Onodi, Gyula (Joe) 1940-2011

Onodi, Gyula (Joe)

After a long and courageous battle with cancer, Gyula (Joe) passed away peacefully with his wife Christine & daughter Ilona by his side on Wednesday, March 30, 2011, at the age of 70.

A special thanks to Dr.Patterson & the palliative team at Markham Stouffville Hospital, the CCAC homecare team and Dr. Joshua at PMH.

Visitation will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 1010 Botanical Drive (across from the Royal Botanical Gardens), BURLINGTON (905.527.0405) on Saturday, April 9th, 2011, at 10am, with a Celebration of Joe's Life taking place in the Bay Gardens Chapel at 11am. Inurnment to follow at Bayview cemetery & Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations made to the Princess Margaret Hospital, Markam-Stouffville Hospital, Cancer Assistance Program, or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the Onodi family.

Nardone, Angelo (Tony) 1925-2011

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Tony on March 27, 2011 at 11pm. Surrounded by loved ones, his courageous battle with cancer ended and he now runs with the Angels in Heaven. Beloved husband of Luigia Nardone (nee DeLuca), cherished father of Tana Mirra (& Carmen), Jerry Nardone (& Wilma) and Robert Nardone &(Natalie). Loving grandfather to Jessica, Cyndi, Jaclyn, Rachel, Andrea, Marco, Valentina, Mya and Hannah. Dear brother to Angela Manganiello, Tommasina Barletta, Luigia Manganiello and his sisters in heaven Maria Annicchiarico and Giuseppina Annichiaricco. He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and friends. As an active member of the Avellinesi Club of Hamilton, he sought to bring union to and celebrate culture with the great number of friends and family of like heritage. Tony lived life with passion and goodness, he loved to create woodwork for his loved ones and was a shining example of devotion and goodwill. Special thanks to the staff and doctors at the Juravinski Hospital for your compassionate care and support. Visitation will be held at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, William J Markey Chapel, 947 Rymal Rd East on Wednesday from 7-9pm and Thursday from 3-5pm and 7-9 pm. Vigil prayers on Thursday at 8pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday April 1, 2011 at 10pm, at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery in Burlington. Memorial donations may be made to The Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society.

Johnston, Lillian 1917-2011

passed away peacefully at Heritage Green Nursing Home, on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 in her 94th year. Beloved wife of the late Andrew. Loving mother of David and Helen Johnston, Helen & Jim Sherriff. Grandmother of Julie Johnston, Shari Rollason (Ernie) & Andrew Johnston, Jamie (Tara) & Jeff (Lyra) Sherriff. Great Grandmother of Ashlie and Hayden Wolframe, Chansen & Alex Rollason, Tyler and Drew, Cole & Tatum Sherriff. Survived by sister Helen Jones, brothers Joseph (Linda) & Frank (Donna) Bowland. Survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by sister Lou Hauser, brothers Jack and Ben Bowland. Cremation has taken place at Lillian’s wishes. Many thanks to staff at Heritage Green Nursing Home for their love and care during Lillian’s stay there.

Button, Peter Frank 1947-2011

Peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital, surrounded by his loving family Peter passed away in his 64th year on Sunday, March 20, 2011. Beloved husband and best friend of Irene. Loving father of Greggor King, Annette Bright (John), Corrine Comeau (Tom), Chad Button (Vivian), Craig Button and Chris Button (Sammie). Cherished Papa to 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Also survived by sisters Barb Clark (Chic), Jackie Rex (Pete), Nancy Seeley, and brother Leonard (Helen). Peter will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Peacefully the family is saddened to announce the passing of Errol on March 2, 2011 at the age of 87 at Joseph Brant Memorial Hospital in Burlington. Predeceased by his wife Monica Rennie. Cherished father and father-in-law of Claver (Orise), Ray (Grier), Neil (Guyanne), David, Eileen (Gerald) Coombs. Adored grandfather of Joe, Jamie, Margie, Casey (Charlene), Christine (Peter), Ian, and Adrian. Great grandfather of Lucas, Nicholas, Jenna, and Amy. Much loved brother of Gloria (late Ken), Walter (Valerie), (Late)Douglas (Eva), the late Noel (Barbara). Dear and special friend of Joyce Powell. Dear husband of Ljuba for 57 years. Loving father of Mike/Mico (Lenka). Dada to Alex, Alexandra, Luka and Elena.

Predeceaed by his brother Simo, and survived by his brothers Stevo, Dragan, Jovo, Vojo, Slavko, special cousin Dusko, and their families. He will be deeply missed by all of his family, Kumovi and friends in Canada, Serbia and Croatia.

Special thank you to Dr Michael Stephenson, St Joseph’s Firestone Clinic, Dr Pugsley, nurse Mary Pierce, and the rest of the nursing staff.

Suddenly in her 65th year at Juravinski Hospital. Born in Macedonia. Predeceased by her parents Kosta and Kostadinka Michaildis and sister Anastasia. Survived by husband William (Bill), sons Louie and Jimmy (Sandra), brother John Michaildis, sister Stephany (Mike) Kelly and nephew Stephen (Tara) Kelly. Also survived by grandchildren Sevhra, James , Kristopher and Carlie and great nephews Jackson and Christopher.

Family invites relatives and friends for visitation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME “William J. Markey Chapel”, 947 Rymal Rd E, HAMILTON (905.574.0405), on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9pm prayer service on Sunday and Monday at 7pm. Unexpectedly on Saturday February 12, 2011 at the age of 3. Cherished daughter of Nicolina Vecchiarelli and Chris Kay. Adored sister of Corban and Isaac. Known as ‘Little Miss Muffet’ to her loving grandparents Rose and Ron Kay and her great grandma Dorothy Kay. Will be sadly missed by her Auntie Amy Kay (Steve Lord) and Auntie Mel (Murray) McDonald. Will be fondly remembered and loved by Melody Smith, Nonno, Nonna and Uncle Giovanni Vecchiarelli. Kara will remain in the hearts of many family and friends.

Peacefully at the Juravinski Hospital surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday February 17, 2011. at the age of 68. Cherished husband for 45 years to Vittoria (nee Petruzzi) . Loving father and father in-law of Maria (Salvatore) Piazza, Mike (Linda) Salatino, and Peter (Rizza) Salatino. Adored nonno of Michela, Mariah, Marcus and Nico. Dearest brother and brother in-law Amatore (Maria), Guisepinna and the late Rocco, predeceased by Oronzo (Antonia), Vito (Gulietta), Ninetta (Nicola) and Angelina all of Italy. Sadly missed by Rosa Maria (Tony) Salmone, Domenic (Francis) Petruzzi, and Pino (Nancy) Petruzzi. Rocco will be sadly missed by many aunts and uncles in Canada and in Italy. He will also be missed by many nieces nephews cousins and friends. Vistation at BAY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME William J Markey Chapel 947 Rymal Rd E. on Sunday 6-9 pm and Monday 5-9pm.
