Ronald Archibald McIntyre
1943 - 2007
McINTYRE, RONALD: Suddenly at his home in Grassie on Sunday, December 16, 2007, Ronald Archibald McIntyre in his 65th year. Beloved husband and best friend of Marjorie (nee Sillett). Predeceased by his parents Leslie and Muriel McIntyre (nee Farrow). Loving father of Nadine and Brian Murphy, Ian Convery, and Brenda Pasetto. Cherished by his grandchildren Ryan and Clarissa (Murphy), Natasha and Marco (Pasetto). Dear brother of Shirley and Tom Ribey. Ron will also be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, family and friends, close neighbors and also his many friends at Chippawa Campground. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held Friday, December 21 at 11 am at the funeral home. Cremation will follow. If desired, memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.

Debra Lynn McKellar
1962 - 2007
MCKELLAR, Debra Lynn (nee Waterhouse) April 1, 1962 – December 9, 2007 It is with profound sadness that we announce Deb’s passing, with her family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer. Deb leaves behind her loving husband and soul mate, Robbie, and their two cherished daughters, Rachael (19) and Charlene (14). Precious daughter of Lorraine and the late Charles Waterhouse (2007). Loving sister of Karen Saint and sister-in-law of Richard and Sylvia McKellar and Donnie and Wendy McKellar. Beloved aunt to Trish and Richard McKellar and his wife Erica, and great aunt to Layne, Hayden and Dylan. Dear niece to Val and the late Bob Jansen, Ross and Barney Waterhouse, Adele and Art Matthews, Murray and Mary McKellar and the late Joyce and Vincent Glynn. Deb will also be deeply missed by many friends and relatives whose lives she touched. Her family was her focus and the purpose of her life. We were all blessed by her caring and enriched by her love. Friends will be received at the Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Road 20) in Smithville, on Saturday, December 15, 2007 from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.

McKINNEY, JOSHUA: At his home in St. Catharines on Thursday, June 21, 2007, Joshua James Frayne McKinney in his 32nd year. Beloved son of Dale Rusk. Loving father of Aidan and friend of Shauna McKinney. Dear grandson of Phyllis and Charles Rusk, brother of Drew McKinney and uncle of Mikayla McKinney. Sadly missed by his aunts and his close friend Shawn Mask. A private family service has been held. MERRITT, DONNA: Suddenly, at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby on Friday, August 24, 2007, Donna Laureen Merritt, (nee Phillips) R.N. of Smithville in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late Gove Clarence Merritt (2000). Loving mother of Phillips, Glenna, Susan and Tom and his wife Laurie. Dear sister-in-law of Edna Phillips and of Elizabeth and Ralph Suttell. Loving grandmother of Christa and Gary McBlain and their son Benjamin, and Cameron Wilkinson and Laura Rice. She will also be missed by her aunt Willow Sharp, nieces and nephews April Phillips, Kate and Geordie Waddell, Diane Phillips, Lloyd Phillips, Lee and Carol Suttell, Lynn and Greg Main and their families. Predeceased by her brother Reg Phillips, brother Keith Phillips and his wife Thelma, and nephews Richard and Timothy (TJ). Friends may call at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 27 at 11 am at the Smithville United Church. Private family interment prior to the service at the church’s adjoining cemetery. Myrtle Isobel Mewhiney

MEWHINEY, ISOBEL: At West Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Grimsby on Monday, June 4, 2007, Myrtle Isobel Mewhiney in her 70th year. Beloved wife of the late Lyle Robert Mewhiney (1990). Loving mother of Robert and Lyn, and Wayne and Marie. Cherished by her grandchildren Michelle, Michael, Sarah-Rose and Lindsay. Dear sister of Harold Hilberg and his wife Elizabeth, and Donald Hilberg and his wife Agnes. Predeceased by her sister Marilyn Vickers (1999) and her husband Ronald (1998), and brother-in-law Larry Booker (2005). Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday, June 5 from 7-9 pm, and on Wednesday, June 6 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at Grassie Gospel Church, 204 Mud Street West, Grassie (Winona) on Thursday, June 7 at 1 pm. Interment Queens Lawn cemetery , Grimsby. If desired, memorial contributions to Grassie Gospel Church Missionary Fund or West Lincoln Memorial Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.

Cherished grandmother of Ann and Steve, Susan and Alex, Jeffrey, David and great-grandmother of Ben. The funeral service will be held on Monday, March 12 at 12 Noon at St. Andrews-St James cemetery in Orillia. Loving mother of Maureen Kotecki (John), Ron Beauchamp, Rob Beauchamp, Dave Beauchamp (Jodie) and Doug Beauchamp (Christine). Predeceased by her son Chrissy. Cherished by 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of James Dalton (Marg). Colleen will also be sadly missed by her Aunt Hilda and very special friend Jeanie Schofield. Beloved husband of Hiltje Schilstra (nee Sjaarda) for 51 years. Loving father of Harold and Barb of St. Anns, Wilfred and Ingrid of Smithville, Christine and Jack Rintjema of Smithville, Jeffrey and Grace of Smithville, Wendy and Rey Van der Vliet of Osgoode, Wayne and Christine of St. Anns, and Michael and Carolyn of St. Catharines. Cherished by his 28 grandchildren. Dear brother of Jack and Tina of Dunnville, Trudy and Ed Struyk of Listowel, brother-in-law of Jetse Tiersma and his wife Jeltsje of Dunnville, and brother-in-law of Con Struyk of Troy. He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Tryntje Bruinsma and her husband Harmen, and Grietje Tiersma, and Janice Struyk. Friends and family may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Smithville Christian Reformed Church (6522 Smithville Road) on Wednesday, May 16 at 2:30pm. A private family interment will be held prior to the service at Lane cemetery , St. Anns. SHIELDS, NANCY: Suddenly at home on Tuesday, October 9, 2007, Nancy June Shields (nee Hahn) in her 75th year. Beloved wife of over 54 years of William (Bill) Shields. Loving mother of Dan Shields, John and Cathy Shields, Kelly and Mark Staples, Cathy and Joe Mous, and Tom and Loretta Shields. Cherished by her grandchildren Luke and his wife Shari (and great-grandmother of Logan), Jennifer, Meaghan, Merritt, Gillian, Patrick, Allison, Aaron, Chris, Matthew, Zachary, Elizabeth, Olivia, Lisa, Maryanne, Emily, Nicholas, Natalie and Katrina. Dear sister of Jim and Betty Hahn, and Ron and Shirley Hahn. Nancy was the mail delivery person for RR#2 Smithville for many years, Past President of St. Martin's Catholic Women's League, and in earlier years she was very active with the Hamilton Dog Obedience Club. Friends may call at the Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, October 12 at 11 am at St. Martin of Tours' Catholic Church in Smithville with interment at the church's adjoining cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions to West Lincoln Memorial Auxiliary would be appreciated by the family and can be made through the funeral home.
