Eleanor Lois Kidd - 02/14/2004

In Ottawa at the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre on Monday, February 9, 2004 at the age of 84. Eleanor was the youngest child of the late Reverend Charles and Mary Youngson Kidd of Gananoque, Ontario. Sister of Catharine Sparrow, the late Paul J.G. Kidd and the late Charles S. Kidd. Aunt of Virginia Cooper and Ruth White: Douglas and Paul Bowie: Charles (Cap), Paul Katie Kidd. Great Aunt of Mary Catherine Hanson and John Gates; Mary Beth Allard, Amy and Emily White: Alison Bowie; David, James and Laura Bowie; Kevin and Allison Kidd. Great Grand Aunt of Madilyn and Caitlyn Gates. A graduate of Queens University (Arts 43), Eleanor worked for the Federal Government as an Administrative Officer for the Defence Research Board. After retirement, summers were spent at her cherished cottage on the St. Lawrence in Gananoque. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful friends , neighbors and caregivers who have helped Eleanor both in Gananoque and Ottawa during her long illness. Special thanks to the Ottawa Hospital, the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre and the Community Nursing Registry. According to Eleanor's wishes, her ashes will be interred in a graveside service in Gananoque in the spring. As Eleanor was an avid reader, in memoriam donations to the Gananoque Public Library , 100 Park St. Gananoque, Ontario, K7G 2Y5 would be appreciated.

Roderick Earl LeBreton - 02/09/2004

Peacefully, on Saturday, February 7, 2004 at the age 56. Loving father of Ryan and step-daughter Carol. Dear son of Eleanor LeBreton and the late Allan LeBreton. Fond brother of Don (Willa), Bev (Jim), Bill (Deb), Wally, Mike (Gil), Dave (Penny). Predeceased by brother Allan and Sister Martha-Anne. Will be lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews and friends. Special thanks to Dianna, Janet and Jos e for their support. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Tuesday, February 10th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel on February 11th, 2004 at 2 pm. In memoriam donations can be made to the Elisabeth Bruyere Health Centre Palliative Care.

Helen Isabelle MacDougall - 02/16/2004

passed away on Saturday, February 14, 2004, aged 80 years. Beloved wife of the late Roland (Ron) MacDougall. Cherished mother of R. Gordon (Willa-Jean) and Dr. W. Gregory (Barbara). Devoted Nana of Erin (Cary Comer), Alison, Anne and Andrew MacDougall. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 from 5pm. Until service time in the chapel at 7pm. Private Interment to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ottawa Heart Institute.

Peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, February 8, 2004. Beloved husband of Joan (nee Gregory) amd loving father of Carol Edgecombe (Don) and John (Lieta). Dear grandfather of Elisabeth Lanthier (Shawn), Catherine Edgecombe, Christopher Edgecombe, Anthony Manistre, Victoria Manistre and dear brother of Kathleen Manistre. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 315 McLeod Street on Monday, February 16, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 2pm. William (Bill) Judson Martin - 02/13/2004

(Retired Canadian Armed Forces and Ottawa Police Department Suddenly but peacefully at his winter home in Vero Beach Florida, on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 in his 74th year. Also resident of White Lake, Ontario and formerly of Ottawa. Beloved father of W. Judson Martin and his wife Shirley. Husband of the late Wilda Delaney and brother of Joan Blatt and the late Beverley Bonis. Dear son of Louise Martin and the late Frederick Judson Martin. Brother-in-law of Ruth Delaney and David Bonis. Also survived by nieces, Sharon Williams, Carol Przepiora, Colleen Delaney and a nephew Martin Bonis and their families. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry 150 Woodroffe Avenue, Ottawa (at Richmond Road), on Monday, February 16, 2004 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, February 17, 2004 at 2pm. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers donations to Respirology Research at Mount Sinai Hospital, c/o Mount Sinai Auxiliary, suite 208-600 University Avenue Toronto, Ontario M5G 1X5 would be appreciated.

Allan Douglas McCulloch - 02/07/2004

(1932-2004) passed away peacefully on February 5th, 2004 at the Civic Campus of the Ottawa Hospital. Loving father to his daughter Tracey, his son Michael and daughter in law Rosemary. Allan will be missed by his very dear and special friend Cecile Laplante, his brothers Peter and Ross, sister Lynn, and godson David. Allan's work in the Pharmaceutical industry and his countless volunteer hours on many community Boards in Ottawa was a sign of his caring and love for people. Allan enjoyed life to the fullest; especially his walks in the Gatineau Hills. He will be fondly remembered by his many friends, extended family and business associates. A celebration of Thanksgiving and remembrance followed by a reception will be held on Tuesday, February 17th, 4:30pm, at the Church of the Ascension, 253 Echo Drive, Ottawa. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Organ and Tissue Donation Program of the Ottawa Hospital and the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Kathleen May McKendrick (nee Foster) - 01/28/2004

Ret'd R.C.M.P. Civilian Member Peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, January 27, 2004 in her 83rd year. Predeceased by her husband Raymond. Dearest mother of Cheryl and Nancy Black (Bryan) of Aurora. Beloved grandmother of Tara Dawn, Hayley, Jaclyn, Brendan and Reid. Cherished great-grandmother of Keelana. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at the Aviation Parkway on Thursday, January 29th from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 30th at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Roman Catholic Church, 400 St. Laurent Blvd. at 10:30am. Reception to follow at Ogilvie Villa, 1345 Ogilvie Road. Warmest thank yous to the staff at the Montfort Hospital, Dr. Eric Landriault and the staff at Ogilvie Villa. Phyllis E. (nee Hayman) McQueen - 02/11/2004

Peacefully at the Queensway Carleton Hospital on Tuesday, February 10, 2004 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late John McQueen for 55 years. Dear sister of the late David M. Hayman and sister-in-law Barbara Hayman. Cherished aunt of David C. Hayman (Claire), Arlene Anderson (Jim) and the late Phillip Hayman (Sarah). Loving great-aunt of Natalie, Rachael and Erica Anderson. She will be fondly remembered by family, friends and neighbours. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Thursday, February 12, 2004 from 9:30am until service time in the Chapel at 11am. John Newton - 02/11/2004

Suddenly on February 8, 2004 in his 83rd year. Dearly beloved husband of Joyce (nee Hamlet) for 56 years, loving father of John and Mary Joy, father-in-law of Sandra (DeAthe) and Brian B. Murphy. Much loved by his granddaughter Erin Murphy and grandson Peter B. Murphy. Predeceased by his parents John and Emmie May Manger. John was born in England, educated at Norwich School and served his country in the Royal Engineers between 1939 and 1946 attaining the rank of Major and seeing action in Normandy, Walcheren and the crossing of the Rhine. He came to Canada in 1949 for Cadbury Bros. of Bourneville and settled in Montr al, retiring in 1978 as a Director of the Canadian Company. His community interests included more than 30 years non-uniformed volunteer work for Scouts Canada for which he was awarded the Bar To The Silver Acorn and, the Canadian Bobsleigh and Luge Association and the Canadian Ski Association for which he was Executive Director. Friends may attend the funeral service at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, Ottawa on Friday, February 13 at 3:00 pm. Reception to follow. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, 40, rue Ruskin Street, Ottawa K1Y 4W7 or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
