Died in Croatia, February 6, 2002 in here 78th year. Beloved wife of 56 years of George, dear mother of Zvonko (Vicky), St. Catharines; Monsignor Vladimir, Rector of the Cathedral of St. Catharine of Alexandria; Ivan (Angela), Windsor; Zlatko (Nada), Croatia; Jure Jr. (Mary) Windsor; grandmother of Tom, John, Angela, Veronica, Valerie, Antonio, Erica, Peter, Melanie, Catherine and Michael. Sister of Ivan (Ana) Campden; Nick and Angela in Croatia. Extended family in Ontario and Croatia.

Burial on Saturday, February 9th in Croatia. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, March 2nd, at 11 a.m. at the Cathedral of St. Catharines of Alexandria, 67 Church Street, St. Catharines. Arrangements entrusted to the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel.

On Saturday, March 16, 2002 at the Henderson Hospital, Hamilton, Lily Testa of St. Catharines, in her 61st year. Beloved wife of 38 years to Frank. Dear mother of Jim Testa of St. Catharines, Mary-Anne Sawchyn and husband Kevin of St. Catharines and Dave Testa and wife Angela of Cambridge. Loving Nonna of Hannah. Survived by her parents Francesco and Pasqualina Felice, brother Angelo and wife Giuseppina of Matrice, Italy. She will be remembered by her sisters-in-law Michelina Testa, Libera Testa and Nicola Testa. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Angelo Testa, Angelo Maselli and Dominic Petraroia.

Family will receive friends at the PATRICK J. DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 39 Court Street (downtown) on Monday evening from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Assumption Church on Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at ten o'clock. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Mausoleum. Vigil prayers Tuesday at 3 p.m.

Memorial contributions to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

James Joseph Stack

Died December 15, 2001 at West Park Health Centre in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Stack (Myers) (1989). Loved father of Jim & Kitty Stack, Pat & Ron Gonder, Mike & Nancy Stack. Son-in-law, Parnell Matthieu. Predeceased by his daughter Joanne Matthieu December 24, 1999.

Loving grandfather and great grandfather of Jimmy & Kathy Stack their children, Jocelyn, James K., Connor- Mary Ellen and Kim Irvine, their children Gordon, Cameron,- Bill Stack,- Paul & Linda Stack their children Tyler, Ryan. Carl Sharalee Gonder, their children Shayna, Jabe- Joellen & Mike Spacek, their children Julia, Christopher.-Jack Gonder.- Marie & Matt Reilly their daughter Madelyn, Tim Stack. Mr. Stack was predeceased by his broother and 4 sisters. He is fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Stack was a lifelong resident of St. Catharines and a member of St. Denis Roman Catholic Church. James retired in 1974 from Lightning Fastener. Mr. Stack was an avid bowler, card player, and enjoyed going to Fort Erie Race Track with his friends.

Mr. Stack is resting at Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel. Visitation Monday December 17th 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday December 18th, 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Prayer Vigil Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass at St. Denis Church Wednesday, December 19th, 2001 at 11:00 a.m.

In lieu of flowers a donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, Heart & Stroke Foundation, or St. Denis Church Building Fund, would be appreciated by the family.

Robert Ken McKean
April 21, 1942 - December 10, 2001

passed away suddenly at home on Monday, December 10, 2001 in is 60th year. Will be sadly missed by his beloved friend of 23 years Margaret Orr, his daughter Kelly Ann Brodhurst, Deborah McKean and his son John and his wife Rhonda. Also survived by his sister Cheryl Ann and her husband Richard Perras, son-in-law Chris Brodhurst, his three grandchildren Amanda, Alex and Cassidy and his 9 step children, 16 step grandchildren and 4 step great grandchildren. Ken was an employee of General Motors- Engine Plant for 38 years and retired May 2001.

Friends will be received a the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street (at King) for visitation on Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the chapel on Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Cremation to follow. Memorial donations to the Hamilton Health Science Foundation, MRI Department, Henderson Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

James Bernard Sullivan
October 27, 1917 - December 11, 2001

On Tuesday December 11, 2001 at the Strathmere Lodge Home for the Aged, Strathroy, James Bernard Sullivan formerly of St. Catharines in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Alice Sullivan (1991). Dear father of John Sullivan & wife Wendy of Mount Brydgers & Patricia Lang & her husband Robert of Thunder bay. Grandfather of Colleen & Ian Sullivan & Alyson Lang. Will be missed by his brother Richard Sullivan of Tennessee, sisters Margaret McAnuff of St. Catharines, Josie Griffith of Vancouver & Betty & husband Bill Walsh of Toronto. Pre-deceased by sisters Violet Ozerkevich and Della McGill and brother Alfred Sullivan.

Family will receive friends at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court Street, St Catharines 905-685-6584 on Friday from 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at St. Julia Church, St. Catharines, on Sunday December 15, 2001 at 9:30 a.m. Cremation to follow.

On Friday, December 21, 2001 at the Toronto General Hospital in his 50th year. Loving husband of Patricia Cirocco, much loved father of Chris Cumming and Julie Cumming both of Fonthill. Survived by his mother Eleanor, brothers Harry and his wife Diane of Fonthill, Gerry and his wife Janet of Niagara Falls and Brian and his wife Tammy of Wainfleet. Son-in-law of Jean and Frank Cirocco. Much loved by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his father Robert.

A memorial service will be held a 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 29th at the Chapel of Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Fonthill. Bruce was a double lung transplant recipient in December of 1991 and so the family would like donations in lieu of flowers to the Toronto Lung Transplant Civitan Club. Loving father of Morag & her husband Bob Demers of Welland and Tom & his wife Martine Mackenzie of St. Catharines. Proud grandfather of Owen, Bronwyn & Connor. Will be remembered by his sister Helen (William) MacKenna of Glasgow, Scotland, brothers Tom (Joanne) Mackenzie & Kenneth (Diz) Mackenzie all of West Australia. Remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Margaret Mullen and Parents Thomas & Margaret Mackenzie.

John was an avid golfer and a member of the Hunter’s Pointe Golf Course. He was also the Former Union VP of U.A. local 666.

Also survived by her sister Shirley McDougall of Kirkland Lake. Predeceased by her sister Myrle and brothers Sydney and Garwin.

Julian (Rachel) of Sarasota, Florida, Norma M. Grant of Hanover, Ontario, Nancy M. Mariano (Emilio) of Cheektowaga, New York, Anne C. Stoner of St. Catharines and Gordon A. Bell (Nancy McMillan) of Grimsby, Ontario. Loving grandmother and great grandmother of many grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews especially Marguerite Berketa of Fort McMurray, Alberta and Mary Lou Finn of North Tonawanda, New York. Predeceased by her son-in-law Ian Grant.

Peacefully (surrounded by her family) on Wednesday, February 6, 2002 in Lethbridge, Alberta aged 93 years. Dorothy Jane (Keating) Francis, loving wife of William John (Bill) Francis. Dear mother of Jane (Don) Mitchener of St. John, N.B. and Carolyn (Tom) Cain of Lethbridge, Alberta. Loving Nonnie to Shaundra, Jamie and Leigh Mitchener and Megan and Ryan Cain. Especially remembered Juliano de Brito. She was predeceased by her parents Jennie Merrall and James Keating.

Dorothy worked for many years before her retirement for Drs. Dickson and Younghusband. She was a charter member of the choir of St. Julia Church, a long-standing member of the Catholic Women’s League and a life member of I.O.D.E. (Theophilus Mack and Earl Mount Batten chapters.)

Dorothy is at the Patrick J. Darte Funeral Chapel, 39 Court St. (at King). Friends are welcome to call on the family at the funeral home on Friday evening, February 8, 2002 from 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated in St. Julia Church, 251 Glenridge Ave. on Saturday morning, February 9, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. Rite of Committal in Pleasentview Memorial Gardens. Vigil Prayers with the C.W.L. present will be recited in the Funeral Home on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m.
