Joseph (Joe) Cajetan McAlear (Retired London Life Underwriter and World War II Veteran) of 1424 Lochiel Street; formerly of Dunkirk Street; age 86 years. Beloved husband of the former Louise Vincent. Dear father of Sister Mary McAlear, s.s.c.j. of Ottawa, Hugh McAlear (Lise) of Cornwall, Michael McAlear (Dorothy) of Ottawa, Patricia (Mrs. Peter Willams) of St-Eugene, Vincent McAlear (Agathe) of Cornwall, Shelley (Mrs. Brent McLaren) of Perth, Helen and Rosemary McAlear both of Cornwall. Predeceased by two infant daughters, Marie and Maria. Dear son of the late Hugh McAlear and the late Catherine Jarvo. Dear brother of Dalton McAlear (Katherine) of St. Andrews West. Predeceased by four brothers, Hilary, Murray, James and Hubert McAlear and by two sisters, Mrs. Ida Gerrie and Miss Rhoda McAlear. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, 2 great-granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

Resting at the Lahaie & Sullivan Cornwall Funeral Homes, West Branch, 20 Seventh Street West (932-8482) from 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Funeral Thursday, November 29, 2001 for Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Bosco Church at 11 a.m.

Interment , Notre Dame cemetery.

Loving grandfather of Melanie, Angie, Eric, Stephanie and Danik.and great-grandfather of 2 great-grandchildren. Dear son of the late Gerard Cousineau and the late Eveline Briere.

Dear daughter of the late John Kemble and the late Ella May McKibbon. Dear sister of Edward Kemble of Carcross, Yukon and Mrs. Jennette Rodovich of Toronto. Predeceased by one sister, Mrs. Verna Smith.

Predeceased by two brothers, Euclide and Zephyr (Pat) Brunet and by six sisters, Gloria and Lydia Brunet, Mrs. Delia Guertin, Mrs. Clara Decoeur, Mrs. Blanche Spencer and Mrs. Laura Parisien. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Devoted grandmother of Jo-Ann (Hebert)Mullin (wife of Todd) of Massena, New York and Matthew Prettyman (husband of Amanda) of Arizona. Loving great-grandmother of Dalton and Dylan Mullin of Massena, Pacey and Tyler Prettyman of Arizona. Dear daughter of the late Duncan Gardner and the late Lillian Woodworth. Dear sister of Claude Gardner (Inez) and Fred Parnell (Leona) both of Edmonton, Alberta and Connie Colberg of Pembroke Pines, Florida. Predeceased by two sisters, Miss Irene Gardner and Mrs. Geraldine Jay and by two brothers, Wilbur and Al Gardner. Cremation.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 30, 2001 in First Baptist Church at 11 a.m.

Dear father of Gordon Lalonde and David Lalonde (Betty) both of Sudbury, Vincent Lalonde (Judy) of Wasaga Beach, Roland Lalonde of Edmonton, Alberta, Cheryl (Mrs. Richard Andre) of Martintown, Phyllis (Mrs. Jerry Antoine) and Ronald Lalonde (Alice) both of Cornwall and Susan Lalonde of Windsor. Predeceased by two daughters Shirley Lalonde and Mrs. Barbara Marsolais. Dear step-father of Bernard Beauvais (Mignonne), Ernest Beauvais (Frances) and Claire (Mrs. John Bazil) all of Long Sault. Dear son of the late William Lalonde and the late Mary Emily Primeau. Predeceased by three brothers George, Louis and Joseph Hugh Lalonde and two sisters Mrs. Ida Rhodes and Mrs. Hazel Sauve. Also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren,7 step-grandchildren and 12 great-step-grandchildren.
