Kowaltschuk, Berthold Georg (Bert) Bert died of ALS at age 60, at home surrounded by love and care on September 17, 2004. He is mourned by Mary (nee Whitney), his sweetheart and wife of 39 years; and his loving children, Lisa and Terry Noble, of Hastings, and Adam and Clare Kowaltschuk, of Newmarket. Opa will be missed by grandsons John and Mark Noble. Bert also leaves siblings and good friends Erika and Hans Steinhauser, Paul and Susan Kurrat, and Bob and Bev Whitney and their families. He is also survived by his greatly saddened Mama (Eugenia Kurrat), and family in Germany. Born in Poland, raised in Germany, Bert immigrated to Canada as a child and taught secondary school for over 30 years. He served the Lord and his community well. An intelligent and complex individual, he loved his family, all things natural, a glass of red wine, and spirited discussions of “things that matter”. A memorial service to celebrate Bert's life will be held on Saturday, October 2 at 2:30 p.m. at St. John's United Church in Wiarton, with visitation beginning at 1:00 pm. Cherished mother of Rosalyn and her husband Simon Peak, of Braintree, England; and Steven Martyn and his wife Melissa, of Pampelonne, France. Much loved grandma of Kim. Sadly missed by her brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews especially Bridgitte and Gary and Effie Helmstock (Evelyn’s best friend). Predeceased by her parents Otto and Hildegard, her brother Hans and her sister Hilkea. At Evelyn’s request cremation has taken place. Kennedy, D. Bruce - passed away peacefully at the Bruce Peninsula Health Services Wiarton on July 2nd, 2004 in the company of his wife of 52 years, Myrtle. Bruce will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, customers & business associates. Bruce was born Dennis Bruce Kennedy in Hamilton, Ontario & is predeceased by his parents Lorne & Beatrice Kennedy, 2 brothers (who died in infancy), and a number of aunts & uncles. Bruce owned & operated a successful building contracting business in the Sauble Beach area prior to his retirement in 2001.
