FUSCO, Marietta -
At Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville on Sunday, September 9th, 2001. Marietta Fusco in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the tate Donato Fusco. Loving mother of Peter Fusco and his wife Virginia and Jimmy Fusco. Predeceased by her brother, Vincent Fusco and her sisters Dianna Citano, Annina lantomasi and Maddalena Fusco. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Danny Fusco and Maria Zanatta and by her great grandchildren Marcangelo, Zanatta, Ashley Fusco and Jessica Fusco. Marietta will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews in Oshawa, Hamilton and Italy. Resting at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa, with Mass of Christian Burial from St. Mary of the People Roman Catholic Church on Friday September 14, 2001 at 11:30 a.m. Interment Resurrection cemetery. Memorial donations to the Mainwood Life Care Spa or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated. Visitation Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

HUNTER, Cathryn Lori (Cathy) -
After a courageous battle with cancer, passed away at the Kingston General Hospital, with family at her side, on Sunday, September 9, 2001, at the age of 44. Loving companion of 25 years to Howard Thompson, Cherished mom of Tom and Paula, Judy and Steven, and Howie Jr. and Patricia. She would have been a proud and loving grand- mother to her grandson soon to arrive. Predeceased by her mother Judith. She will be greatly missed by Aunts Carolyn and Martha, Uncle Bill and Ruth and many uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Loving sister of David, Gary, Rhonda, John and predeceased by Richard. Best friend of Roberta. Fondly remembered by her co-workers at P.P.G., Oshawa. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax form 2-4 & 7-9 pm Wednesday. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Thursday, September 13, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Interment . Bowmanville cemetery.

SMOLICA, Victor Sr. -
Longtime employee of General Motors. Peacefully at his home in Oshawa on Sunday, September 9, 2001 at the age of 62. Victor will be missed by his son Victor Smolica Jr., and Victor Jrs’. mother Henryka Kwasny, a brother and sisters and their families in Yugoslavia and cousin Ervino of Toronto. Friends may call at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa, on Tuesday September 11th from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Wednesday September 12th at 11 a.m. Interment Resurrection Catholic cemetery. DENNIS, William (Bill) -
Suddenly at his home in Toronto on Saturday, September 8th, 2001 at the age of 63. Loving father of Monique. Beloved son of Stella and the late John Dennis. Brother of Gerald and Nick and his wife Dawn, Bill will be missed by Lynne and many nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, September 18th at 1:00 o’clock at Orono United Church (105 Church St., Orono). Memorial Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. HINES, Kathaleen Margaret -
At Ross Memorial Hospital on Saturday September 8, 2OOl, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Austin Lewis Hines. Dear mother of Kenneth Ernest Hines and his wife Beatrice. Predeceased by her son Gordon Lewis Hines. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Jennifer and her husband Randy Cook, Carol and her husband Claude Beaudoin, Gordon Hines and the late Kenneth Austin Hines, and by her great granddaughter Chantalle Beaudam and by all of her family and friends. Kathaleen is survived by her sister Mary Leighton. Rested at the Armstrong Funeral Home, 124 King Street East Oshawa. Funeral service was held on Tuesday Se­tember 11, 2001 at 11 a.m. Interment Park Lawn cemetery , Toronto. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation was held on Monday from 7-9 p.m.

McLELLAN, Rev. Canon E. Hugh, B.A., L.Th., -
Suddenly at Central Park Lodge, September 8, 2001 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Gladys. Celebrated 60 years of marriage in November 2000. Loving father of Mary Ruth and her husband Nel Morrison, Jean and her husband Mike Gable, Margaret & her husband Dick Martin. He will be sorely missed by his, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a loving and caring Anglican Priest to his parishers at Trinity Church Oshawa, Trinity Church Aurora, and All Hallows Church Toronto. He also served as Chaplin at St. John’s Rehab Hospital and was a honourary assistant at St. Patrick’s until 1998. A requiem mass was celebrated on Monday September 10. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Patrick’s Anglican Church, 1087 Lillian Street Willowdale.

(Chair of Board of Directors of Sandgate Women's Shelter, Jackson's Point; retired longterm employee of Ontario Hydro). Peacefully at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket on Sunday, September 9, 2001. Diane Sarginson (nee Smith), beloved wife of John of Pefferlaw. Dear mother of Phil Davidson and his wife Kelly, and grandmother of Michelle, Phillip and Blair. Beloved daughter of Betty and the late James Smith. Brother of Barry. Stepmother of Lori and Neil and his wife Julie. A private family service will be held in the Chapel of the Taylor Funeral Home, Sutton, 905-722-3274. Donations to Sandgate Women's Shelter, P.O. Box 720, Jackson's Point, ON L0E 1L0, would be appreciated by the family.

VENNER, Stanley Emma -
Peacefully on Sunday, September 9, 2001, at the Community Nursing Home, in Port Perry, at age 93. Stanley (nee Chant), beloved wife of the late Thomas Arnold Venner of Seagrave. Loving mother of Rae Yoki of Oshawa, Tom Venner and his wife Lyn of Toronto, John Venner and his wife Eryl of Oakville, Pat Fisher of Seagrave and Beth Deleff of Omemee and predeceased by baby Nora. Loved grandmother of 19 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of George Chant of Brantford, Alan Chant of Toronto and Miriam Chant of ‘Toronto. Lovingly remembered by Martin Fisher, Gus Yaki, Dianne Venner, Barry Deleff and Dave Newman. Relatives and friends will be received at the Wagg Funeral Home, “McDermott-Panabaker Chapel”, 216 Queen Street in Port Perry on Sunday, September 16th from 1-2 p.m. A Service to celebrate the life of Stanley Venner will be held in the Chapel at 2 p.m. with Reverend John Griffen officiating. Interment Pleasant Point cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be mode by cheque to the Charity of your choice.

HOARE, Julia -
(Of Ajax and North Bay) On Saturday, September 8, 2001 at Centenary Health Centre in Scarborough, in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Major (Retd.) Harold J. Hoare. Dear mother of Judith A. Hemlow, a nurse at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg, and Dr. John H. Hoare, a chemical research scientist in Boston, Mass. Loved grandmother of Jamie (Winnipeg) and John and Michael (Lunenburg, Mass.). Sister of Fred Lucas (Penetang), June Dunbar (Scarborough), Lillian Cherry (Bath) and Donald Lucas (Barrie). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Born in Ottawa February 8, 1927, the first child of William Dow and Erminie (Girard) Lucas, she grew up in Barrie, where as a teenager, she was postmaster of the Cundles P.O. She worked at the Bell in Toronto until joining the C.W.A.C. in W.W. II. She married Harold on his return from overseas, on April 20, 1946. Worked as secretary (O.T.) at Weston and Hamilton Hospitals and signal regiment Camp Borden. Later she was involved in politics, becoming constituency assistant for both the Federal and Ontario Provincial Governments. She was given the McDonald-Cartier Award at the Parliament Building (Ottawa) for her performance in the former. She served on the Ajax Nursing Board. Julia was an avid curler. She will be sorely missed by all. The family will receive friends at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday. The funeral service will be held in the chapel on Tuesday, September 11, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. Interment in Erskine cemetery. A reception will follow back at the funeral home. If so desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

HOCH, Norman Frederick -
Died peacefully in Oshawa, Ontario on September 8th, 2001, in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Laura (Foy) of Oshawa. Father of Janet and her husband Joe Torres of Morristown, New Jersey, and Charles and his wife Ruth of London, Ontario. Stepfather to Peter Anderson and his wife Christine of Summerland, British Columbia, and of Elizabeth Nielsen of Whitby, Ontario. Grandfather to Sean, Scott, Dana, and Kyle. Predeceased by his first wife, Wanda. A Memorial Service will be held next spring in Tramore, Ontario. Great aunt of Shawn Bailey and his wife Paula, Tim Bailey and his wife Claire, Warren Kimmett and his wife April, Joel Kimmett and his wife Eileen, Rebecca Cook and her husband D.J. Great great aunt of Nicole and Julia Bailey.
