Went home to be with His Lord in his 73rd year on Sunday, July 20, 2003 after a short week of illness at the William Osler Health Center in Etobicoke, Ontario. Beloved husband of Ruth Morin (originally from Medicine Hat, Alberta) and the late June McAlpine (nee Russell). Jim is survived by his 4 children Nancy Cavey (Bill) of Winnipeg, Bruce McAlpine and Russ McAlpine (Lois) both of Waldheim, Sask. and Tanis Macinsky (Mike) of New Hartford, NY. and his 10 loving grandchildren. Jim is survived by his brother Don McAlpine (Donna) of Fergus, Ontario and his sisters-in-law Sadie and Ann. Predeceased by his brothers Ken and Bob. Jim's warm smile and big handshake will be missed greatly by all including his brother -in-law John Russell (Dorothy) of Calgary and also Ruth's loving family David, Donna, Glen, Leslie, Ted and Candace. Born in Dutton, Ontario and later moving to Toronto Jim met June Marilyn Russell. They married and raised a family of four, first in Agincourt, Ontario and then in Ottawa. After June's passing in 1991 Jim married Ruth and they made their way to Calgary for his retirement. His career was primarily as a salesman; his great love was to serve The Lord. He was an active member at the Metropolitan Bible Church when he lived in Ottawa and First Alliance in Calgary. Jim was involved with Friends Of Israel (FOI) and was currently sitting on the board in Canada. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Wednesday, July 23 from 7-9pm and on Thursday, July 24 from 11am until service time in the Chapel at 1pm. passed away peacefully at the Elisabeth Bruyere Centre on Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at the age of 84 years. Teresa is survived by her sister-in-law, Mrs. Frances McCormick and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Veronica McCormick and two brothers, Charles and Jimmy McCormick. A private graveside service will be held at Capital Memorial Gardens.
Helen Madeline Mills (nee Lamon) - 07/16/2003
At home on July 15, 2003 after a brief illness and a life well lived. Much loved wife of William D. Mills. Devoted mother of Kathleen (wife of Graham Macmillan), Janet (wife of Hans Jonasson), David (husband of Shelagh O'Brien) and Tom (husband of Colleen Thurrott). Beloved grandmother of 13 grandchildren. Fondly remembered by sister Babs Woodcock, brothers Reginald and Charles Lamon and sister-in-law Ann Heintzman. Helen was born in Orangeville, Ontario in 1921 and raised in Oshawa. She served as a dental nurse in the Canadian Armed Forces during WWII. Her married life was spent in Ottawa where she enjoyed many happy summers at the family cottage on Lake Clear. A Funeral Service will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 1pm. If friends so desire, the family would prefer that donations be made to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

1943- 2003 Peacefully at Gatineau Memorial Hospital, Wakefield on Wednesday, July 16, 2003, after a long and courageous battle, Muriel Pataki, at age 60 years. Beloved wife of the late Attila Pataki. Loving mother of Lynne Payer of Ste. Cecile-de-Masham, Dale Pataki of Hamilton and Jim Pataki ( Niquel Pritchard) of Combermere. Caring and loving Nana to Jo lle and Thierry Breton-Payer, Dillon Hernden and Cheyenne and Hunter Pataki. Dear sister of Jack ( Lucille) Payer and Jerry ( Janet) Payer, all of Gatineau. Muriel was the special friend to Samantha, Tom and Travis Hernden of Mount Pleasant. Predeceased by her mother Jeanne Stevens and father Rosaire Payer. Was a long time, loyal employee of the Royal Bank in Hamilton. A wonderful mother, Nana, sister, aunt and friend, Muriel will be sadly missed by all. Will be missed by son Glenn and daughter-in-law Lynn of Calgary, brother Raymond of Ottawa and sister Patsy of the Toronto area. Predeceased by sister Hope and brother Keith. Maurice spent time in Montreal and Toronto, operating his construction business before returning to his home town of Ottawa. He will be remembered for his teasing ways and memorable character. (R.P.) World War II Veteran Peacefully, on July 22, 2003 at age 86, long-time resident of Aylmer, QC. Beloved husband and best friend of Betty (nee Fogarty). Dear father of Ron Pittaway (Jean), Richard Pittaway (Donna), Mary Larose (Peter), Michael Yetts (Sharon) and Paula Hines (Dal). Dearly loved, R.P. will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Natasha, Barbara (Troy), Amber, Avery, Jeffrey, Virginia, Tara, Brad, Dal and Shannon, and by his great-granddaughter, Alexus. Predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Kehoe. Ron was a very proud veteran of the Second World War, former Manager of Photographic Stores Ltd., and an accomplished amateur athlete, having played in the 1930s for the University of Ottawa in the Ottawa Junior City Hockey League. Ron was a long-time season ticket holder of the Ottawa Rough Riders and an original supporter of the Ottawa Senators. One of his last wishes was that he be remembered at Grey Cup time and during the Stanley Cup playoffs. Ron also asked to be remembered with smiles and laughter, for that is how he will remember his family and many friends. A private ceremony for the family and closest friends will be held at the Central Chapel of Hulse Playfair & McGarry. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Perley Hospital or the Salvation Army, both causes dear to Ron's heart, would be appreciated.
