Kricorissian, Bedros (Peter) Raphael
Peacefully in hospital on Monday, July 21, 2008, in his 95th year. Beloved husband of the late Seta. Dear father of Gregg (Donna) and Linda Kricorissian (James Perry). Loving grandfather of Ryan and Julie Kricorissian, Alex and Andrew Perry. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Doctors and staff of the Ottawa Hospital Civic Campus, B5 and the Geriatric Assessment Unit (GAU) for their care and support. They would also like to thank the staff at Park Place Retirement Residence (Ottawa) for their care and attention. Special thanks to Dr. Mark Nowaczynski, of Toronto, a dedicated advocate of homecare for the elderly. A memorial service will be held in Toronto at a later date.

Dear sister of Birgitta Meier (Herb), Leif (Diane), Rolf (Jan), William (Nancy), Sylvia Den Hollander (Dan), Joy Guptill (Rod) and Laurie Carson (Jeff). Daughter of the late Carl Silfwerbrand and the late Martha Pilth. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean on Tuesday, July 29 from 7 – 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Arlington Woods Free Methodist Church, 225 McClellan Rd., Nepean on Wednesday, July 30 at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Caring grandfather of Matthew, Jason and Aaron. Survived by his sisters Gertrude, Irene, Marion and Joyce. Predeceased by 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Loving great-grandmother of Samantha, Curtis, Jason, Alicia, Kaitlyn, Stephanie and Madeline. Survived by brothers Howard and Gordon as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Great grandmother of Christopher (Antonia), Robbie, James, Ambur, Alycia, Amanda, Matthew, Ryan, Samantha, Connor, Ethan, Timothy, Gabriel and Cain. Predeceased by sister Simone (Laurent Boucher) and brothers Lionel (Jeanne), Phillipe (Jacqueline) and Emile (Françoise). Also survived by sisters-in-law Bernice and Norma and brothers-in-law Norman and Francis, as well as many nieces and nephews. Carol Anne (Hillsdon) Egerton, passed away at her home in Carleton Place, Ontario on July 27, 2008 in her 70th year. She is survived by her two daughters, Paula (Serge) Rosa and Marie (Tony) Steele, her grandson Christian and granddaughter Emily. Sister of Barbara (Witek) Klawe and Marilyn (Hennie) Schoeman, twin brother David (Frances) Hillsdon and sister-in-law Margaret Hillsdon and by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunt Elfrida (Falkner) Begernie and many cousins in England, Canada and USA. She was predeceased by her father Harold Hillsdon, mother Kathleen (Falkner), sister Sheila (Hillsdon) Clampitt and brother Gerald. Mattok, Dr. George Lionel
MATTOK, Dr. George Lionel
Peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, November 11, 2003, in his 72nd year after a seven month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Beloved husband of Denise. George's zest for life and love of his family is treasured by daughters Anna (Harry Baker), Clare, Ruth (Alan Pollock), Hilary and Sarah. Proud Grandad of Ariel and James Pollock, Alex and Adam Baker. George was predeceased by his brother Tony (Sheila). He will be missed by sisters Yvonne (the late Jack Menzies), Marjorie (Bob Martin) and Valerie Young, and many nieces and nephews.
George was well known for his optimism, sense of humour and his love of books, which continued throughout his illness. He will be fondly remembered by his family who will carry on his favourite tradition of summer gatherings at the cottage. Born in Rotherham, Yorks, England, George received his education at Hornchurch Grammar School and graduated from the University of Wales, Cardiff with a B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry. He taught at Wye College, University of London upon graduation. Inspired by the leading edge research of Dr. Ray Lemieux, he moved to Canada in 1959 to join the University of Ottawa as a Research Fellow. In 1961, he joined Dr. Abram Hoffer's world-renowned schizophrenia research team at the University of Saskatchewan as Chief Research Scientist. In 1967, he joined the Health Protection Branch, Health & Welfare Canada, where he eventually became the Chief of the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Division and founding Editor of the Journal of Biopharmaceutics & Drug Disposition. Since retirement in 1998, George spent many happy hours organizing the Antiquarian Book Auctions for the Friends of the National Library.
A special thank you to Dr. Tara Tucker, the Palliative Care Outreach Team and the Saint Elizabeth nurses who were so supportive to both George and his family.
Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd), on Thursday, November 13, 2003, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm.
