January 11, 2003 marks the day Alice left to go to her eternal home with the heavenly Father and Lord Jesus.
Anxiously awaiting her arrival will be her husband Tony and young son Tommy. Predeceased are her parents, Victor and Emma Sundmark, sisters Tennie Nelson, Astrid Choptiany, brother Carl Sundmark, granddaughter-in-law Myna Rapinda and various friends.
She leaves to mourn, her daughters Linda (Tom) Pencoff, Judi (Robin) Sinfield, sister Doris (Toad) Carlson and brother Alf (Pat) Sundmark. Alice also leaves behind grandchildren Cindy (Chris) Boucher, Randy (Tanya) Vandall, Derrick (Pam) Vandall, Dan (Bonnie) Rapinda, Jeff (Michelle) Rapinda and Carrie Rapinda, great grandchildren Chris Boucher Jr., Jordan Boucher, Crystal Vandall, Tara Vandall, Karli Rapinda, Erin sunderland, Taylor Vandall and Cole Rapinda.
Alice was born in the small town of Clam William, Manitoba and was raised in the Erickson, Hilltop area. In 1940 she moved to Kenora to seek employment where she met and married Tony Momotiuk in 1942 and raised her three children. The Lord called her son Tommy home in 1963 at the age of eight.
She later married Jacob Toews in 1989 and together they raised Jacob's son Danny.
Alice spent her life caring for her family and always doing for others. many good times were had at the cottage on Norway Lake and with her church family.
She will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral Services will be held at Kenora Bible Church on Brinkman Road on Saturday, January 18, 2003 at 10:00 a.m.
Pallbearers are: Dan Rapinda, Jeff Rapinda, Derrick Vandall, Randy Vandall, Mel Rapinda, Chris Boucher.

Russell Mallett
Russell Mallett of Northwest Angle passed on peacefully January 14, 2003, lovingly held and surrounded by his family.
Russell was predeceased by his parents Ethel and Solomon Mallett, sister Vera, brother Frank, grandson Darryl Blackhawk and his youngest son Dwayne Blackhawk.
Our dearly beloved Paba was a beautiful person. He had many friends. he had a great sense of humour and enjoyed teasing people. He joined the Army and fought for our country in WWII. he learned to appreciate life and enjoyed it. As a grandfather, he was loving and playful with his grandchildren.
We take comfort in knowing he accepted the Lord as his saviour and that he is in God's care in a much more beautiful place.
Russell will be lovingly missed by his wife Elsie Blackhawk, daughters Margaret (Charles) Kakegamic, Elaine Blackhawk (Otto), Joyce Blackhawk (John), Annette (Roberto) Sermeno, Grace (Adam) Gladu, Raven Hart and Cree Hart, sons Melvin Blackhawk, Alex (Laura) Mallett, Albert (Linda) Mallett. He also will be missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, his sisters Mabel, Elaine, Violet and brothers melvin and Irving and many cousins and nephews and nieces.

A wake will be held Thursday, January 16, 2003 at 5:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church. The service will be held Friday, January 17, 2003 at 1:00 p.m at First Baptist Church.

Louie Morrison
Mr Louie Morrison, aged 69 years passed away on Saturday January 11, 2003 at Shoal Lake 40.
Born at Shoal Lake he has resided there all his life. He was educated at the Cecelia Jeffrey School at Shoal Lake.
Louie was well known as a traditional healer to many people. He had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh. He enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.
Louie was predeceased by his parents Alex and Catherine. Surviving is his brother Joe Morrison and 5 children as well as many nieces and nephews.
There will be a Wake beginning on Tuesday afternoon, January 14, 2003 at the community hall of Shoal Lake 40.
Funeral services will follow on Wednesday January 15, 2003 with interment at the Shoal Lake cemetery.

George Holmstrom
Mr. George Holmstrom, "Papa George" passed away peacefully at Lake of the Woods District Hospital on January 16, 2003.
George was born December 29, 1926 in Kenora, Ontario.
He is predeceased by his parents Hjalmer & Elvira Holmstrom.
Survived by his sister Helen (Jim) Meikle. His daughters who loved him. Jill Pernsky (John Markus) and Jan Longe, his grandchildren Angela Pernsky, Jamie Longe and Andrew Longe all of whom he was extremely fond of.
He worked all of his career for the C.P.R. and retired as a conductor in 1981.
He was an avid curler and participated in the McDonald brier in his late teens. He curled until he couldn't move but continued as an armchair participant. he followed the Silver Broom to many places. He loved to travel and he loved to eat. He also took great pleasure in his golfing and enjoyed his outings with his golf buddies.
He lived his religion and was kind and soft spoken and a gentle man. He gave freely of his time and was generous to others. he will be sadly missed by all.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of Latter Day Saints with interment to follow at Lake of the Woods cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Harvey Longe, Jamie Longe, Andrew Longe, John Markus, Greg Meikle and Sonny Pernsky.

Gertrude Alexander
Mrs. Gertrude (Nelson) Alexander, a resident of Pinecrest Nursing Home passed away on January 19, 2003 at Lake of the Woods District Hospital, at the age of 79 years.
Gertrude was predeceased by her first husband Ole Nelson, and her second husband Charles Alexander, infant son James, brother Bud and sister Maggie.
She will be lovingly missed by her five children and their families, brother Larry and sister-in-law Jo.
Gertrude was past president of the Keewatin Legion Br. #13, actively involved with both the Keewatin and Kenora Legions.
Gertrude had the ability to knit or crochet just about anything leaving family members with many handmade gifts, she enjoyed crafts of all kinds, loved gardening, traveling, gambling, the family will remember Gertrude as never being idle, always keeping busy.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2003 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Centre with Pastor Rob Wittmeier with interment at Lake of the Woods cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
