Faithfully served his fellow Canadians in both war and peace from 1937 to 1968, as a member of the RCAF, with dignity and integrity. Predeceased by his wife Doris (nee Green) in 2001. Predeceased by his siblings, sister Catherine and brothers Les, Gordon, David, Ian, Ken and Robert. Loving father of Don (Nancy), Sherwood Park, AB and Bobby (Ikuko), Orleans, ON. passed away peacefully in hospital on Thursday, November 25, 2010 at the age of 88 years. Beloved husband of 65 years to Joyce (nee Baird). Devoted father of Stan (Rita), Lee (Maureen), and the late Valerie Shortell (Gary). Cherished grandfather of Tracy (Niall), Tanya (Brian), Vanessa (Bryn), Linsey (Mark) and Scott (Lisa), as well as great-grandfather of Garrett, Rory, Kylan, Isabelle, and Amelia. Elliott is survived by his brother Ernie Sherman as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in Swan River, Manitoba (1929) Jack graduated from the University of Manitoba (Geology) and acquired a second degree (Economics) from Carleton University. Devoted and loving husband of 55 years to Aline (Bernier); beloved father of Michael (Kathy), Paula and James and adored grandfather of Allyson and Justin. He is also survived by his sister Betty (Goodwin) and many nephews and nieces.
