Kopp, Fred - of RR#4 Wiarton, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Manfred "Fred" Kopp at the age of 68 years. Loving partner and best friend of Ruth Buckton. Father of Kim Kopp, of McKellar, and Nicole and her husband Bob Cruickshank, of Wiarton. Cherished grandpa of Cassandra, Ronin, and Sorena. Brother of Arnhold and his wife Linda, Eddie and his wife Carol, and Seigi and his wife Shirley. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Johanna. At Fred's request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation has taken place. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Wiarton Hospital would be appreciated.

John Schnurr
1942 - 2011

Schnurr, John E. - suddenly at Victoria Hospital, London on Monday, May 9, 2011. John Edward Schnurr, of Hepworth, at the age of 69 years. Loving husband and best friend of the former Bonnie Richards for over 43 years. Cherished father of Vicki and Andy, Todd, and Scott and Tracy. Devoted grandpa to Arianna, Talia, Nathan, and Sabrina. Brother of Lorraine Wilkinson (late Glen), Mildred and her husband Larry Hewitt, Muriel "Babe" Sprung (late Doug), and Brenda Copp. Sadly missed by his mother-in-law Ruby Ransome; sister-in-law Terry Lynn and her husband George Branton; and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Chester and Muriel. John's family invite friends to gather with them at the Thomas C. Whitcroft Funeral Home & Chapel, Sauble Beach (519) 422-0041 on Thursday, May 12, 2011 for a time of visitation from 1-3 pm. A graveside service will be conducted at St. Mary's cemetery , Hepworth at 3:30 pm. Cremation has taken place. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

1933 - 2011

Thompson, Alf - of Colpoy's Bay, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Monday, April 25, 2011. George Alford "Alf" Thompson at the age of 78 years. Loving husband and best friend to the former Ruth Loraine Britt for 11 years. Beloved Papa to Tiki. Devoted father of Dan (partner Cynthia), and Nancy Heard (partner Ray), all of Tobermory, and Barbara Thompson (husband Nick Tooley), of St. John, NB; and Ruth's children Karen (husband David Best), of Sarnia, and Christine Rac, of Owen Sound. Cherished grandfather of 9, and great-grandfather of 14. Brother of Betty (Don Hill), of Kelowna, BC, and Sylvia (Dennis Miller), of Oshawa. Sadly missed by his brothers-in- law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents George and Ida; step-father victor Walpole; brother Doug and his wife Marion; and great-granddaughter Amy. Alf is a Past- President of the Tobermory Rotary Club; and former owner of the Tobermory Village Campground. Alf will be remembered by many for his vast repertoire of jokes, and love of the outdoors and golfing. His honesty and integrity was something people admired upon meeting this modest man of many talents. Family invite friends to gather with them at the Oxenden cemetery on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11 o'clock, where a graveside service to celebrate Alf's life will be conducted. Pastor Billy Strachan officiating. Cremation has taken place. Following the service, family hope you will join them for a time to share memories and a light lunch at the Thomas C. McCurdy, Lorraine - of Allenford, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Owen Sound on Sunday, April 17, 2011. The former Lorraine Elizabeth Morrison in her 71st year. Loving wife and best friend of the late Jack McCurdy (2003) for 40 years. Cherished mother of John McCurdy, Louise Kell, Bill McCurdy, and Susan McCurdy. Devoted grandma of Sean Kell and Richard McCurdy. Sister of Murray Morrison (June), Vivian (Glen Parkinson), Wayne Morrison (Betty), and Ross Morrison (partner Sharon). Sister-in-law of Linda Morrison, Dave McCurdy (Karen), Shirley McCurdy (late Don), and Dorothy (Don Fielding). Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and faithful companion "Peekaboo". Predeceased by her parents Jim and Louise Morrison; brother Doug; and sister Carol Rush. Family invite friends to gather with them at the Thomas C. Jim Laverty
1937 - 2011

Laverty, James (Jim) William - peacefully at his Sauble Beach home on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 in his 74th year. Beloved husband and partner of the former Kaye Henry for 51 years. Cherished father of Grant (Laura Lee), of Orangeville, and Julie (partner Shawn Irvin), of Alliston. Proud grandfather of Natasha, Clayton and Leeatte. Survived by his sister Lois Moffatt, of Brampton. Predeceased by his sister Shirley Ann McKelvey. Jim was well known for many years in the cattle business and for his love of horses. Cremation has taken place. The family invite friends to join them for a celebration of Jim's life, sharing memories, food and music on Sunday, April 10, 2011 at the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 586, Hepworth from 1 - 4 pm. Hallam, Donald "Don" - of Tobermory, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Lion's Head on Saturday, April 2, 2011. Donald Arthur Hallam at the age of 81 years. Loving husband and best friend for over 30 years to Edith "Bunny" Burr (nee Adams). Cherished father of Diane (Richard Sylvester), of Booth's Harbour, Karen (Rob Eldridge), of Sarnia, Heather (Brian Edwards), of Point Edward, Patricia Burr-Teeple (Brad Teeple), of Port Huron, Jim Burr (Marion) and Ken Burr (Jan), both of Sarnia. Much loved by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Jack (Nancy), Nancy (Dick Sneddon), Jane (Allan Slater), all of Stratford, and Helen Groome, of Huntsville; brother-in-law of Lloyd Adams (Vi) and Cleve Adams (Jean), both of Tobermory, David Adams, of Sault St. Marie, Marold Bartley (Clarence), of Dyer's Bay, and Betty Adams, of Tobermory. Sadly missed by his daughter-in-law Sharon Hallam and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his parents Arthur and Eva (nee Leonard); his son Don Hallam Jr.; his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Sonny Adams, Tom Adams, Ray Adams, Pat and her husband Jason Durance, Edna and her husband "Shep" Sheppard, and Katherine McNair. Don will be remembered for his love of dancing (especially with Bunny) and woodworking. He was a former Rotary member; loved to participate and enjoy the Men's Breakfasts. He was a devoted volunteer who gave 14 years to Meals-on-Wheels and as a driver for the Canadian Cancer Society. Don's family invite their friends to gather with them for a celebration of Don's life at the Tobermory United Church on Saturday, April 9, 2011 at 2:30 pm. Interment in Dunk's Bay cemetery. Loving husband and best friend of the former Sheila DaSilva for over 55 years. Proud father of Tony and his wife Susan, of Niagara Falls; Michael an his wife Heather, of Lac La Biche, Alberta; and Andrew and his partner Tracey Dickey, of RR#5 Owen Sound. Cherished grandfather of Tyler, Timothy, Emily, Jennifer, Christopher, and Phillip. Brother of Eugene, of Brampton, and Dory and her husband Frank Seeley, of Newmarket; brother-in-law of Sidonia DaSilva, of Georgetown, Guyana. Sadly missed by his nieces, nephews and many friends. Predeceased by his parents Henry and Kathleen (nee Tully); sister Maureen McKendrick; brothers-in-law David McKendrick and Johnny DaSilva; and sisters-in-law Dee Dempsey, Juliet DaSilva, and Barbara DaSilva. Bernard served during WWII with the British Merchant Marines. Family invite friends to gather at the Thomas C. Hepburn, Hector - of Wiarton, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Tuesday, March 22, 2011. Hector Lawrance Hepburn at the age of 66 years. Loving husband of the late former Leona "Lee" Vancoughnett (2008). Proud father of Christine Emerson, Alister (Rob Teneycke), and Keith Davis (Shelly). Grandfather of 15 (especially his buddy Chad); great-grandfather of 13. Brother of Kathleen (Nelson Watson), Betty (Allan White), Joyce (Lloyd Bowins), Fred (Joanne), and Rob (Francine). Sadly missed by his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many friends. Hector is predeceased by his parents Tom and Sarah Hepburn; son Clinton Watson; three grandchildren; brothers James, Harold, Carl, and Clifford; sisters Darlene, Flo, and Lizzie. The former Janice Margaret Robb at the age of 59 years Loving wife and best friend to Ed for over 38 years. Cherished mother of Meredith, of Owen Sound, Darryl and his wife Kristin, of Waterloo, and Dianne, of Owen Sound. Janice was looking forward to being a grandmother in September. Devoted daughter of Nora and the late Gordon Robb (Nov. 2009). Sister of Shirley (William Irvin), of Lucknow, Glenn Robb (partner Bonnie), of Kintail, and Sandra (Bob Darling), of Chesley. Sadly missed by her sisters-in-law Keitha (Francis Riley), of Walkerton, and Wanda McLay, of Stratford; and her many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law Gordon and Wilda McCutcheon; sister-in-law Linda McCutcheon. Family invite friends to call at the Thomas C. Caswell, Marr Allan - Veteran of WWII - of Wiarton, peacefully at Golden Dawn Nursing Home, Lion's Head on Monday, March 7, 2011 in his 92nd year. Loving husband of the late Lillian McKnight, and the late Iola Morrison. Survived by Lillian's daughters Joyce McKnight (late John McCreadie), of Burlington, Marilyn Cole (late Brock), of Wiarton, and Barbara and her husband Doug Arnold, of RR#3 Wiarton. Sadly missed by the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brother of Orwill Caswell and his wife Doris, of Owen Sound. Never forgotten by his nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his loving sister True and her husband Ivan Bell. Marr served his country as a Sergeant at Camp Borden, and was a proud member of Royal Canadian Legion Br. 6 Owen Sound. A memorial service to celebrate Marr's life will be conducted from the chapel of the Thomas C. Whitcroft Peninsula Chapel, 272 Berford St., Wiarton (519) 534-5341 on Friday, March 11, 2011 at 2 pm. Family invite friends to remain at the chapel following the service to share stories and refreshments. Cremation has taken place. Interment in Greenwood cemetery , Owen Sound. Donations to Golden Dawn Nursing Home would be appreciated.

Murray Howe
1948 - 2011

Howe, Murray Garnet - of Wiarton, peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services Wiarton on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at the age of 62 years. Murray will be forever remembered by his loving partner Mary Anne Ainslie (nee Rouse), and her daughter Teresa Ainslie, of Wiarton, and grand-daughter Katie. Sadly missed by his brother Rick Howe and his wife Sammy, of Owen Sound; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Murray is survived by his many friends. Predeceased by his parents Garnet and Cora; and Mary Anne's son Terry Ainslie (1994). In accordance with Murray's wishes there will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. A public graveside service will be announced in the spring at Bayview cemetery , Wiarton. Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Funeral plans arranged at the Thomas C.
