Peacefully in her sleep, Tuesday, September 25, 2001, in her own room at Sunnycrest Retirement Villa, Whitby, Ontario, at the age of 92. She was born in Napanee, Ontario on June 26, 1909, daughter of Deaconess Salome Caverly (nee Foote) and Deacon Harvey S. Caverly of The Pilgrim Holiness Movement. The family was raised in Oshawa. Almira shared a home with her late sister, Ann and her late brother-in-law, Bethel Clark, near Hampton, Ontario. She was also predeceased by her brother Verner Caverly, her sister Mildred Ennis and a sister, Ruby, in childhood. She is survived by her sister-in-law Ethel Caverly. Next-of-kin are her six nieces and nephews: Margery McCoy, Donald Ennis, Jean Barlow, Glenn Caverly, Bob Caverly and Norma Crofts and their children. Freda Almira Caverly worked 43 years as a secretary for General Motors, retiring in 1970. She enjoyed a full retirement life with Ann and Bethel, travelling as the Clark-Caverly Trio musical group.
