Peacefully on Friday July 4, 2003 at the Brockville General Hospital at the age of 79 years. Al was born in Toronto, but fell in love with Brockville and the St. Lawrence River after moving here in 1972. Loving husband of the late Martina Green. Dear father of Jann Smith and her husband Dan, Julie Green of Brockville, and Bob McCord and his wife Kimberly of Mississauga. Sadly missed by six grandchildren Charles, Lauren and Kylie Smith, Alex and Erik van der Meulen and Shannon McCord. They will treasure their memories of Grandpa. Also surviving are his brothers Gordon Green of Oakville, and Jim of Wasaga Beach. Predeceased by his parents William and Ethel Green of Toronto.
At the request of Mr. Green, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A reception in celebration of his life will be held at the Brockville Country Club Sunday July 13 from 2-4 pm. In memoriums to the Canadian Aid for Chernobyl will be gratefully acknowledged. Arrangements are entrusted with the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East Brockville.
Cremation will take place at Roselawn Crematorium and Tribute Centre, Maitland.

After a difficult illness at the St. Lawrence Lodge on Thursday, July 10, 2003; George Edward Shaver at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Eileen (Arcand) Shaver. Loving father of Margaret Close and her husband Jim and dear grandfather of James Close and his wife Celestine all of Brockville. Fondly remembered by his great grandchildren J.D. and Vanessa. Also survived by his brother Delbert Shaver and his wife Marion, and his sister Bonnie Burke and her husband Roger all of Brockville, as well as by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Edna Hellyer.

Dear grandfather of Ryan Merkley, Rachel Leroux, Tessa, Bryan, Rick and Alec Grant and Adam and Deryck Grekul. Also survived by a great granddaughter Emma and by his brother James Grant of Greenbush. Predeceased by his brother Norman Grant.

Charles Arthur Maase

At his Brockville residence on Wednesday, May 7, 2003 at the age of 81 years. Beloved husband of Janet E. (Jenny) Maase (nee Wallace). Loving father of Jill Maase of Ottawa, and John Maase and his wife Wilda Madden of Brockville, and of the late Peter Maase of New York City. Fondly remembered by his granddaughter Lily Maase. Also survived by his brother Peter Maase of Ste. Anne des Lacs, QC. Predeceased by his brother Eric.
A great lover of life and living well, Charles was a gracious host, a capable skipper of his eighteen boats, and cultivator of the “secret garden” overlooking the St. Lawrence River. A friend and mentor to many, Charles had the gift of being a superior listener as well as speaker, being famous for his Swedish toasts marking special occasions. To his business associates, Charles provided thoughtful and measured counsel both in his own enterprises and as a long-standing and valued member of the board of Toromont Industries. He will be greatly missed by friends up and down the waterways of North America.
The family would like to express heartfelt thanks for the special contribution by Wilda Madden, Dr. Frederick Albert and Shirley Farrell. Their dedication and personal care made it possible for Charles to spend his final days at home in the company of family.

Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital, Ottawa on Saturday, April 19, 2003 in her 90th year. Wife of 44 years to the late Harold Cornelius O'Grady. Loving mother of Jim (Helen Alexiade), Colleen (Laurence Dumville) all of Ottawa, Ken (Marlene Binnie) of Brockville and Faye (Donald Kuiack) of Ottawa. Fondly remembered by 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister Margaret Redmond of Ottawa and her daughter-in-law Anne Notof of Sherwood Park, Alberta. Predeceased by her son Dr. Terry O'Grady, her sister Kay Dougherty and brothers Alphonsus, Byrne, John and Dan. Mary was born in Eganville in 1913 and lived in the northwest Quebec mining communities of Kewagama and Rouyn-Noranda from 1936-1968; in Brockville until 1992 and Arnprior Villa and Longfields Manor in Nepean since then. She was a longtime member and former president of the Catholic Women's League at Blessed Sacrament parish in Noranda, Que.

It is with great sadness that the family of Lena Tousaw announce her sudden passing on Tuesday, April 22nd, 2003 at the Brockville General Hospital after a brief illness. Lena, in her 91st year, is survived by her devoted son Lynn (Yvonne) of Detroit, Michigan, and her loving daughter Karen Brooks (Roy) of Brockville. She was a special Grandma of Kirk Tousaw (Debbie) of Vancouver, B.C., and Natasha Tousaw of San Francisco, California; and beloved Nanny of Sara Aaron (Shawn) of Brockville, and Michael Brooks of Ottawa. Proud great grandmother of Kaya Lynn Tousaw of Vancouver and Delayna and Skyler Aaron of Brockville. She is also survived by her nieces Jean Hanes and Betty Willis, and nephews Brent and Brian Casselman, and Jack Tousaw. Lena will be sadly missed by life-long friend Aileen Saundercook. She has gone to join her husband Earl who predeceased her on May 15, 1979, her daughter-in-law Marie-Anne, her two brothers Bill and Jim Lynn, and two sisters Winona Blackwood and Viola Jameson.
