Adam Michael Sunday

SUNDAY, Adam Michael - Suddenly passed away in Amherst, N.Y. on October 20, 2006 in his 62nd year. Beloved partner of Ellie Hurst. Loving father of Susan Sunday (Ryan Lawrence) and Brent Sunday (Melanie). Dear grampa of Conner. He will be missed by his brothers Anthony Sunday (Mary) and Paul Sunday (Christine). Predeceased by his wife Lily – 1983, his parents Mary & Peter Sunday, and his brother Peter. Adam was born in Welland and lived all of his life in Port Colborne. He was employed by INCO for over 30 years. Adam was an avid golfer at Whiskey Run, and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion – Branch 56. He was also known as a “jack of all trades“. Adam's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2006 in the Armstrong Chapel at 11:00 a.m. with Father David Spengler officiating. Cremation to follow. If so desired memorial donations may be made to the Cancer Society or Heart & Stroke Foundation.

Henry Pyrz

PYRZ, HENRY - passed away peacefully, after a brief illness at the Port Colborne Hospital on October 21, 2006 in his 84th year. Loving father to Rick Pyrz of Port Colborne. He will be sadly missed by his brother Polikarp Van Pyrz. He is predeceased by his wife Sophie, parents Wincenty and Honorata Pyrz and sister Pelagia. Henry came to Port Colborne on November 21, 1949 and has lived here ever since he came to Canada. He worked at INCO until his retirement. Henry's family will receive friends at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Vigil prayers will be held at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at St. Patrick's R.C. Church at 10:30 a.m. with Father Brian Bevan officiating. Rite of Committal will follow at Mount St. Joseph cemetery , Port Colborne. If so desired memorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.

NIGRO, Domenic – At the Welland Hospital on Saturday, October 21, 2006 in his 92nd year. Cherished husband of Zelinda (nee Mattei) for over 53 years. Dearly loved father of Anthony (Mirella), Rino, and Frances Moskalyk (Mark). Sadly missed by his grandchildren Linda (Archie), Domenic (Nicole), Matthew, Nicole and Rachael, and his great-grandson Marcus. Dear brother of Pasquale and brother-in-law of Peter Mattei (Elena), late Tony Mattei (Antonina), Guerino Mattei (Mary), Chris Mattei (late Antonina), Joe Mattei (Irene), and Flora Vecchiarelli (Giulio). Also survived by his nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to call at J.J. Patterson & Sons Funeral Residence 19 Young Street, Welland on Monday from 7-9 and Tuesday from 4-9 where a Vigil will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Parish Community of St. Kevin on Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock. Rite of Committal at Pleasantview Mausoleum. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Kevin's Parish Memorial Fund or The Canadian Cancer Society. on line memories and condolences at www.jjpatterson.ca As a memorial tribute, a tree will be planted in Memory Woods. Thérèse (née Champagne) Lachance-Lebrasseur

LaCHANCE-LeBRASSEUR, Thérèse (née Champagne) - On October 22, 2006 we said farewell to a wonderful mother, wife and grandmother who lost her battle with cancer in her 63rd year. She was blessed to have found happiness twice in her life. She will now be laid to rest with her beloved late husband André Lachance and will be leaving behind her 2nd husband Hervin LeBrasseur. Loving mother to Lise & husband Terry Carter, Debra Silenzi & friend Norman Boutin and Julie Lachance & friend Fortunato Scolaro. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren Paul & Ryan Carter and Courtney Silenzi. Stepmother to Joanna Thompson & husband Mel, Hervin Jr. LeBrasseur & wife Wendy Mike LeBrasseur & friend Antoinette, Linda Panoutsopolous, Steven LeBrasseur. Sister to Real & wife Rolande Champagne of Shawinigan, PQ. Daughter-in-law of Armand and Yvette Lachance. Thérèse was a proud and strong woman that devoted her life to ensuring her families happiness. Her daughters will always remember the joy and love she brought into their lives. The family will receive relatives and friends at the WELLAND FUNERAL HOME 827 main street E. Welland on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. The funeral service will be at Église Sacré Coeur Thursday at 1pm. A vigil for Mrs. LeBrasseur will be held on Wednesday evening at 8pm. Interment of cremains will follow in Holy Cross cemetery. If desired donations to the Canadian Cancer Society will be appreciated by the family.

Beloved husband of the late May (Robbins) Hodgkins. Dear father of Marion Clyde Little, Rosemarie (Roger Ronek). Dear grandfather of 7 grandchildren and 5 great grand children. Dear brother of Harold Hodgkins. Predeceased by 2 sons Oscar and Frank and sister Louise Gibson. Blake operated Hodgkins and Son's Saw Mill and School Bus at Wellandport. All the lumber that is in Lampman Funeral Home was cut at Blakes Saw Mill in Wellandport. Resting at the LAMPMAN FUNERAL HOME, 724 Canboro Rd. Fenwick for Funeral Mass at St. Kevin's Church Niagara St. Welland Wednesday, October 25, 2006 at 1 pm. Interment in Holy Cross cemetery Welland. Visiting at Lampman Funeral Home Monday 7-9 Tuesday 2-4 7-9.

George Stanley Rodgers

RODGERS, George Stanley - At Peterborough Regional Health Centre (Rogers St. Site) on Sunday October 22, 2006, George Rodgers of R.R. #4, Havelock in his 58th year. Beloved son of Elfa Rodgers & the late Stanley. Brother of Edith Norn of Hay River, N.W.T.; Donna Rogers of Havelock, Garry of Norwood, Wayne of Nephton & the late Ralph. Also survived by his nieces & nephews. Resting at the Brett “Havelock“ Chapel 2-4 &7-9 pm Tuesday. Service in the Norwood Pentecostal Church on Wednesday at 11:00 am Reverend Ron Hughes officiating. Sister of Dorothy, Pat, Inez, Ed, Ken, Dale, Dennis and the late Hazel, Alena and David. William Edgar Bowman

BOWMAN, William Edgar - Peacefully at the Golden Plough Lodge in Cobourg on Friday, October 20th, 2006, Edgar Bowman at 93 years of age. Beloved son of the late Archie and Grace Bowman. Brother of Stuart (the late Jean), and brother-in law of Audrey Bowman. Predeceased by his siblings Frank (Iva), Jackson (Lillian), Frederick, and Jean (Ewart) King. Beloved uncle, great uncle and great great uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at MACCOUBREY FUNERAL HOME, 30 King St. E. in Cobourg on Tuesday, October 24th, 2006 at 1 pm. Interment at St. Paul's cemetery in Cold Springs. Jessie Florence (Landon) Smith

SMITH, Jessie Florence (Landon) - 84 Jessie Florence (Landon) Smith of Kingston, Ontario, died Saturday, October 21, 2006 at Kingston General Hospital. Jessie was born November 11, 1921 in London, England. She served in the British Army in World War II and later became a seamstress. She came to Kingston in 1946. Jessie leaves behind her former husband, Norman Landon, who died May 12, 1988, and her second husband, Oliver Smith, who died September 22, 1993. She leaves behind her beloved sons, Terry Landon of Kingston; Bruce Landon and his wife, Marcia, of West Springfield, Massachusetts; her beloved grandchildren, Michael, Steven, Jess, Leigh, Tracey and Tammy, and five great- grandchildren. A celebration of Jessie's life will be held in the JAMES REID RECEPTION CENTRE (please enter from the rear parking lot) on Saturday, November 11, 2006 from 2 to 4 pm, a time of sharing will take place at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Helen Henderson Care Centre Resident's Charitable Foundation would be appreciated by the family. (Donations by cheque only please)

Dear mother of Carl Mills (Violet Sweet), Harrowsmith; Karen Sweet, Kingston and Katherine Mills, Napanee. Sadly missed by her grandchildren: Brooke & Julie Sweet; Steven Mills, Alicia Tuepah and John & Laura Mills. Dear sister of: Lloyd Hartwick, Smith Falls; Gary Hartwick, Toronto; Marie Thompson, Smith Falls; Kathleen Thompson, Parham; Bruce Hartwick, Sharbot Lake and Violet Reid, Smith Falls. Fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the WARTMAN FUNERAL HOME, 448 Camden Rd. Dear Father of Ron of Kingston. Predeceased by daughter-in-law, Nina. Dear Brother of Freda Ferguson of Hartington, Bernice Ross of Cape Vincent, N.Y, Fred and his wife Fran of Philipsville. Predeceased by sisters, Verda Wadell and Olga King, and brothers, Edgar, Gordineer, Lewis, Lawrence, Glenn, Herbert, Calvin, Bernard and Bruce Warner. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the SCOTLAND FUNERAL HOME, 27 Main Street, Elgin on Wednesday from 11 o'clock until time of Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1 o'clock. Also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Pre-deceased by brothers Nelson and Gordon Webster.
