MARGERISON, Ruth Helen (nee Shannon) -
March 4, 1938 - January 11, 2001. passed away peacefully after succumbing to her battle with cancer at Royal Victoria Hospital in Barrie. Beloved wife of the late David John Margerison and loving mother to Heather Margerison (husband, James Clarke), Cathy VanNus (husband, Paul), Scott Margerison (wife, Denise Dagenais), Brenda Clissold (husband, Darren). Grandma to Kari, Erin, Matthew, Darcy, Janine, Corinna, Katrina, and Spencer. Also survived by her mother Edna Shannon and sister Beth Murray (nee Shannon). A memorial service will be held at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 15, 2001. Donations to cancer research would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to MCEachnie Funeral Home, Pickering. (905) 428-8488.

McNEIL, Paul William John -
At Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Thursday, January 11th, 2001, died peacefully after a lengthy and courageous battle. Beloved husband for 41 years of Barbara. Loving father of Steven and Arlene, Mark, Kim and Bruce, John and Cathie. Papa will be lovingly remembered by Tyler, Meaghan, Krysten, Kyle, Quinn and Alicia. Will be sadly missed by brother Michael and his wife Charlyne and many other relatives and friends. Friends may call at Oshawa Funeral Service “Thornton Chapel” 847 King St. West (721-1234) for visitation on Sunday, January 14th from 2 -4 and 7- 9 P.M. A Masonic Service under the Auspices of Lebanon Masonic Lodge #139 will be held at the Funeral Home Sunday at 7:00 P.M. A Service of Remembrance will be held in the Chapel on Monday, January 15th at 11:00 A.M. Interment of Cremated Remains at Mount Lawn cemetery. Memorial Donations to the Masonic Foundation or Respiratory Services at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa would be appreciated.

PENWELL, Caleb John (Kip) -
(30 plus employee of Canada Wire and Cable). Aged 86 years, after a lengthy battle with cancer at Sunnybrook Hospital. Caleb was a resident of George Hees Wing at Sunnybrook. Lovingly remembered by his wife Lydia and his children and their spouses Dorothy and Malcolm, Bea and Kevin, Charles and Rebecca, Wilson and Greer, Morgan and Andrea and Betty and Bob. Sadly missed by his grandchildren Morgan, Andy, Tim, Mary, Fred, Robert and Lynn and his six great-grandchildren. Caleb is survived by his sisters Rose and Virginia and predeceased by his brothers Tom and Bob and sisters Irene and Anne. The family would like to extend their thanks to the Staff at George Hees for all of their care and compassion and a special thank you to Dr. Kevin Imrie and his staff at the Sunnybrook Cancer Centre. KROHN, Lieselotte, Margarete -
Peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer, early on Wednesday, January 10, 2001, at home in the care of her family. Lilo Krohn age 62, beloved wife of the late Werner. Dearest mama of Rita and Yvonne; much loved Oma of Daniel; mother-in-law of Carol and Michel; daughter of Bertha Gottschall of Courtice; sister of Hildegard Lang and family of Germany and cherished friend of Gerda Witteck. Her ever-present strength and loving, caring nature will always be remembered and cherished. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at McIntosh-Anderson Funeral Home Ltd., 152 King St. E. passed away peacefully at the family farm "Hilltop", Hope Township, on Wednesday, January 10th, 2001 at the age of 70. Anita Nicholls, cherished wife of the late Earle Frederick McBride for 49 wonderful years. Loving mother of Fred (Irene), Gussie (Elizabeth), Marjorie (Mrs. Leon Barkwell), Larrie (Barbara), Laurie (Mrs. Robert Clark), Julie (Mrs. Les Cowlard), Connie (Mrs. John Bachmaier), Aimie (Mrs. Charlie Harris), Leslie (Kim), Lonnie (Debra), Jeramie (Debi), and Melanie (Mrs. Warren Stapleton). Loving grandma of 37 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents Roy and Marjorie Nicholls. Sister of Clarence (Dora), Marion (Mrs. Errol Maynard), Jean Burley and Neal (Barbara). Anita McBride was a wonderful lady. We will miss you forever Mom. Mr. and Mrs. Earle McBride will dance again. Friends were invited to call at the Ross Funeral Chapel, 135 Walton St., Port Hope, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Service was held at Port Hope United Church, on Saturday, January 13th at 10:00 am. Entered into rest at Lakeridge Health Corp. in Port Perry on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2001 in his 86th year. Garnet Wilfred Wagg of Sunderland was the beloved husband of the late Peggy Wagg (2000). Dearly remembered by many nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours. Friends are invited to call at the Thorne Memorial Chapel in Sunderland on Saturday, January 13th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm. Funeral service complete in the chapel on Sunday at 1 pm. Interment later at Salem cemetery in Brooklin. As a remembrance, donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Tragically in Bowmanville on Wednesday January 10, 2001 at the age of 72. Beloved father of Rob and his wife Denise. Proud grandfather of Zach and Josh. Sadly missed by the Gallagher clan. Fondly remembered by his family, friends, and fellow umpires. At Kingston General Hospital on January 9, 2001. Chuck, in his 60th year, son of the late Wally and Betty Armstrong, and father of Robert, Chantal and Eric Armstrong. passed away at home after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, January 9th, 2001. June Burtch beloved wife of Bill Burtch. Loved mother of Robert, Susan, Sandy and her husband Tom, Shari and her husband Wayne, Cindy and her husband Dean. Loved grandmother of 10 grandchildren. Sister of Norma and her husband Ken. Stepdaughter to Edith Hurd. A memorial service to celebrate June's life will be held at St. George's Anglican Church, Randell Drive, Pickering Village, Ajax on Saturday, January 20th, 2001 at 2 P.M. Private cremation has taken place. In June's memory donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Peacefully with her family by her side on January 9, 2001. Ivy Lynne, beloved mother to Tracy Thompson, Amber and her husband Jim Goodley. Loving dad of Nancy and her husband Bill Catchpole. Much loved grandpa of Heather and proud great-grandpa of Cheyenne. Predeceased by sister Ruth and brothers Don and Warren.
