Survived by dear sisters Helen Gilliland, Grace Marsh and Kathleen Morgan, all of New Zealand. Loretta was an avid reader, writer, gardener, globetrotter and teacher. Nicole, beloved daughter of Debra Nagge (David) of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Dean W. Curtis and Lynda Curtis of Peterborough. Best friend and loving sister of Kyle Curtis. Sadly missed by her grandparents Francis and Nancy Rooney and Olive and the late Walter Curtis all of Peterborough. Nicole will be sadly missed by her many aunts and uncle's, cousins and friends. Irene (nee Killoran) Jones
JONES, Irene (nee Killoran) - passed away on Monday, October 16, 2006 in Scarborough. Beloved wife of the later Edward “Ted“ Jones. Daughter of the late Margaret and John Killoran. Loving mother of Margaret. Loved grandmother of Davin and Kaitlin. Loving sister of Inez Low. Irene was predeceased by her brother Jack Killoran; sisters Claire McCraw, Corinne Turcotte, Josephine O'Donoghue, and Kathleen Coderre; half-sisters Lorainne Crawford and Caroline Albright, and half- brothers Leonard and Harry Killoran and many nieces and nephews. Irene had a burning desire to tell family members about their grandmother Margaret Killoran's dedication to the family and so she embarked on a writing journey that would start at Ryerson and end with the production of her book entitled Out Of the Ashes. Excerpts from this book are contained in a book called The Great Fire Of 1922 that is in The Haileybury Museum. During Irene's busy life in Peterborough with her husband Ted and daughter Margaret she spent numerous hours doing community service. Irene will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Survived by brothers Bruce Cosby of St. Catharines, Walter Cosby of British Columbia and Elgin Cosby of Wellandport, sisters Muriel Empey of Mississauga, Shirley (Lester) Culp of Ridgeway, Isabel Millward of St. Catharines, Bonnie (James) Roynon of Ridgeway, Sisters in Law Lousia Cicuto of Toronto and Maxine (John) Pastirik of Welland. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Don a veteran of WWII he was a member of the Royal Canadian Naval Volunteer Reserve and was ranked as a Signal Man. D'ONOFRIO, Carmella (nee Caperchione) – At the Welland Hospital on Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at the age of 80. She is reunited with her husband Carman who passed in 1991. She leaves many wonderful memories for her children Nick, Gary (Darlene), Linda Chiasson (Donald) Carmen, Doug, Ralph (Mary-Anne), and Karen Gosselin (Norm). Remembered with love by her grandchildren Courtney D'Onofrio, Betty-Joe and Ralph D'Onofrio, Sherry and Sean Chiasson, Ronald, Bobbi- Joe and Norman Gosselin, Claudia Weller- D'Onofrio, great-grandchildren Nathan, Alex, Taitianna, Marie, Sara, and her great-great- grandchildren Angel and Carmella. Dear sister of Susan Deveau, Edith Banjavich, Dora Yallin (Aldo), and Peter Caperchione (Joan). Also survived by her many nieces and nephews. Katherine was born in Tisdale Sask. resided in Welland and Toronto. She was a nurse at Sunset Haven and the Annex in Welland. She is survived by her children Guy LaBelle (the late Lizanne), Garth LaBelle (Laurie), Gary LaBelle (Ann), Denise Kahn (LaBelle). Dear sister of Phyllis Sabourin (the late Donald), Donelda McGratten (Maurice), Sarah LeePart (Doug). Predeceased daughter of Charles and Catharine Gervais, sisters Elizabeth, Myrtle Lillian, Nora, Theresa, brothers Martin, Eley, Laurence. She will be sadly missed by grandchildren Melanie, Heather, Micheal, David, Mandy, Grant and Stephanie LaBelle.
