Loving great-grandmother to Briar. Predeceased by her daughter-in-law Barb (2006). Pauline was a hairdresser for many years and a volunteer with the Canadian Cancer Society for 10 years.

It is with deep sadness, that we announce the passing of Irene, in her 81st year. After a courageous battle with cancer, Irene passed away surrounded by her family on June 11. Beloved wife of 58 years to Charles-Guy. Devoted mother to Robert (Linda), Vivianne (Allan) and loving grandma to Christian, Philippe (deceased) and Marc. Irene had a great loving spirit in playing golf, bridge and travelling. But most of all she will be remembered for her great love of family.

John William "Jack" Anthony
passed away at home with his loving family by his side on June 11, 2010 at the age of 90. Beloved husband of Eleanor for 63 years. Cherished father of Jim, Jill and Jack. Father-in-law of David and Inger. Beloved grandfather of Christy, John and Christopher. Sadly missed by his brother George and predeceased by his brothers Bruce and Lloyd. Jack was an outstanding athlete in football, basketball, softball and lacrosse, finishing his football career with the Hamilton Wildcats. He captained the Thompson Products basketball team and won a national championship. In business, Jack spent 40 years at Thompson Products (now TRW), rising to manager of the aftermarket division. Friends will be received by the family 1 hour prior to service (12 noon to 1 pm), with the funeral service being conducted at 1 pm. on Monday, June 14th, at the JAMES L. Went to be with the Lord on June 4, 2010 at the Niagara General Hospital in her 71st. year. Loving wife of John and dear mother of Julie and Andrew. Cherished nana of Janelle. Dear sister of Sue and her family in Australia. Diane attended Living Waters Fellowship in Niagara Falls and Destin Assembly in Florida and will be greatly missed by both communities. Diane was very active in healing, preaching and teaching and saw many wonderful miracles in her life time. Her family are extremely proud of all her accomplishments. She lived many adventures and with her loving outgoing personality touched the lives of many in England, Malaysia, Greece, Guatemala, South Africa and Bosnia. David passed away in Rapelje Lodge in Welland on May 25th. He died peacefully surrounded by family. He will be missed by Carolyn, his wife of 63 years, his sons, Robert (Jean) in Oakville, Doug in Sarnia, and daughter Barbara (Don) in Fonthill. He leaves grandchildren, Jessica, Marisa, Caleb, Douglas and Carolyn and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by daughter Kathryn and grandson David. David was born in Lloydminster on January 3, 1923. His early schooling was in Lloydminster and St. John's College in Winnipeg. He graduated from the University of Manitoba in 1946. He spent most of his career with Imperial Oil. He enjoyed hobbies such as hockey, golf and traveling with Carolyn. He loved building and playing organs and for many years was an organist in the Anglican church. He was actively involved in his church affairs. A memorial service will be held on June 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Anglican Church in Sarnia. passed away at the Welland Hospital on Wednesday, June 2, 2010 in his 85th. year. Beloved husband of Joan ( Sisler) Wells. Dear father of Jim and Scott Wells (Beverly) and step father of Gordon Sisler (Janice Giesbrecht), Cathy Sisler, Laura Schmitt (John) and David Sisler (Kathryn). Cherished grandfather of Paul and Collin Wells, Julia and Laurel Sisler, Michael Schmitt, Kealan and Jared Sisler.Survived by his sister Florence. Predeceased by his brother Robert Wells and sister Ada Wells. Missed also by his daughter-in-law Lezlie Harper ' Wells. Jim was a Veteran of WW2 and served on the HMCS Capilano, also a member of the Sawmill Golf Club and the St. Catharines Golf and Curling Club. At Jim's request cremation has taken place. Bob was a member of the Fonthill Lions Club, Welland Curling Club, Sparrow Lakes Golf Club and the Welland Senior Hockey Club. passed away at Extendicare, Welland Hospital, on Monday May 24th 2010 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late John Robert Joynt (2008). Loving mother of Brian and his wife Judy of Guelph and predeceased by her daughter Nancy Schmidt. Dear mother-in-law of Lonny Schmidt of Welland. Also loved by her grandchildren David Joynt and his wife Gillian, Paul Joynt, Ryan Schmidt and her great-grandson Logan. Shirley Lou Levay (Salter)
Born December 9, 1935, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 23, 2010 at Lookout Ridge. Survived by children John (Dot) Levay, Jane (Bob) Mackenzie, grandchildren Sarah and Michael Mackenzie, and brother Charles (Annabelle) Salter. Predeceased by husband John Rudolph Levay, and her parents Lambert Salter and Vera (Donald) MacIntyre.
Born in Welland, Shirley lived most of her life in Fonthill where she was a Realtor for many years. In her younger years, she coached, played and refereed fastball, basketball and volleyball at the high school and collegiate levels. She is also recognized on the Welland Sports Wall of Fame.
An avid and highly skilled poker player and a class act all the way, she was dedicated to learning all she could about the world around her, had a great sense of humour, loved her dogs, travelling and cherished her many friends.
In lieu of visitation, a celebration of Shirley's life will be held on Wednesday May 26th at the Mackenzie residence,12 Beechwood Crescent, Fonthill beginning at 4 pm. If desired, donations to the Welland Humane Society in Shirley's honour would be appreciated.
