Beloved husband of Viola (Garton). Loving father of daughters Anne Powell (Laurie Mason), Nora Powell (Tim Head), stepdaughters Naomi Lee (Dave Lee) and Nola Garton (John Evans- deceased).
Loving grandfather of Marc, Lauren, and Lesley Head and Courtney Evans.
Survived by sisters Laura Tate, Anne Gordon (Bill) and sister-in-law Doreen Powell. Also, survived by brother Bill Powell (Betty). Predeceased by first wife Helen (Demorest- 1966), sister Carolyn Hutcheon (1967) and brother David Powell (2000).
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place. Interment at a later date in Sarnia.
The family would like to thank Dr. Rene Martin and the staff at St. Joseph’s Hospital for their kindness, and express their great appreciation to Diana Wells and Vicky Tomicevic for their tremendous support over the last few years.

Kenneth (Ken) Downing

With his family at his side, in dignity and peace, Mr. Kenneth Downing passed away at London Health Sciences Centre, South Street Campus on Saturday, January 6, 2001 in his 81st year.
Predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Edith (Massey) 1998 and his sister Kathleen Victoria Mercer (1992).
Survived by his only son Paul and his wife Patricia. Sadly missed by his grandson Cory and step-granddaughter Meaghan Rose.
A WWII Veteran (Member of Royal Canadian Legion Victory Branch 317), retired member of I.B.E.W. Local 120, and electrician in London and area for 30 years, Ken has left many friends and associates. His life will be remembered by many nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel (1997 Dundas St. E. at Wavell) 1 hour prior to Service of Remembrance which will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2001 at 1 p.m. Cremation has taken place. Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.
Memorial gifts may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society designated to Colon-Rectal Research, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or charity of choice.
Theodore (Ted) Matheson
June 22, 1950 - January 29, 2001

Peacefully at his home on January 26, 2001 with his good friends Dave and Mary by his side.
Sergeant Samuel “Donald” Hunt, a veteran of the army in World War II passed away in his 89th year.
In the late 40’s to early 60’s Don was London’s top flight badminton player and a great help in coaching and introducing new players to the sport as well as match maker. Don was a fan of all sports. As a spectator traveling to Toronto, no matter how bad the weather, to see the “Leafs” and also to see the “Blue Jay’s” play.
On his last day he wanted to get the latest sports results.
Predeceased by his loving parents Ewart and Edith Hunt. Also predeceased by wife Evelyn Hunt (Ling), sister Marjorie Wilson, and nephew-in-law John Hoover.
Survived by brother Ken of Dundas, sister Ellen of London, loving niece Linda and great niece Laurel. Also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Parkwood Hospital- Palliative Care Unit or a charity of your choice.

Loving mother of Eleanor (John) Marsh, Harold Morley (British Columbia), Charles (Eva) Morley (Calgary), Lorraine Watkin (North Carolina), Karen (John) Curry, Janice Couvillion.
Also survived by 18 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.

Unexpectedly on Monday, February 12th, 2001, Michael Peter Devine of London, in his 24th year.
Loving son of Johanna and Russell Devine. Dear brother of Christopher and his wife Jean. Fiancée of Christine. Proud grandson of Gwen. Loved by aunts and uncles Ginny and Bill, Mike, Debbie and Steve, Lynn and Larry, Ritchie, Pierrette and Terry, Kari-Lynn and Jeff, Willy and John, Rita and John and Peter. Numerous cousins also survive. Predeceased by his grandparents William Devine, Peter and Allegonda Van Lieshout and cousin Jeffrey Lagrois.

Alex was a dedicated employee of the London Transit Commission for 43 years.
