Born in Tilbury East Township, son of the late Benjamin and Mary (McDonald) Haskell. Beloved husband of Marva (Jenner) Haskell. Mrs. Fox was a life Charter Member of Rebekah Lodge (Fair Port Chapter of Dresden #322) and a member of the Dresden United Church. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Willis Fox (1995) and D. Max Simpson (1955). Dear mother of Evelyn McCallum and husband Bruce, Chatham; Beverly Simpson and wife Barbara, Blenheim; and L. James Simpson and wife Susan , Toronto; and a late infant daughter Donna M.Simpson. Born in Raleigh Township, daughter of the late Ted and Iola (Voakes) Russell. Gloria worked as Head Secretary at Blenheim District High School and then many years for Harwich Township. She spent the last thirteen years as Clerk/Treasurer for the Township of Brooke, Alvinston, retiring December 31, 2000. She was also a member of the Alvinston Rotary Club and the Aughrim Women's Institute. Loving friend and companion of Edsel Dick of R. R. # 1 Blenheim. Beloved husband of Dorothy Jean (Terry) McDonald and the late Edna Lucille (O'Neill) McDonald (1972). Dear father of Dan McDonald and his wife Linda of Duart and Cathy and her husband Ron Noorenberghe of Kent Bridge. Grandfather of Jenna and Tim Noorenberghe and Sarah, Amy, Duncan and Carrie McDonald and 15 step-grandchildren. Born on September 18, 1947 in Halifax, daughter of the late Bruce Allan and Doreen (McKenzie) Jones. Linda was the owner of the KFC Store in Kapuskasing. She was a member of the Kinsmen and the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 85. She enjoyed fishing, working outside, playing cards, bowling and traveling. Beloved wife of Donald Deer of Kapuskasing and the late Jean-Guy Beauchesne. Step-mother of Michelle (Kirk) Loveland of London, Marie-Jose (Chris) Atack of Timmins, Paul (Lyanne) Beauchesne of Kapuskasing and Jean (Diane) Beauchesne of Elmvale. Grandmother of nine grandchildren. Sister of Carol (John) Smyth of Chatham, David (Gloria) Jones of Sarnia and Allan (Heather) Jones of Florence. Pelletier: James (Jim) - A resident of Chatham died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus on Thursday, May 23, 2002 at the age of 75. Born in Chatham, son of the late Theogene and Mary (Sheff) Pelletier. Beloved husband of Alice (Matthew) Pelletier. Dear father of Cathie Campbell and her husband Scott of Oroville, California, Charlene Duckworth of Tilbury, Jamie Pelletier of Niagara Falls and Mary Margaret (M.M.) Pelletier of Chatham. Grandfather of 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Brother of Frances Pelletier of Blenheim, Vivian Sevigny of Chatham, Theresa Little of Windsor, Rosemary Authier of Placerville, California and the late Roselia and Eugene. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Jim served with the Canadian Armed Forces, at Military Bases across Canada and overseas in Korea, Viet Nam and Egypt, retiring in 1981 as Chief Warrant Officer. He joined the R.C.R. and was wounded in Korea where he became the first Canadian POW to be released after the war. He was a member of the Korean Veterans Association, the Royal Canadian Regiment Association, and the Royal Canadian Army Service Corps. Association. Born in Belleville, son of the late Stanley and Eleta (Andrews) Eggleton. Beloved husband of Amber (Cunningham) Eggleton. Brother of Gloria Joan Baxter and her husband George of Sault Ste. Marie, Clifford Eggleton and his wife Barbara of Simcoe and the late Irene Seguin and John Eggleton. Uncle of Heather Wood and her husband Ron, Sharon Rufenach and her husband Harold, Amber Claus and her husband Jon, Gail Baxter, David Baxter and his wife Monica and Stephen Baxter and his wife Ramona. Herbert owned and operated Chatham Office Supply Ltd from 1959-1970 and was an employee of Remington Rand for many years working in Florida, Windsor and Chatham. He was a past member of Sertoma Club of Florida and Chatham, past member of the Jaycees, an ardent golfer and a member of Indian Creek Golf and Country Club. At the request of the family there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation with interment in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Oldcastle. Donations to Alzheimer Society or Parkinson's Society appreciated.

Virginia Williams

WILLIAMS: Virginia - A resident of Chatham, died at Copper Terrace Nursing Home on Friday May 24, 2002. Born in Indianapolis, Indiana 91 years ago. Beloved wife of the late Harold E. Williams. (1992) Survived by her daughter Marcia Rawlings and her husband Michael of Lighthouse Cove. Grandmother of Howard Rawlings of Chatham, Martin Rawlings and his wife Terri of Chatham, and Alexis and her husband Jason Brouillette of Vancouver. Great Grandmother of Amanda, Erin, and Zoe. Cremation has taken place. An Interment Service will be held at Maple Leaf cemetery at a later date. Donations to a charity of one's choice appreciated.

Marguerite Phyllis Merritt

Merritt: Marguerite Phyllis - A resident of Chatham died at Thamesview Lodge, Chatham on Monday, May 27, 2002 at the age of 76. Born in Chatham, daughter of the late Francis and Margaret (Sennett) Blonde. Beloved wife of Glenn Nathaniel Merritt. Dear mother of Marvin Merritt and his wife Lenore of Pain Court, Judy Chambers and her husband Brian of Chatham, Nancy Mardling and her husband Phil of Chatham and Les Merritt and his wife Janice of Chatham. Grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 3 Great grandchildren and predeceased by great grandson Connor Merritt. Sister of Marie Irwin and her husband Bill of Merlin, Frances Jenkins and her husband Ken of Chatham Township, Connie Gonzalez and her husband Nick of Effingham, Illinois and the late Jim and Lyle Blonde and Leona Alexander. Sister-in-law of Shirley Spurgeon and her husband Gord of Chatham. She was a lifetime member of the C.W.L. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Thursday from 2:00-4:30 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Parish prayers at the Funeral Home on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Friday, May 31, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. with Rev. Fr. Greg Bonin the celebrant. Interment St. Thomas Anglican Church cemetery. Donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation or St. Joseph's Church Restoration Fund.

Gwendolyn Thuell

Thuell: Gwendolyn Ruth - A resident of Chatham and formerly of Gowanstown died at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus on Friday, May 31, 2002 at the age of 88. Born in Palmerston, daughter of the late Archibald and Jean (Harrison) Darroch. Beloved wife of the late Cloyne O. (Pont) Thuell (1982). Dear mother of Keith Thuell and his wife Phyllis of Manotick, Claire Thuell and his wife Peg of Innisfil, Kenneth Thuell and his wife Diane of Gravenhurst and Barb Krieger and her husband George of Belle River. Grandmother of David, Lisa, Brent, Patti, Leanne and Michael, Korri and Jeff. Sister of Margaret Mason of Port Elgin and the late Jack Darroch, Archibald Darroch and Jean Marsden. Mrs. Thuell lived in Gowanstown and Ripley for many years and was a retired telephone operator. She was a member of the Rebekkah Lodge in Ripley. In 1985 she moved to Belle River to be with her daughter. She had a great sense of humour and was devoted to her children and grandchildren. Mrs. Thuell was cremated and a Memorial Service will be held in Palmerston cemetery on Saturday, June 15, 2002 at 1:00 p.m. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Joyce Chalcraft

Chalcraft: Joyce - A resident of Chatham and formerly of Thamesville died at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance, Public General Campus on Saturday June 1, 2002 at the age of 38. Born in Thamesville, daughter of Donald and Marlene (Butler) Chalcraft of Chatham. Joyce was a former member of the Chatham Mapleaires Drum Corp. Beloved wife of the late William McCrank (2000). Dear mother of Justin Chalcraft and his spouse Amber Ellis. Grandmother of Daniel Chalcraft. Grandaughter of William Chalcraft of Chatham and the late Agnes Chalcraft, and Retta and Albert Butler. Sister of Margaret Whaley and her husband James of Chatham, Debbie Chalcraft of Hamilton, James Chalcraft and Tasha Verkaik of Chatham and Ken Chalcraft of Hamilton. Also survived by 14 nieces, 7 nephews, 12 great nieces and 6 great nephews. Family will receive friends at the McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham on Monday 7:00-9:00 p.m. and Tuesday 2:00-4:30 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Wednesday June 5, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul McPhail of Chatham Christian Centre officiating. Interment Maple Leaf cemetery , Chatham. Donations to Canadian Cancer Society or Heart and Stroke Foundation appreciated.

Kyle Gerald Russell Langille

LANGILLE: Kyle Gerald Russell Beloved son of Dennis and Darlene (Wog) Langille of Chatham, died suddenly on Friday July 5, 2002 at Children's Hospital of Western Ontario, London. Kyle was born in Chatham on November 17, 2000. Much loved brother of Patricia, Christopher, and Kellie Langille, all at home. Dear grandson of Ria Jane and Lester Clarke of Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. Special nephew of Deb and Murray Brooks of Chatham, Cathy and George Sanderson of Chatham, Denise and Randy Nunn of Alberta, Dennis and Sandy Wog of Alberta, and David Wog of British Columbia. ALso survived by several cousins.
