Eastern Star Member, Success Chapter #30 and Sakina Temple #145, Daughters of the Nile. At Grace Manor on Monday, June 21, 2004 at age 87 years. Beloved wife of the late Edgar. Survived by a sister Gloria Cherry of Vancouver and many dear nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, Ottawa, on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm,with an Eastern Star Service being held in the Chapel at 7pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 1pm. Interment St. James cemetery , Carp. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Grace Manor would be appreciated.

Jessie Elliott Orchard (nee Chisholm) - 06/23/2004

At The Glebe Centre, on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 Jessie Elliott Chisholm Orchard, in her 107th year. Beloved wife of the late Richard Orchard and mother of the late Phyllis Bethany. Survived by her sister Winnifred Clarke, her granddaughter Susan Herron and many loved nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at The Glebe Centre, main floor, 950 Bank Street, Ottawa on Friday, June 25, 2004 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute to the work of The Glebe Centre, 950 Bank Street, Ottawa, K1S 5G6. Appreciation and heartfelt thanks to the 10th floor nursing staff, to Zita Hagan and Theresa Flocker.

Alain Ferdinand Paquette - 06/30/2004

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, Alain, on Tuesday, June 29th, 2004 at the age of 29. Cherished son of Marcel Paquette and Pauline (LeBlanc). Loving brother of Julie (Sylvain) Lanois, uncle of Magalie and M lina. Dear grandson of Madeleine LeBlanc and predeceased by Edgar LeBlanc. Predeceased by his grandparents Juliette and Ferdinand Paquette. Alain will also be missed by many uncles, aunts and cousins. Family and Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Friday July 2nd from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 10pm. A Memorial Service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, July 3rd at 10am. Final Interment to take place in Marionville, Ontario. For those who wish, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation

Ret'd Chief Warrant Officer Department of National Defence Peacefully surrounded by his family at the Ottawa General Hospital on June 29, 2004, at the age of 69 years. Beloved husband of Florence. Loving father to Kim (Janey), Lynn (Warren) and Robert (Christine). Dear Papa to Christine, Michael, Joey, Jesse and Jacob. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Thursday, July 1 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 10am. Interment to follow at Pinecrest cemetery. If friends so desire memorial tributes may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Chadi Charbel Rizk - 06/29/2004

Died tragically June 29, 2004 in Ottawa at the age of 19 years. Beloved son of Elie and Rima Rizk. Loving brother of Joseph-Jean Rizk and Michael Rizk. Dear grandson of Karam and Odette Estephan and aunt Nabiha. He will also be missed by his great grandmother Genevieve Estephan. Chadi was predeceased by his grandparents Youssef and Hanne Rizk. He will also lovingly be remembered by members of the Rizk, Estephan, Chalhoub, Massaad, Saab, Awad, Saliba, Jabour and Abraham families and many close friends. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway, Ottawa on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Charbel Maronite Catholic Church, 245 Donald Street, Ottawa on Friday, July 2nd, 2004 at 2pm. Interment to follow at Beechwood cemetery.

Marjorie Laing McGregor Ruwald-Major - 07/01/2004

passed away quietly after a lengthly illness, in the hands of her son, in her 80th year. Beloved mother of David McGregor Ruwald (Janice). Cherished grandmother of Landon Lackey-Ruwald (Nicole), Erika and Chelsea Lackey-Ruwald. Mother-in-law of Bonni Boucher, (Larry Hackman). Grandmother to Michael Hackman. Marjorie was the daughter of the late F.A. McGregor and Isobel McGregor. Predeceased by her first husband Donald Ruwald, her daughter Heather Isobel, her son Michael Edwin (Bonni Boucher) and her soul mate and late husband William G. Major. Marjorie is survived by her dear sister Mrs. Elspeth Van Agt (Franz) of the Netherlands, and by several nieces and nephews in Ottawa and the Netherlands. Marjorie was a graduate of McMaster University. She and her husband Donald Ruwald lived on Wards Island Toronto until his untimely death in 1966. She then moved back to her hometown of Ottawa. The family will receive condolences at the Memorial Funeral Home of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 584 Somerset Street West 613-233-4773 on Monday July 5th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Memorial service and interment of cremated remains will be announced at a later date and time. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. We would like to give our heartfelt thanks to Villa Marconi 3rd floor staff for their love and care, to the Retire at Home Crew, to The Rev. Cannon Wayne Thomas and his wife Daphne, to Alice Yoch, and mostly to Karen Mohamed and Bibi Mohamed of My Home Respite Care. You were all not only excellent caregivers, but Marjorie s friends and family as well.

Peacefully in hospital surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at the age of 77. Dear daughter of the late John Morris and Bertha Gormley. Dearly beloved wife of the late Fernand. Loving mother of Michael (Shea Miller), David (Jo-Anne) and Sandra Curry (John). Fondly remembered by her 4 grandchildren Shannon, Shon, Fiona and Jamie. Dear sister of Evelyn Brownrigg (Harold). Predeceased by 1 brother Laurence Morris and 1 sister Ellen Cuthbert. Also survived by her nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be held at St.Ignatius Roman Catholic Church, 518 Donald Street, Ottawa, on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 11 a.m. As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions to the Arthritis Society, 2269 Riverside Drive, Unit 20, Ottawa, K1H 8K2, would be appreciated by the family.

Lawrence (Larry) Francis Schoenherr - 06/21/2004

Warrant Officer 1st Class R.C.A.F. Veteran, WWII In hospital after a long struggle with Alzheimers on Sunday, June 20, 2004 in his 90th year. Beloved husband and soulmate for 64 years of Doris (Nee Messerschmidt), loved father of Liz Steel (Frank), and Heather Darch. Cherished grandfather of Michael Steel (Sharon Hodder), Todd Steel (Mary), Karen Noseworthy (Andy), Brad Darch (Danielle Dewar) and Lisa Darch (Adam Marshall). Loving great-gramps of Emma, Emily, Jack, Lauren and Amy. Predeceased by his parents Frank and Marion and sisters Millie, Eleanor and Marion. Larry served his country with distinction in WWII. He continued his chosen career in his beloved R.C.A.F. until retirement in 1967. For over 60 years, Lake Dore in the Ottawa Valley was home for Larry and Doris. The "lake" was their special place to share. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street after 11am Wednesday, June 23rd, 2004 until service time in the chapel at 2:30pm. Interment Beechwood cemetery. Memorial donations to "Passing the Torch Campaign" for the new Canadian War Museum or the Distress Centre would be appreciated. The family is grateful for the kindness and special care by the staff at Governor's Walk and the staff of B5 at the Civic Hospital and especially the incredible Dan.

Dr. Lew Bohdan Stelmach - 06/30/2004

After a courageous battle with cancer, Lew, age 46, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He lived a short but rich life as an academic, research scientist, sportsman, nature enthusiast, family man and friend. His loss will be felt by the Canadian Scientific community particularily the Communications Research Centre and Carleton University where he worked as a senior research scientist and professor. He will be remembered by all as a loving and kind person, generous to a fault, who lived life as an adventure, experienced to the fullest. Lew is survived by his parents Petro and Iwanna Stelmach; sister Emilia Stelmach (Oleh Dmytriv); nephew Daniel; former wife Vera Yuzyk, daughter Paula Stelmach and loving partner Joanna Pozzulo. He will also be missed by his extended family and friends. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Thursday, July 1st, 2004 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm. Panachyda (Prayers) will be held at 7pm. A Funeral Service will be held at St. John the Baptist Ukranian Catholic Shrine, 952 Green Valley Crescent on Friday, July 2nd at 10am. In lieu of flowers donations to the Holy Spirit Ukranian Catholic Seminary, 1030 Baseline Road, Ottawa, K2C 0A6 would be appreciated.

Ruby Elizabeth Thibodeau (nee Pierce) - 07/01/2004

Peacefully in Ottawa on Sunday, June 27th, 2004 at the age of 85. Dearly beloved wife of Norman Veary and the late Patrick Thibodeau. Loving mother of Pat Trepanier (Bernie). Loving grandmother of Pamela Armstrong (Andrew) and Shawn and great-grandmother of Madison. Dear sister of Stanley (Margarite). Predeceased by her 3 brothers George, John and Ken. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends amy visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Sunday July 4th, 2004 from 7 to 9pm. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Annunciation of the Lord Roman Catholic Church, 2414 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa on Monday, July 5th at 11:00am. As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions to the Extendicare Starwood, 114 Starwood Road, Ottawa K2G 3N5 would be appreciated by the family.
