DELINE: Elizabeth "Bessie" Clara, of Chatham, passed away at the CKHA, Public General Campus, on Thurday, March 17, 2005. Born in Barnet, Middlesex, England 94 years ago, daughter of the late Albert Sexton and Clara Tovey. Her husband Percy Deline predeceased in 1996. Surviving are two sons Roy and wife Elvy and Ralph and wife Linda of Chatham, five grandchildren Janet, Murray, Chris and wife Launa, Annette Caryn and Jeffrey and wife Terry-Lynn, four great grandchildren, one brother Fred Sexton and companion Marie Miller of Thamesville, a sister-in-law Monica Cornelius of London. Predeceased by one brother Jack Sexton and and wife Grace,one sister Helen "Nellie" Sexton, a sister-in-law Ethel Sexton and a brother-in-law Earl Deline. Bessie was a member Holy Trinity Anglican Church, the Rebekah Lodge, the Active Life Center and Christ Church Euchre Club. Friends will be received at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham (519-352-2390) for visitation on Friday, March 18, from 2-4 and 7-9pm and where funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, March 19, 2005 at 11:00am with The Rev. Deacon Elaine Wilcox of Holy Trinity Anglican Church officiating. Interment at Maple Leaf cemetery , Chatham. WHEELER: Albert Alfred, of Chatham, passed away on Thursday, February, 3, 2005. Born in Galt, Ontario, 86 years ago, son of the late Fred Wheeler and Mary (Robb). Surviving are his wife the former Areta (Leidy), two sons Allan and Shirley of St. Charles, Ernest and wife Nata of Chatham, one daughter Mary and husband Adrian Roy of Chatham, eight grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren, a sister Kathleen and husband John McCue of Rockford, Illinois, a brother-in-law Orlen and wife Nellie of Branchton, and a sister-in-law Marg Leidy of Kitchener. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Albert came to Chatham in 1964 and was a member of the Masonic Wellington Victory Masonic Lodge #46 and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 28. Friends will be received at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Avenue, Chatham, (519-352-2390) for visitation on Sunday, Feb 6, 2005 from 2-5pm. The Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, February 7, 2005 at 11:00am from Christ Anglican Church, 80 Wellington St. W., Chatham with The Rev. Paul Millward officiating. POULTER: Arthur Roy, of Chatham passed away peacefully on Monday, February 7, 2005 at Residence on the Thames in his 86th year. Husband of the late Evelyn Grace Poulter (2002) for more than 63 years. Father of Brian (Sandra) Poulter of Shawnee, Kansas and Kae (Alan) Bull of Mitchell's Bay. Roy will be missed by six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Roy owned businesses in Wheatley and Wallaceburg before becoming an auditor with the Ontario government. His father Arthur Poulter was Sheriff of Kent County in the 50's. The family will receive friends and relatives on Wednesday, February 9, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. at the Bowman Funeral Home, 4 Victoria Ave, (352-2390). A graveside service will be conducted Thursday, February 10, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. in MapleLeaf cemetery.

One brother William G. Abraham, two sisters Edna Rowland and Marion Kestle. Predeceased by two sisters Ruth Abraham and Helen Trotter. Esther was a graduate nurse of Public General Hospital, an active member of Christ Church, a member of the May Court, Meals on Wheels. Survived by four sons John Meyer (Marion) of Escondido, California, Gary Meyer (Roxie) of Strathmore, Alberta, Jake Meyer (Sandra), of Langley ,B.C., John Meyer (Carol), of Calgary . Four daughters Gertie VanderBeek (William)of Langley, B.C., Rina Roos (John), of Grande Prairie, Alberta, Joanne Ravensbergen (John), of Abbotsford, B.C., Henrietta Johnson (Roger), of Richmond, B.C. and two daughters in law Anne Meyer and Jean Meyer, of Calgary. Three stepsons John Vanderleeuw (Mary), of Mount Forest, Ont., Jake Vanderleeuw (Ann), of London, Ont., Jim Vanderleeuw (Wilma), of Waterloo, Ont. Three stepdaughters Tena Kielstra (Jake), of Chatham, Ont., Margaret Nywening (Wilbert), of Wyoming, Ont. , Florence Schaafsma (Stuart), of Blenheim, Ont. Johanna will be fondly remembered by 30 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. Predeceased by first husband John Meyer (1965), second husband Stan Vanderleeuw (1987), and sons Harry (1973), Al (2003) and grandson Kelvin Roos (1988). SMIDS: God spoke, "It is enough!" and took unto Himself, John Smids, on Wednesday, August 4, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer. John was born in Surhuizum, Holland, 69 years ago to the late Weibe Smids and Linda (Vander Naalt). After immigrating to Canada in 1948, John followed in his father's footsteps and became a carpenter. John was the dearly beloved husband of Gerty (Dryfhout) Smids since 1960. Their marriage was blessed by three children and eleven grandchildren. Dad and Opa will be lovingly remembered by Len and Margaret Wassenaar (Andrew, Daniel, Nadine and Eric), Andrew and Linda Westerveld (Eryn, Jonathan, David and Michael), and Wesley Smids (Joshua, Jessica and Gabriella). Also a beloved brother of Tina and Harry Schenk, Sally Vandersluis, Fred and Millie Smids and Jane Buma and Nick. Fondly remembered by many relatives and friends in Canada and Holland. John died fully believing in the saving grace of his Lord and Saviour. "A sinner saved by grace!" Fenner; John Bruce. passed away on Friday August 6, 2004 at Chatham Kent Health Alliance in his 86th year. He was born on the 7th of November in Coronation Alberta. During the second world war he served with the Kent Regiment and the Algonquin Regiment. After the war he returned to Chatham where he married Yvonne Anderson and had 4 children. In 1961 he re married to Rose Debassige and had 2 more children. He worked for over 20 years at Charron Transport. Bruce is survived by his wife Rose, sons Bruce, Dennis, David, daughter Colleen Smith all of Chatham. As well as stepsons Frank and Ivan Dutcher, and step daughters Violet Henderson of Mt. Bridges , and Karen Edwards of Tilbury. Brother to Marion of Niagara Falls and Doris of Fort Erie. Predeceased by his parents Jay and Alma (Leggate) Fenner, son Gregg and brother Lorne of Forest.
