September 6, 1911 - February 15, 2001

Suddenly, at his residence, on Thursday, February 15, 2001, in his 90th year.

Beloved husband of the late Antonette (Jean). Predeceased by a son and survived by a daughter and five grandchildren. Dear brother-in-law and friend of Lucy Rapaich, Constance Lovranski, Betty Rotigliano and Angeline Rotigliano.

Very special uncle to Florence and Peter DeMacio, Sharon, John, Heather and Michael Davidson, Len, Cindy, David and Nicholas Olynyk, Lorri, Lee, Ryan, Karleigh and Lauren Smyth. John will be sadly missed by many other nieces and nephews.

Visitation at the FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) Sunday 7-9 p.m., Monday noon to 1 p.m., followed by Service in the Chapel at 1 p.m. with Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Ralph Augustino Ciavarella
July 2, 1937 - February 25, 2001

Peacefully at the Henderson General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, February 25th, 2001 in his 64th year.

Beloved husband of Pauline (Caciolo) of 40 years. Dear father of Christopher and his wife Nada of Burlington, and Catherine of Toronto.

Ralph will be sadly missed by his precious grandchildren, Anthony David and Marco Dante.

Predeceased by his parents Doris and Joseph Ciavarella.

Ralph was retired from Stelco after working over 40 years.

Frank Joseph Mercanti
March 25, 1933 - February 21, 2001

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of Frank Joseph Mercanti at McMaster University Medical Centre on Wednesday, February 21, 2001, beloved husband of the late Elaine Joan Male, in his 68th year.

Loving father of Laurie and her fiancé Doug Munn, Debbie and Tony Pollice, Joan and Nick Mastroluisi, Dan and Aileen, Frank Jr. and Patricia, Adam and Anne, Patrick and Diana, Paul and Tracey, Lynn, Marnie, Christopher and Cindy.

Dearly loved grandfather of Tim, Diana, Erin, Katie, Ellen, Lillie, Andrea, Emily, Amy, Daniel, Leah, Joey, Julianna, Veronique, Olivia, Anthony, Michael, Natalie, Rebecca, Robyn and Paige.

Loved son of the late Eugenio and the late Giuseppina Mercanti. Dear brother of the late Gloria Mercanti, the late Ralph Mercanti and the late Tillie Mason. Brother-in-law of Louis Mason, Dorothy Boscombe, Bill and Joan Langley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Special thanks from the family to Warren Boom for his unselfish act of kindness and generosity towards our father.

Resting at the FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton St. East (near James). The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church (Herkimer & Lock Streets). Entombment in our Lady of Victory Mausoleum. Vigil prayers Friday at 8 p.m.

May 6, 1967 - March 4, 2001

With unwavering spirit, courage and faith, Teresa passed away on the 4th day of March, 2001, in her 34th year.

Teresa, beloved wife of John. Loving mother of Stephanie and Aaron. Cherished daughter of Mary Ann and Michael (Al) McNamara. Daughter-in-law of Frances and Alfiero. Dearest sister of Michael and Christina, Ann-Marie and Alan, Maureen and Glen, Paul and Tammy, Colleen and Christopher. Cherished sister-in-law of Bernard, Sandra and Victoria. Teresa will be missed by many nieces and nephews as well as many aunts and uncles.

Visitation will be at FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 James Street East (near James), on Tuesday and Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers will be on Wednesday at 8:30 p.m. (in the Funeral Home). Funeral Mass will take place at the Cathedral of Christ the King on Thursday, March 8, 2001 at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of the Angels cemetery (Mud Rd., Stoney Creek)

The family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Cancer Assistance Program (C.A.P.). The family would like to thank the staff at the Cancer Centre and the staff of the Henderson Hospital. Special thanks to nurse Caroline, Dr. Tozer, Dr. Waddell and Dr. Saveriano and the staff of Ward 395.

Giuseppina Fanara (nee Puma)
January 21, 1921 - March 5, 2001

Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Monday, March 5, 2001, at the age of 80.

Beloved wife of the late Lorenzo. Dearly loved sister and sister-in-law of Vincenza and the late Calogero Campanella. Predeceased by her sisters Maria and Concetta and her brothers Calogero, Amadeo and Eduardo all of Italy. Loving Zia of Giovanna Soliveri, Vincenzo and Lilla Campanella, Lina and the late Sam Campanella, Nino and Antonietta Campanella, Nicola and Carmela Campanella, Maria and Lozenzo Butera, Connie and Vince Paladino, Joe and Terri Campanella. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews in Italy, France and Belgium, and great-nieces and nephews in Hamilton.

Giuseppina was Past President on Societá Madri Cristiane of All Soul’s Parish.

Family and friends may call at the FRISCOLANTI FUNERAL CHAPEL, 43 Barton Street East (near James) on Tuesday from 2-9 p.m. Vigil Prayers on Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

Born on September 24, 1912 in Racalmuto, Sicily. Predeceased by five days, beloved wife and friend of Calogero, for 60 years.

Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Crocetta and Giuseppe Giornofelice Giuseppina and Giovanni Chiodo. Beloved grandmother of Tom and Elaine, Charlie and Lorena, Sam, Concetta. Joanne and Luigi, Carmela. Dearest great-grandmother of Joel, Matthew, Matteo, Alyssa and Marco.

Beloved sister and sister-in-law of the late Maria and Giuseppe Rizzo, the late Vincenza and Giuseppe Salvo, the late Calgero and Giovanna Petruzzella, the late Angelo Petruzzella, Giuseppe and Luigina Petruzzella, the late Concetta Petruzzella, the late Alfonsa and Salvatore SanFilippo, Angela and the late Giovanni Petruzzella, Luigi and the late Camilla Cino, the late Concetta Fuca, Crocetta and Filippo Seminerio, Giuseppina and the late Calogero Tulumello, Salvatore and Melina Fuca. Survived by many relatives in Canada, Italy, Belgium and the U.S.A.

A special thank you to the Emergency Staff at the Hamilton General Hospital and to the Townsview Lifecare Centre.

Beloved husband of Agata. Much loved father and father-in-law of Linda and Ivan Viviani, Mary and Pat Caruso, Susy and Joe Italiano. Adoring Nonno of Johnny, Anthony, Alisa, Anthony and Leah.

Dear brother and brother-in-law of the late Antonio Bozzo, the late Julia and Ignazio Filice, the late Ignazio and Angelina Bozzo, the late Santo and Assunta Bozzo, the late Eugenio and Giovanna Bozzo, the late Domenico and Assunta Bozzo, the late Teresina and Michele Filice, the late Agata and Giuseppe Miceli, Serafina and the late Ippolito Bozzo, Angela and Sante Bozzo, Gina and Antonio Gennaccaro, Frank and Teresa Bozzo, Giuseppe and the late Ida Facciuolo. Antonio will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was a retired employee of Stelco with 22 years of service and a member of the Donnici Social Club.
