturday, June 12, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1 p.m. Interment in Harriston cemetery. Memorial donations to Ontario Federation of Anglers & Hunters, Palmerston and District Hospital or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

EHRET, Alfred Anton - passed away peacefully, Tuesday, June 8, 2004, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, after a courageous battle with Cancer. Loving husband of Agnes (nee Paulsen) Ehret for 53 years. Dear father of Edward (Marlies) of Kitchener and Thomas (Norma) of Cambridge. Grandpa of Christopher, Jonathan, Benjamin, Rebecca and Evan. He is survived by his brother Heinz and sisters Therese and Margarete and nieces and nephews, all of Germany. Alfred was born on January 4, 1928 in Marienbad, Sudetenland. In 1951 Alfred and Agnes emigrated to Canada. In 1966 Alfred started to work for Budd Canada Ltd. and became general foreman of the tool and die department retiring in 1990. He then pursued travel, skiing, scuba diving but most of all he enjoyed golfing six days a week. In respecting Alfred's wishes there will be no visitation. A funeral service will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, June 11, 2004 (today) in the chapel of the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick St., Kitchener 749-8467. Interment Memory Gardens cemetery. A reception will take place at the funeral home following the interment at Memory Gardens cemetery. HARDING, Gordon Victor - Passed away, peacefully, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, Kitchener. Gord resided in New Hamburg and was born 56 years ago in Erin township. Gord was a member of the New Hamburg Lion's Club. Dear son of Dorothy (Smeltzer) Harding of Guelph. Beloved husband of Dorothy (Chamberlain) Harding whom he married April 25, 1986. Father of Tammy and husband Bill Stevenson of Fergus and Julie Arthur Schaefer of Kitchener. Missed by his grandchildren, Chris, Sabrina, Jessica, Rebecca and Trevor. Also remembered by his son-in-law, Cliff Washburn of Owen Sound and brothers, Allan Harding of Mildmay, Fred and wife Cathy Harding of Fergus, Keith and wife Benita Harding of Acton, Donald Harding and fiancee Lynda, Lloyd and wife Natalie Harding, all of Guelph. Also remembered by nephews, Trevor and Chad and Adam Harding. Gord was predeceased by his father, Roy Harding in 1984; daughter, Laura Washburn in 1999; sister-in-law, Maxine Harding and grandparents, Victor and Wilda Harding and Gordon and Mabel Smeltzer. Family and friends may call at the Mark Jutzi Funeral Home, 291 Huron Street, New Hamburg this evening (Thursday) 7-9 p.m. and again Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will held on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at Zion United Church, New Hamburg at 2 p.m. with Pastor Bob Thaler officiating. Lunch will follow immediately after the service then followed by the interment in Union cemetery , New Dundee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Phyllis Riehl House or New Hamburg Lion's Club.

ROSE M. HOWE (nee Wraith) 1932 - 2004 Peacefully at Woodstock General Hospital, on Monday, June 7, 2004, at the age of 72 years. Rose was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who gave her heart to everyone. Beloved wife of Thomas Howe. Loving mother of Tom Jr., Robert, Rosemary, the late Judy Gruetzmacher and Sandy Chown. Cherished grandmother of Dave, Chris, Mike, Ashley, Kim, Pam and Raymond. Dear sister of Allan, Harry and Dorothy Logan. Predeceased by sister Violet Dingman and by brothers Frank and Wally. KUDLIK, John - On Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in his 85th year. John, beloved husband of Luise (nee Geschrey) for 56 years. Proud and loving father of John and his wife Dobrila, Gerhard and his wife Cathy, Kurt and his wife Mary. Loving Opa of grandchildren Carrie, Tracey, Jeff, Derek, Christina, Robert, Belinda, Bridgette, Jason, his nine great-grandchildren and eight step-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents Johann and Maria (nee Klenner), his brother Joseph and sister Maria Halwachs (nee Kudlik). The Kudlik family thanks the Doctors and staff of the Grand River Hospitals for the good care he received while in their care. MacLEAN, Brenda - After years of helping others, Brenda died peacefully with her family by her side, at London Health Sciences Centre, Westminster Campus, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004. Devoted mother of Trevor and companion Paula Jones and Tawnya and companion Mike Murray, all of London. Cherished daughter of Lois Hodgert and the late William Hodgert (1988) of Seaforth. Loving sister of Bryan Hodgert and his wife Linda of Heidelberg. Predeceased by her nephew Daryl (1984) and by her infant brother (1949). After a challenging nursing career she will be sadly missed by her family, friends and nursing colleagues. Visitation will be held tonight (Thursday) from 7-9 p.m. and on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, (2 blocks north of Oxford) where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, June 12, 2004 at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Ted Nelson officiating. Interment will take place at Exeter cemetery on Monday, June 14, 2004 at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to honour Brenda's memory may be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation (Palliative Care or Cancer Centre).

Loving mother of Phil and his wife Lynn of Ballinafad, Jim and his wife Carole of Dundalk, Will Jr. and his wife Karen of Kitchener, Leah McLaughlin and her husband Chris Simpkin of High Level, Alberta and Robyn and her husband Brian Lesauvage of Owen Sound. Proud grandmother of Aaron, Jamie, Colleen, Emily, Paislea, Kayla and Isaac and great-grandmother of William, Brendan and Robert. Dear sister of Sherril, Marilyn, Derril and the late Elizabeth. Long time neighbour and friend of Betty and Bob Burgoyne. Friends will be received at the J.S. At K-W Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, on Wednesday, June 9, 2004, at age 81. Chriss immigrated to Canada in 1957. Loving husband of 58 years to Esther Garde Pedersen; beloved father of Alice Olsen, Bente and Tim Willis, and Brian and Laurel Pedersen, Morfar and Farfar of Rene and Valerie, Tanja and Steve, Ryan and Shannon, Jodie, Matthew, and Cory. Dear brother of Bendt Pedersen, Martha Bjerg, Harriet Andersen, Folmer Pedersen and Grethe Jensen, all in Denmark. Predeceased by his parents Marinus and Kristina Pedersen and a brother Arne Pedersen. Friends are invited to share their memories of Chriss with his family at the Edward R.
