Edward Albert Heppel
August 20, 1934 - August 19, 1999

Funeral arrangements by Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home (Burlington Chapel)

Peacefully at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington, Ontario on August 19, 1999, after a courageous battle with cancer in his 65th year, his loving family by his side.

Loving father of Brian (Diane) Heppel, of Burlington, Karen (Phil) Labossiere of Orleans, Ontario and Kevin Heppel of Burlington. Much loved and cherished grandfather of Tyler, Alex, Toni and Aaron. Dear brother of Larry (Linda) Heppel and sister Betty (Bob) Gee and sister-in-law Shirley Heppel.

Predeceased by brother, Gerry Heppel, and parents, Roy and Constance Heppel. Dear relative of John (Bud) Eldershaw, Carolyn Eldershaw, Bernard (Butch) and Rose Eldershaw, Audrey (Pinky) and Ken Haskins, Frank Taylor. Fondly remembered by Ruth Warford (Eldershaw) and the many members of his extended family.

Twenty-five years' active service in the RCN and CF. Lifetime member of the Chief's and Petty Officers Mess, Victoria, British Columbia. Member of the Royal Canadian Naval Association in Burlington and Moose Lodge in Hamilton.

He will be sadly missed by the many lives he has touched.

Memorial Service to be held in his honour at the RCNA Burlington at 760 Brant Street, Monday, August 23, 1999 at 3:00 p.m. His remains will be laid to rest at Halton Hills Memorial Gardens. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in his memory.

November 11, 1953 - March 3, 2000

Suddenly on Friday, March 3, 2000, the Lord took to Himself Peter Bosscher, of Burlington, age 46 years. Loving husband of Geraldine (nee Vanderwoude) Bosscher.

Loved father of Alicia Harsevoort and her husband Rich of Hamilton, Nadine, Krista, Ian and Derek all at home. Beloved son of E. John and Alie Bosscher. Dear brother of John and Joanne Bosscher, Jerry and Margret Bosscher, Ali and Peter Sikkema, and Fred and Joyce Bosscher, all of Burlington, Meta and Jay Koster of London Ontario. Gerald and Cathy Bosscher of Burlington. Son-in-law of Ike and Swany Vanderwoude of Burlington. Brother-in-law of Sanford and Donna Vanderwoude of Ancaster, Karen and Eric Pfrunder of Paris France. Nancey and Rick Boonstra and Judy and Cam Peacock, all of Burlington.

Peter will sadly missed and fondly remember by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Peter was the owner for 25 years on March 1, 2000 of Camelot Drapery Burlington Limited.

Visatation at SMITH’S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line Burlington on Tuesday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Ebenezer Canadian Reformed Church, 607 Dynes Rd, Burlington on Wednesday, March 8, 2000 at 11a.m.

Loving father of Mary Pedersen and Manuel Cassiano, both of Hamilton, John Cassiano and Pegeen Stopford of Kingston, Fred Cassiano and Salome Bukateci and Bob Cassaino and his wife Alison, all of Hamilton. Dear Granpa of Dane, Jace, Brian, Zane, Beja, Akiva, Rosie, Angie and William. Sorely missed by his loyal companion Farley.

Bill was President of the Optimist Club of Carlisle, past Distinguished Governor of the Central Ontario District and past Vice President of Optimists International.

Edwin John (Jack) Ryan
March 10, 1914 - August 8, 2000

Suddenly after a brief illness, at the Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital, Burlington, on Tuesday, August 8, 2000, Jack Ryan of Burlington, age 86 years.

Devoted husband of Eileen Ryan. Much loved father of Judith Ryan and her husband H. Ted. G. Andrews of Guelph. Jack is also lovingly remembered by his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bernice and Wesley Coombe of Palm Desert, California and their extended family.

Jack will long be remembered for his musical talents, trained as a classical pianist he soon discovered popular music and made it his own. Starting out as a trio in the Hamilton Beach, he quickly expanded to a 12 piece band. For the next 20 years, Hamiltonians danced to the sweet tunes of “Jack Ryan and his El Moroccans”.

In later years, Jack himself composed over 30 musical ballads for the piano. Together with his wife Eileen, his wife of 64 years, they wrote many songs and lyrics to celebrate the lives of family and friends. They also collaborated on a National Anthem – True North, and a Christmas hymn. Jack was a master of the piano playing everything from Boogie Woogie to George Gershwin. Even into his 80’s he continued to entertain us on special occasions and “Happy Hours”. We will all miss Jack enormously but his music will live on and will continue forever.

Ronald Hodara Celebrant. Entombment at Holy Souls Mausoleum, Holy Sepulchre cemetery , Burlington.

Dr. George Kenyon Scott (DDS)
February 10, 1936 - September 2, 2000

Peacefully and with great dignity at the Henderson General Hospital, Hamilton, Ontario, on Saturday, September 2, 2000, Dr. George K. Scott of Burlington in his 65th year.

Beloved husband of 41 years of the late Isobel (nee Gough) Scott. Much loved father of Ian Scott and his wife Lee Taylor of Toronto, Katie Scott of Canmore, AB, and Leslie Corrigan and her husband John, also of Toronto.

Cherished grandfather of Adam, Gabriella, Sarah, and Danielle. He will be lovingly remembered by his many friends and missed by his colleagues and the wonderful team at his practice.

George was a well known and a highly respected Hamilton area dentist with many accomplishments. Specializing in prosthodontics, he graduated and taught at the University of Toronto School of Dentistry.

George was past president of the Hamilton Academy of Dentistry and the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics and a charter member of the International Dental Study Club, along with many other associations and memberships.

Often, he lectured across Canada and the United States and was currently serving as an editorial consultant for Oral Health Magazine. He was also a long time and enthusiastic member of the Sparrow Lake Sailing Club and the Craigleith Ski Club. The family have been touched by the many well wishes from friends, colleagues and patients.

Visitation at SMITH'S FUNERAL HOME, 1167 Guelph Line (one stoplight north of QEW), BURLINGTON (632-3333) on Monday 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A Service of Remembrance will be held at Aldershot Presbyterian Church, 937 LaSalle Park Road, Burlington on Wednesday, September 6, 2000, at 1 p.m.

Beloved husband of Wilhelmina “Mien” (nee van der Meijden) VanderBoom. Dear father of the late Peter VanderBoom and his wife Femmie, John VanderBoom and his wife Margaret, all of Burlington and Ed VanderBoom and his wife Diane of Langley, British Columbia.

Loved Opa of Marianne, Peter (Chandra), Richard (Angie), Ken, Robert (Rosalyn), Jonathan, David, Kim (Nathan), Joni and Karen, and great-grandchildren Vanessa, Justin and Mitchell. Brother of Sietse VanderBoom and his wife Jo of Ancaster. Predeceased by one brother and three sisters in The Netherlands. Also survived by his sister-in-law Trijntje van der Meijden in The Netherlands.

April 30, 1982 - June 11, 2000

Suddenly, as the result of an accident, at the Hamilton General Hospital on Sunday, June 11, 2000.

Desiree Elizabeth Watts of Burlington, age 18 years. Much loved and cherished daughter of Ronald “Ron” and Elizabeth “Liz” Watts. Devoted sister of Bryan, Micaela and Colette. Beloved granddaughter of Caroline Nichols and the late Jack Nichols, Flo Watts and the late Joseph Watts. Eva and Peter Cimesa, Eliana Moreno and the late Rosendo Moreno. Desiree will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Desiree was an Honour Student at Aldershot High School where she served as a role model and mentor, active member of Park Bible Church, a camp Counsellor where she was known as “Spark” to reflect her spirit of adventure. An avid thrill seeker, she displayed a zest for life.
