BIBBY, William Albert (Al) - Passed away, at London Health Science Centre, on Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2002, at the age of 67. A Thespian from England, former Camel Jockey, Al was most remembered as a detective with the Minden OPP. Loving father of Jane Young and her husband Kelly of Fergus and Lynn Bibby Smith and her husband Bryan of Fergus. Loving "Al" to his grandchildren, Matthew and Joshua. JONES, Daniel - Peacefully, at Guelph General Hospital, Guelph, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2002. Daniel Jones, in his 85th year, was the beloved husband, for 56 years, of Eileen (nee Healy) Jones of RR 4, Rockwood. He was the loving father of Denis and his wife Pauline of Burlington, Moira Quirke and her husband Mike of Edmonton, Alta., Danny and his wife Pam of Rockwood, Sheila Kirkconnell and her husband Brian of Cambridge, Finola Jones of Elora, Kathleen McAusland and her husband Brian of Airdrie, Alta., Carmen Jarvis and her husband Pete of Magnetawan. Daniel was the dear grandfather of Kieran, Aislinn, Katherine, Christine, Bronwen, Theresa, Conor, Cailin, Ryan, Dylan, Elyse, Erin, Daniel, Katy, Jackie, Sarah, Devon, Haiden, Nathan and Danielle. He was the dear brother of Margaret Mary O'Connor of Ireland and of Sister Bernard Jones of England. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two brothers, the late Denis and Jackie Jones. Daniel and his wife, Eileen, immigrated to Canada from Ireland in 1947 and eventually settled in North Oakville. They had resided on their farm in Rockwood for the last seventeen years. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 117 Guelph St., Rockwood, where the family will receive friends Tuesday, October 8 (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Vigil for Daniel will be held at the funeral home this evening (Tuesday) at 8 p.m. The Funeral Mass will take place at St. Peter's Church, Oustic, on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002 at 11 a.m. Interment St. Peter's cemetery , Oustic. COLLINS, Joe - 50, died peacefully, at Victoria Hospital, London, Sunday, October 6, 2002, 11:40 p.m. Due to Pulmonary Fibrosis and infection, Joe was no longer able to breathe without life support. He is immensely loved and missed by all of those he has touched throughout his life. His wife, Patti Collins; children, Aaron and Jessica and the rest of his family join his many friends and colleagues along with students and numerous other members of the community in fond remembrance. His recent 50th birthday celebration was a reflection of the tremendous love he has earned for all his roles in life: father, husband, son, uncle, the "cool" vice principal, teacher, drummer, fisher, golfer, entertainer, artist, Hillside volunteer, confidant, mentor, friend. DEANS, Alva Elizabeth RN (nee Rowe) - With deep sadness, Alva's family announces her death, on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2002, at Groves Memorial Community Hospital. Alva died peacefully amongst her family. Also survived by four sisters, Helen (Mrs. Douglas Hogarth of Elora), Lucille (Mrs. Grant Sutherland of Fergus), Jean (Mrs. Gordon Campbell of Vancouver), Mary (Mrs. Bert Tuck of West Garafraxa); one brother, Lyle of Fergus and one brother-in-law, Jack Gilchrist of Guelph. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Deans; sister, Gladys Gilchrist; father, Harry Rowe; mother, Myrtle Rowe; sister-in-law, Willa Rowe; brother/sister-in-law, Harold and Jean Deans and sister/brother-in-law, Marion and Milton Roberts; brothers-in-law, Bert Tuck, Douglas Hogarth, Grant Sutherland and Clifton Darroch and nephew, John Hogarth. Raised in West Garafraxa, attended Living Springs and Fergus High Schools and graduated from K-W Hospital as a Registered Nurse. Nursed at Freeport Hospital (Kitchener) prior to marriage to Ken Deans with residence in Upper Nichol. Returned to the nursing profession at Groves Memorial Community Hospital until her retirement. Active member of the Eastern Star, St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, bridge clubs, quilting groups and many charitable organizations.
