NIGRO, Anne Marie - Peacefully, at Saugeen Valley Nursing Centre, Monday, September 2, 2002, Anne (Calcutta) Nigro, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Nigro. Cherished mother of Frank and his wife Doreen of Puslinch, Marilyn of Guelph, Mary of Acton, Donald and his late wife Pamela of Lions Head and Kenneth and Sheila of Guelph. Sadly missed by her sister, Antoinette and husband Emmet Hickey of Saskatchewan; brother, Jim Calcutta of Vancouver, B.C. and sister-in-law Dorothy Calcutta of Kitchener. Lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Survived also by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by two sisters, Mary Predenchuck, Rose Forte and brother, Joseph Calcutta. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, today (Thursday) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A vigil for Anne will be this evening (Thursday) at 8 p.m. Funeral mass on Friday, September 6, 2002, at St. Joseph's Church, Guelph, at 9:30 a.m. Interment at Marymount cemetery , Guelph. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, the Multiple Sclerosis Society or the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

SCOTT, Margaret Gertrude - Peacefully after a brief illness, at the Groves Memorial Community Hospital in Fergus, on Monday, September 2, 2002, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Arthur Scott (1994); dear mother of Doris and her husband Keith Hamilton of Guelph, Linda and her husband Alex Burnett of Belwood and Lloyd and his wife Lynda of Guelph; loved grandmother of Scott and Bill Hamilton, Stephen and his wife Kathleen Burnett, Darryl and his wife Anita Burnett and Lacey and Ryan Scott; loved great-gramma of Joshua, Joel and Logan. Predeceased by her brothers, Joe, John and Tom Hamilton and sisters, Sadie Davies and Ada May. Friends will be received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home and Chapel, 280 St. David St. S., Fergus, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Wednesday, September 4. Funeral service will be held at the funeral home, on Thursday, September 5, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Stephen Huntley officiating at the service. Followed by interment at the Belsyde cemetery in Fergus. Remembrances to the Groves Memorial Community Hospital would be appreciated by the family.

CANNON, Irene - Suddenly, at her home, in Guelph, on Monday, September 2, 2002, Irene (Homer) Cannon, in her 79th year was the beloved wife of the late John H. Cannon (1972). Loving mother of Barbara and her husband Robert Finoro and Pauline Hazelwood, all of Guelph and Maureen Murphy of London; dear grandmother of Brian and his wife Natasha, David and his wife Izzy, Gregory and his wife Julie, Christopher, Michael, Sean and Steven and proud great-grandmother of Jeremy, Lucas, Rachel and Jake. Dear sister of Derrick Homer and his wife Brenda of Parksville, B.C. and Joyce and Michael Jordan of Guelph. Survived also by many nieces and nephews. Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home and Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive friends, on Wednesday from 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, September 5, 2002 at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario or to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated by the family.

REID, Joseph David - Suddenly, at home, in Guelph, on Monday, July 1, 2002.Joseph David Reid, in his 74th year, beloved husband of Margaret Reid. Loved father of Bernard and his wife Louise of Brampton, Brian and his wife Denise of Toronto, Charles and his wife Deborah of Belleville, Donald and his wife Brenda of Toronto, David and his wife Tammy of Brampton and Linda Reid of Scarborough. Sadly missed by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of the late Lavine Gardiner and step-brother of Gordon and his wife Bonnie Reid. Loved father of Heather Gingerich of Ingersoll and Erik Baptie of Guelph; loving grandfather of Judah; beloved friend of Janet Hevenor of Ingersoll; beloved son of Harry Baptie of Peterborough and the late Evelyn (Drury). Dear brother of Doug and Alec Baptie of Peterborough. At Ray's request cremation has taken place. WATSON, Thomas (Tom) Harold - (Retired Superintendent from the Provincial Correctional System), of Guelph, passed away, at Guelph General Hospital, Sunday, September 15, 2002, in his 61st year. Beloved husband of Jacky Watson of Guelph; loved father of Robyn of Midland, Chris of St. Catharines and the late Andrew Watson. Loving grandfather of Karina and Jacob. Dear brother of Ron Watson of St. Catharines and Deborah Grant of Calgary. KOCH/MASURAT, Bertha (nee Trost) - Left peacefully into the prescence of the Lord, at Freeport Health Centre of Grand River Hospital, in Kitchener, on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, in her 88th year. Predeceased by her husbands, Frank Masurat (July 11, 1968) and Harry Koch (January 1976) and her infant children, Lenora Viola and Wesley Walter. She was also predeceased by her sister, Sophie Weidman and brothers, Christian Trost and Carl Trost and her nine half brothers and sisters. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Erna Jung from Guelph, Ontario and Elizabeth (Beth) Monroe from Dallas, Texas and granddaughters, Christine Jung (presently in Taipei, Taiwan) and friend Jason Jackman (Guelph, Ontario) and Nan (Monroe) Lawrence and her husband Jeff and the imminent birth of their twin boys, Michael Mabery (Mike) and Benjamin Luke (Luke) from Dallas, Texas. A special thanks to the nursing staff at Grand River Hospital, Freeport Health Centre, UT3, Palliative Care, in Kitchener, Ontario for their loving and generous care of our dear mother. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2002 (today) at 11 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens in Windsor/Oldcastle with Mr. Glen Cameron officiating. ARBUCKLE, Anna J. (nee Convay) - Peacefully, at Wellington Terrace, Elora, on Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Elwin S. Arbuckle (1977). Cherished mother of Elwin and his wife Lenora of Alma, Martha and her husband Neil Moffat of Ariss, the late Evelyn Hattle (1993) and the late Robert Arbuckle (1994). Dear mother-in-law of Gerald Hattle of Clifford. She will be sadly missed by her eight grandchildren, Janet Bryan (Randy), Linda Graham (John), David Hattle, Lloyd Arbuckle (Sherri), Beth Arbuckle, Dana Moffat, Jill Moffat and Andrew Moffat. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren, Lance (Jenny) and Duane (Kristin) Bryan, Vanessa, Nicole and Nadine Graham, Chad and Sarah Hattle, Aaron and Shae-Lynn Arbuckle and two great-great-grandchildren, Tyler Bryan and Madison Bryan. Predeceased by sisters, Martha McCrindle and Elizabeth Convay and by brothers, Elmer, Duncan, Bill and Lloyd Convay.
