Juliette Leblanc

We regret to announce the death of Juliette Leblanc on March 2, 2000 at the Extendicare Nursing Home, Kapuskasing at the age of 84 years.

Juliette Leblanc is survived by her son Daniel Leblanc husband of Gisèle of Kapuskasing,4 sisters: Sister Ida Thibert of Ottawa, Maguerite Pelletier of Sudbury, Thérèse Renaud of Sudbury, Marie-Luce Robert of Field, 3 brothers: Ernest Thibert of Aliston, Fernand Thibert of Peterborough, Gaetan Thibert,2 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren as well as many brothers and sisters.

Funeral service was held on March 4 at the Immaculée Conception Church.

Cremation followed at the J.H. Fleury Crematorium in Rouyn.

Donation to the Ontario Heart and Stroke would be greatly appreciated.

Denise Gendron

We regret to announce the death of Denise Gendron on February 28, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital, Kapuskasing at the age of 65 years.

Denise Gendron is pre-deceased by her husband Jean Noel Gendron, 1 son; Jean-Marc Gendron, 3 brothers; Joseph, Roch and Jacques Meilleur.

She is survived by 2 daughters: Sonia Gendron (Michel Belanger) of Kapuskasing, Suzie Girard wife of Marc of Moonbeam, 3 sons; Marc, Mario husband of Carole all of Moonbeam, Luc of Kapuskasing, 2 sisters; Jeannette Duguay(Eugene), Yollande Meilleur all of Moonbeam, 2 brothers; Jeannot Meilleur (Aurore) of Moonbeam, Guy Meilleur (Rita) of Cochrane as well as 10 grandchildren.

Funeral Service was held on March 2, 2000 at the Nativité de Marie Church in Moonbeam.

Burial will follow at the Moonbeam cemetery.

Laurie Scott

We regret to announce the death of Laurie Scott on February 26, 2000 at home at the age of 33 years.

Laurie Scott is survived by her parents Edward and Gerty Scott of Kapuskasing, 1 brother; Ted (Carla) of Iroquois Falls, 2 sisters; Sharron Johnston (Bob) of South Porcupine, Nancy Stenabough (Barry) of Lively, as well as 7 nephews and nieces.

Funeral service was held on February 29 at the St Mark's Anglican Church in Kapuskasing.

Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery.

Helena St Onge

We regret to announce the death of Helena St Onge on February 10, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 84 years.

Mrs. St Onge is pre-deceased by 1 son: Gérard, 3 brothers: Joseph, Clarence, and Eugene, 1 sister: Rita, 1 stepbrother: Edouard, 2 grandchildren: Christian, Luc, her first husband: Ernest and her second husband: Maurice.

Helena St Onge is survived by 7 sons: Jean-Guy Morin (friend - Louisette Valcourt) of Val D'Or, Albert Morin (Pierrette), of Val Rita, Gabriel and Claude Morin both of Thunder Bay, Raoul Morin (friend - Louiselle Dutrisac) of Welland, Ronald Morin (Asnnette) of North Bay, Raymond Morin (Louisette) of Fauquier, 4 daughters: Lina Larouche (Jean-Marie) of Val Rita, Ghislaine Deslauriers (Gérard), Aurore Desbiens (Donat) both of Kapuskasing, Rose Doucet (Roger) of White River, 1 sister: Gilberte Marquis of Kapuskasing, 5 stepsisters: Jeanne D'Arc McLaughlin of Val Rita, Rose-Anna Corriveau of Fauquier, Léontine Michaud of Montreal, Lucienne Audet of Timmins, Therese Audet of Kapuskasing,1 stepbrother: Lucien Michaud of Val Rita as well as 36 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held on Monday February 14 at the Sainte Rita Church in Val Rita.

Burial will follow at the Val Rita cemetery.

Donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Margaret Powers

We regret to announce the death of Margaret Powers on February 10, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 83 years.

Mrs Powers is survived by her husband Alvin Powers of Kapuskasing.

Funeral service was held on Saturday February 12 at the Kapuskasing United Church.

Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery.

Lise Marcotte

We regret to announce the death of Lise Marcotte on February 4, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital at the age of 66 years.

Mrs Marcotte is survived by her husband John Marcotte, 1 son: Pierre (Lesley) of Kapuskasing, 1 daughter: Nola Laberge (Gerald)of Azilda, her mother: Marguerite Rochette of Kapuskasing, 2 brothers: Denis Rochette (Jocelyne) of St Basile, Québec, Maurice Rochette (Irene) of Gloucester, 1 sister-in-law: Irene Fildes of Haileybury, 4 grandchildren: Marc, Julie Sarah, and Neil.

The funeral service was held on February 8 at the St Patrick's Church in Kapuskasing.

Cremation was at the J.H. Fleury Crematorium.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Lydia Filion

We regret to announce the death of Mrs. Lydia Filion on February 4, 2000 at the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital at the age of 99 years.

Mrs. Filion was pre-deceased by her husband Arthur Filion, 3 sons: Rosaire, Aurèl and Léon.

Lydia Filion is survived by 7 sons: René (Rachelle) of Fauquier, Aimé (Jeannette), Réal (Yolande), Rosaire (Muriel) all of Moonbeam, Paul-Arthur (Laurette) of Harty, Roland (Olive) of Kapuskasing, Lionel (Dorlyn) of Gatineau, 4 daughters: Cécile Lepage (Benoit) of Fauquier, Fernande Albert (Philippe) of Moonbeam, Thérèse Blouin (Raynald) of Smooth Rock Falls, Claudette Filion of Kapuskasing, as well as 43 grandchildren, 67 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services were held on February 7 at Nativité de Marie Church in Moonbeam.

Burial will follow at the Moonbeam cemetery.

Donations to the Smooth Rock Falls Hospital would be greatly appreciated.

Death Notice for the Late Paul Lafantaisie

We regret to announce the death of Polydore (Paul) Lafantaisie on January 31, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner hospital.

He was pre-deceased by his wife Marie-Jeanne.

Mr. Lafantaisie is survived by many nephews and nieces including Jeannette Rossi (Dennis), Wayne Major (Barbara).

Funeral service was held on February 2 at the Chapel of the Guenette Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at the Kapuskasing cemetery.

Florence Nadon

We regret to announce the death of Florence Nadon on January 30, 2000 at the Sensenbrenner Hospital, Kapuskasing at the age of 89 years.

She was a 50 year member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Mrs Kapuskasing for the Kapuskasing's 75th anniversary, a founder of the Golden Age Club, member of the hospital board auxiliary, member of the Rebecca Lodge, first lady elected to Kapuskasing town council, member of the EMO (Emergency Measures Organisation) during the war, member of the horticultural society, very prominent in the Liberal organisation, enjoyed politics and sports.

Mrs. Nadon is pre-deceased by her husband Eugene Francois Nadon.

Survived by 2 sons: Jos Nadon (Anne) of Kapuskasing, Eugene Francois Nadon (Sylvana) of London England, 3 daughters: Arlene Fraser (William) of Duncan B.C., Christine Yates (Leslie) of Telwa B.C., June Nadon of Kapuskasing, 2 sisters: Lucie Briscoe of Renfrew, Mardi Rogers of Ottawa, 1 brother: Plaunte Mayhew of Picton, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandson.

Funeral service was held on February 2, 2000 at the Kapuskasing United Church with Rev. Doug Richardson officiating.

Donations to the North Centennial Manor would be greatly appreciated.
