Shirley Greig
1929 - 2008

Greig, Shirley – of Wiarton peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Sunday, May 4th, 2008. The former Shirley Anna Lorraine Ferguson in her 79th year. Loving wife of over 60 years to the late Kenneth Gerald Greig (2007). Cherished mother of Foster Greig (Elaine Gray), of Winnipeg. Ever remembered by her grandchildren, Erin and her husband Noel Gelineau; Laurin Greig and her fiancee Ruben; and Courtney Houston and her fiancee Steve Ognenov; and her great-grandson Caleb Gelineau. Sadly missed by her brothers-in-law Winston, of Lion’s Head, Carm and his wife Eileen, and Stan, all of St. Thomas; and his sister-in-law Mary Stewart, of Sarnia. Predeceased by her parents Harold and Clara; and daughter Marsha Houston (2000). A celebration of Shirley’s life will be conducted from the chapel of the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Saturday, May 10th at 2 p.m. Rev. David Leggatt officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Eastnor cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Lung Association would be greatly appreciated. In living memory of Shirley, a Silver Maple tree will be planted in the funeral home meadow by the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel.

Harold F. Linklater
1917 - 2008

Harold F. Linklater – of Owen Sound, peacefully at his residence with his loving wife at his side on Sunday, April 27th 2008. Harold Fraser Linklater in his 91st year. Loving husband of the former Helen Coulson. Predeceased by his first wife of 48 years - Nora Elizabeth (nee Dimond). Cherished father of Doug Linklater, of Red Bay and Elizabeth (Liza) Linklater and her husband, James Trottier, of Manila, the Philippines. Harold is also survived by his two grandchildren Jesse and Dane Linklater of Barrie; and his 3 brothers Ken Linklater (Reita) of Kincardine, Bryce Linklater (Alma) of Jarvis and Gordon Linklater (Joan) of Toronto. Harold will be sadly missed by Helen’s children, William Findlay (Gazelle), Donald Findlay (Teresa), Margaret Nickle (Gerald), and Helen Wray (Bert); her 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service to celebrate Harold’s life at the Kincardine cemetery on Monday, May 5th, 2008 at 2 o’clock followed by a reception at Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine (345 Durham St.). Rev. Ruth MacLean officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Pearl Gladys Chantler
1916 - 2008

Pearl Chantler – of Wiarton peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2008. The former Pearl Gladys Bick at the age of 91 years. Loving wife of the late Edward Chantler. Caring mother of Kerry and his wife Sue, Christie Chantler, and Lee Chantler, all of Toronto, and Clare and her husband Fred Drury, of Wiarton. Forever cherished by her 7 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Pearl is predeceased by her parents Walter and Annie; one brother and one sister. Cremation has taken place. At Pearl’s request there will be a memorial service held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041. Donations to Bruce Peninsula Hospice Inc. would be greatly appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home. Thelma Mae Caudle

Thelma Mae Caudle – of Wiarton peacefully at Gateway Haven on Friday, April 18th, 2008. The former Thelma Mae McLay in her 74th year. Loving and devoted wife of Ken. Cherished mother of Jo Anne and her husband Larry McCartney, of Wiarton; and step-mother of Gary Caudle and his wife Viviane, of Port Elgin. Caring grandmother of Brandi-Lynne Rouse, Jared Rouse, Amber (Jeffrey Geerdink), Marshall McCartney, Nicola Caudle, and Olivier Caudle; and great-grandmother of Grace Geerdink. Beloved sister of Margaret (Ben Hatt), of Clavering; and her daughter-in-law Beth Rouse, of Wiarton. Sadly missed by her special niece and nephew Alannah and Travis Hatt. Predeceased by her parents Verna Mae and John Allan K. McLay; her brother Marshall McLay (1959); and her dear son John Rouse (1999). Thelma will be forever remembered for her amazing gift for music, talent in bowling and enduring devotion to her family. Cremation has taken place. Family invite friends to call at the Thomas C. Edith Josephine Stephens – of Wiarton, peacefully at Gateway Haven on Wednesday, April 16th, 2008. Edith Stephens (nee White) in her 84th year. Cherished grandmother of Natalie and her husband Aaron Murray, and Jon Stephens. Caring great-grandmother of Jack, Charlotte and Avery Murray. Mother-in-law of Janice Wilkinson (Tim). Sadly missed by her sister-in-law Shirley White, and many nieces, nephews and friends. Special aunt of Henry White and Patricia Symon. Dear friend of Nancy McCaw and Dorothy Hill. Predeceased by her parents Henry and Josephine White; her devoted husband Bruce (2002); her beloved son Brad; her 4 brothers; and her 3 sisters. Past member of Unity Rebekah Lodge #147 Wiarton. Of Red Bay, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Saturday, April 12th, 2008. Clare Charles Armstrong at the age of 74 years. Devoted and loving husband of the former Nancy Whetton. Cherished father of Cindy and her husband Bruce White, of Oakville; Cheryl and her husband Richard LaPage, of Princeton, N.J.; and Malcolm and his wife Robin, of Toronto. Caring grandpa to Conner White, and Luke and Matthew LaPage. Brother of Dorothy Guillemette; and brother-in-law of Ethel Armstrong, Carol Richardson, and Elaine Whetton. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews, many friends, and his travelling “buddies”, Cecil and Roma Rolfe, Carol Mays, and Jody Williams. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Carrie; his brother Allan; brothers-in-law Roger Guillemette, Clayton Richardson and Bob Whetton. Clare retired to Red Bay after a long and rewarding career with the Royal Bank. Friends are invited to call at the Thomas C. Ron McLeod
1933 - 2008

Ronald “Ron” McLeod – of Mar peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound on Saturday, April 12th, 2008 after a valiant battle with cancer. Ronald James Harry McLeod in his 75th year. Loving husband of Johanna (nee Kruise). Cherished father of Kathy McLeod, and Jim McLeod, both of Clavering. Forever remembered by his grandchildren Joel, Jesse, and Sarah. Sadly missed by his former wife Audrey McLeod; father-in-law John Kruise (Mary); and brother-in-law Thomas Kruise (Louise). Ron is predeceased by his parents James and Tray. Life was music to Ron. He was a genuine ‘country singer’, having his own TV show on CHCH (Hamilton) called “Jamboree” for 13 years with his band “Ron McLeod and the Lincoln County Boys”. He was also a member of the Sauble Anglers and Hunters and Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. Friends are invited to call at the Thomas C. Tierra Elizabeth Hill-Burley

Tierra Elizabeth Hill-Burley –of Kitchener and formerly of Wiarton, at Cambridge Memorial Hospital on Tuesday April 8th, 2008 at the age of 9 years. Cherished daughter of Natasha Burley. Loving sister to Jordyn, at home. Sadly missed by many family and friends. Tierra will be remembered fondly by everyone at Sunbeam Lodge, as well as Harriet Nixon Pope and Cathy Irving of Bruce Peninsula Association for Community Living. Ernie Koshan
1942 - 2008

Ernie Koshan – of Colpoy’s Bay surrounded by his loving family at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Friday, April 4th, 2008. “Ernie” Orys Koshan at the age of 65 years. Loving husband of 43 years to Virginia (nee Ciemiega). Cherished father of Terry and his wife Carolyn, of Brampton; and Andy and his partner Katie Graham, of Owen Sound. Devoted grandfather of Spencer and Skye. Brother of Russ and his partner Betsy, of Toronto, and Jerry and his wife Judy, of Calgary; and brother-in-law of John Handiak and his wife Carol Wilson, and Edward Ciemiega and his wife Jenny. Sadly missed by his mother-in-law Bernice Ciemiega; cousin Danny Bojcun and his wife Lorraine; and his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Predeceased by his parents John and Jennie Koshan; his sister Elsie Handiak; and a sister-in-law Sue Koshan. Ernie grew up at Jane and Bloor in Toronto, and was raised in a loving and supportive family. He met Virginia, who would quickly become his soul mate, while they were students at Humberside Collegiate. Together they began to form the love and wisdom they would give to Terry, Andy and Carolyn. Ernie’s positive outlook at every step in life was a great benefit to all he met. An accomplished principal, teacher, coach and realtor, Ernie’s legacy of love, compassion and understanding will live in each person who had the privilege of knowing him. Ernie’s final good example, a seven-month fight with lung cancer, will not be forgotten. Family invite friends to call at the Thomas C. Jean Zimmer – of Tobermory suddenly at the Peninsula Family Health Team facility in Tobermory on Friday, March 14th, 2008. The former Lillian Jean Russell in her 89th year. Devoted wife of the late John Peter Zimmer (1998). Lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Ted Elliott; sister-in-law Pauline (Mrs. Harold Fidler); nieces; nephews; and many friends. Predeceased by her parents Bert and Mary Anne Russell; her brother Walter; and her sister Helen Elliott. Jean worked as a Registered Nurse for over 32 years; and was the pipe organist at the Settlement Church and Tobermory United Church from 1975 until 2004. She was proud to belong to the Tobermory United Church UCW, and Happy Harbour Club. At Jean’s request, friends are invited to call at the Thomas C.
