McGilveray, Ann Dinning Watson
Ann passed away peacefully at the Queensway-Carleton hospital on Thursday, December 9th at the age of 72. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 43 years, Iain, her loving daughter Jeanie (Christopher Barnes), her sister Jean Sellar of Elgin, Scotland, her brother John Sellar (Claire) of Salt Spring Island, B.C., her nephews Alan (Sue) McGilveray, and Graeme Penny (Caroline), and her nieces Anne Falcone (Ron) and Roslyn Connell (Douglas). Born near Peterhead, Scotland and educated at Glasgow University, Ann emigrated in 1967 having been a research pharmacist and lecturer (Aberdeen, Scotland). Initially she was involved with clinical pharmacy for cancer care (Ottawa Civic) but became a full time mother for some years before returning to community pharmacy in the West end before retirement. She enjoyed her garden until her frailty intervened, but never missed a chance to visit famous gardens in her travels. Friends are invited to Woodroffe United Church, 207 Woodroffe Avenue, on Tuesday, December 14th, for visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. and a service in celebration of Ann’s life at 11:30 a.m. Thanks to the ICU and other staff of Queensway-Carleton Hospital. Proud and cherished grandmother of 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, and 1 grandson who predeceased her. passed away suddenly at home doing what he enjoyed, Saturday December 11, 2010, in his 66th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife Diane (nee Rolland), loving Father to Samantha (Marco), Peter (Heather), and Dawna, Proud grandfather of Danica, Riley, Chloé and Anthony. Dear son of the late Antonio and late Margot Boisclair, son in law of Norma and the late Roger Rolland. Peter was many things, son, husband, father, brother, generous person, good friend, bon vivant, and at times, a bit of a rebel. He will be missed by all. "A truly Great Mother and Wife." Died peacefully September 14, 2003 in her home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Her 51 years were too short and she will be missed.
