Lorne was born in Hamilton, Ontario and spent his life in the transportation industry and became the proud owner of a successful trucking company, Mount Hope Transport Inc. Suddenly at home on Wednesday December 31, 2008 with his loving wife at his side Lorne left us. He is the son of the late Robert Lorne “Fergy” and Betty Ferguson. Loving husband of Brenda. Cherished father of Becky, Robert (Sandra), and Melissa (Neil). Beloved papa of Laysea, Bailey, Cody, Jessie and Morgan. Adored son-in-law of Betty and the late Dave MacDougall. Brother-in-law of the late Dan MacDougall, David MacDougall (Jane), Brian MacDougall, and Elizabeth Jones. Treasured nephew of Lyn and Myrna. Favorite Uncle Lorne to many nieces and nephews. Greatly loved by too many friends to mention. Lorne’s humourous approach to life and its many curves would warm the hearts of anyone in his presence, with his humourous antics, his heartfelt advice and his “Me Too’s,” he has surly left a lasting impression. FIELD, Joyce It is with great sadness that the family of Joyce Field announces her peaceful passing on October 5, 2010 in her 82nd year. She will be fondly missed by her husband Bill, her children Linda Tiley, Glen (Sharon), Jennifer Kubilis (Paul), Martin (Josee), Andrew (Dawn), and her seven grandchildren. She is predeceased by her sisters Evelyn, Ethel, and Verna. Joyce was an avid skier and a member of Holimont Ski Club for many years. Beloved husband of Giuseppina who has tirelessly and faithfully devoted her unconditional love, care and support to Mario through his lengthy illness. Loving father of Mirella Silva and her husband Carlos, Lidia Cimicata and her husband Joe and Rosalie O’Keefe and her husband Cory. Will be lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lucas, Jacob and Mariah Silva and Jordana and John Michael Cimicata. Survived by his sister Emilia Fiorino in Consenza, Italy, his brother-in-law Emilio Cucullo (Ida) and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. Predeceased by his 11 brothers and sisters. At home in Burlington with family on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the age of 64. He will be remembered always by his wife of 36 years, Betty; his son, Tyler; his daughter, Kira; his brother, Pat; his sister, Brenda; his brother-in-law, Ross; his brother and sister in-laws, Ronald and Jane; his seven nieces and nephews; and many friends. Born in Essex County, the son of Gerald and Evelyn. Terry served as epidemiologist for Niagara and Halton Regions Public Health before retiring in 2001. A world traveler alongside his wife, he devoted his retirement years to gardening, tennis and a climactic trip to Antarctica. The family is exceedingly grateful to Dr. John Holmes for his care, to Dr. Pierre Major, and to family friends and neighbours for their support. FOURNIER, Ronald Charles Joseph, 62 years, October 10, 2009.
With profound, aching sadness, we are compelled to announce the passing of a quiet and contemplative, loving and loyal man. Ron accepted his illness with dignity, never complaining during this debilitating and painful time. His devoted children, Kim, David, and Tanya, embodied his greatest pride, with whom he shared love and admiration. They are his legacy. Ron’s strength was both inspiring and humbling.
He will be terribly missed by so many: his heartbroken wife Joy, whom he cherished, children, son-in-law Patrick, gentle mother Mary, loving sister and family Cheryl, Rick and Tara, precious granddaughters Bridgitte and Gabrielle, and caring mother-in-law Bella, among countless other family members and friends. Ron’s Stelco friends will remember “The Duke” for his expertise and work ethics, and “Captain Ron” will leave a void on Dock 2 in Port Dover. Predeceased by father Leo Rene Fournier.
We wish to thank those who touched Ron so greatly in this final stage of his life, including all friends and extended family for their strong support and encouragement. Special thanks to Dr. Gunning and nurse Jeannette for their endless compassion and kindness.
