August 5, 1934 - May 21, 2001

Surrounded by his loving family Albert “Al” passed away, May 21st, 2001 at Victoria Hospital, Westminister Campus, London, at the age of 66 years. Devoted husband and best friend of Barbara McCoy (nee Furness) of 44 years.

Cherished father of Pamela (Rolf) Valters of London, Sharon (Tom) Rutledge of Sarnia, and Richard McCoy of Vancouver, B.C. Beloved grandfather of Brian and Linda Valters, Elizabeth, Charlie, Nicole and Ben Rutledge. Dear brother of Win Wells, Jerry McCoy, Bruce McCoy and Cliff McCoy all of London.

Family will receive friends and relatives at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell) on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2001 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Community of Christ Church, Brydges St. Congregation, 1550 Brydges Street, London on Thursday, May 24th, 2001 at 2 p.m. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens to follow.

In remembrance of Al, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Parkwood Hospital-Palliative Care Unit or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

At St. Joseph’s Health Centre on Sunday, May 20th, 2001, Baby Jacob Connor Rensen, loved son of Melissa and Andrew Rensen.

Jacob will be sadly missed by his grandparents Henry and Wilma Rensen and Bev and Lew Mason. Cherished nephew of Ivonne and Garry, Mickey and Lorne, Mary, Mike and Cindy, Marna and Duane, Monica and Bill and Margaret and Gary. Fondly remembered by his many cousins and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held at Memorial Funeral Home (1559 Fanshawe Park Rd., East) on Wednesday, May 23rd, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. with an Interment at St. Peter’s cemetery to follow.

Mary Johanna Vanderaa

Mary was called home to be with her Lord on Friday, May 18, 2001 at the age of 61.

Predeceased by her parents Mary and John Vanderaa, brothers and sister Gerrard and Jantje Vanderaa and Bertha Berkmortel. Loving sister of Helene Van Vugt of West Lorne, Dina (Jose) Popeliere of Belgium, Leo (Estelle) Vanderaa of Prince Edward Island, Willie (Bert) Smets of Prince Edward Island, Martha (Herman) Groniger of Rodney, John (Lynda) Vanderaa of London, Theo (Mary) Vanderaa of Parkhill, Martin (Vaunda) Vanderaa of Prince Edward Island, Elmer (Clara) Vanderaa of Prince Edward Island, Dorothy (Howard) Soloman of London, Bill (Val)Vanderaa of Prince Edward Island and Joanne Vanderaa of Southwold. Sadly missed by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

A Christian Celebration of Life was held at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel (1997 Dundas Street East) on Saturday, May 19, 2001 at 5:00 p.m.

Edna Baker
April 2,1917 - May 8, 2001

At home on Tuesday May 8, 2001, Edna Baker, at the age of 84. Beloved wife of the late Frank Carlton Baker (November 4, 2000)

Loving mother of the late Paul Carlton Baker (1996). Sister of Muriel Field of Birmingham, England and Phyllis Pitman of London. Grandmother to Geoffrey Baker of St. Thomas and Valery Baker of London. Sister-in-law of Joyce Windzar of Adelaide, Australia. Nieces and nephews in Australia and Ontario.

In 1993, Edna was awarded the Commemorative Medal for the 125th Anniversary of The Confederation of Canada for her hard work and determination in moving the one-room school, S.S. #19 from Fanshawe Park Road East to Pioneer Village. As Edna explained, “It was to save part of our heritage to show future generations.” Edna was also involved with The Red Cross, in arts and crafts, Western Counties Wing, instructing veterans from 1967-1982. She was also a member of the London District Weavers and Spinners Guild.

There will be no visitation but a Funeral Service will be held at the Memorial Funeral Home, 1559 Fanshawe Park Road (east of Highbury) on Friday, May 11, 2001 at 1:00 PM The Right Reverend D.D. Jones of St. Paul’s Cathedral officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Warren Richard Copp
April 13, 1925 - May 22, 2001

passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Tuesday, May 22nd 2001 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of Rosetta Copp (nee Scanlan) for 56 years.

Loving father of Rick (Joyce) Copp, Mike (Cheryl) Copp, John (Beverly) Copp. Loved grandfather of Jennifer, Rebecca, Timothy, Michael Copp, Leanne (Larry) Saunders, Jeffrey (Karen) Copp and two great-grandchildren Morgan and Brook Saunders. Dear brother of Ross (Hazel) Copp and brother-in-law of Larry Warren and Helen Warren.

Family will receive friends and relatives at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas St. E. London (at Wavell) from 7-9 p.m. Friday. Funeral Service 11 a.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. Cremation to take place.

Loving, devoted wife of Bill England. Cherished mother of Tim Mould, Tyler Mould and Questa Mould. Beloved daughter of Harold Best and the late Sadie Best. Loving daughter-in-law of Tom and Marie England. Dear sister of Ted Best, Dorothy Snook, Dave Best, Bernadette McCafferty, Marie Anderson, Judy Best and the Late Kevan Best (1998) and Harold Best (1987). Christine will be sadly missed by several nieces and nephews.

Family will be receive friends and relatives at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas St. East (at Wavell), London from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Services 2 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn Chapel. Cremation to take place.

Grandmother of Sheri-Lynne and Kimberley all of London. Dear sister of Grace Harnett, Alverna Watson, Michael Jardine and predeceased by Beryl Bailey, Edith Lockwood, Jean Burns and Slater Jardine.

She will be dearly missed by the family, but finally at a peaceful rest.

Harold 'Jim' Suffolf
January 24, 1918 - May 28, 2001

passed away on Monday, May 28, 2001 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in his 84th year. Husband of Joan Suffolk for 54 years.

Brother-in-law of Pauline (Robert) McGuire-Wheeler, Connie McGuire and family. Uncle of Emilie (Rob) Bailey, Frank (Evelyn) Sowa, Richard (Lorette) Sowa, and great uncle of Sheila, Johnathan, Daniel and Grace. Jim will also be missed by cousins Denis, Val and Helena Cox.

A Memorial Service will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel, 1997 Dundas Street East (at Wavell) at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2001. Interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

George William Wood
January 28, 1922 - July 9, 2001

Peacefully at University Hospital on Monday, July 9th, 2001, George William Wood in his 80th year. Loving husband and best friend of Leta J. Wood for 56 years. George leaves behind his two sons Greg and his wife Pam, and their children Adam and his wife Kristie, Ethan and Katie, Murray and his wife Shirlee and their children Brennan, Ainslee, Jameson and Harrison. Predeceased by his parents Wilbert and Winn Wood.

George was the former Director of Veterans Land Act from 1946-1982 and also was a life member of the Southwest Optimist Club.

A visitation will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel (1997 Dundas Street, East, at Wavell) on Thursday, July 12th, 2001 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Family and friends are invited to join the family for a reception at Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel following the Memorial Service.
