PAPE, Iris -
passed away tragically as the result of an accident on Thursday, November 8, 2001. Iris, in her 31st year, beloved daughter of Lisa and Rolf. Dear sister of Tania. Love of Malcolm Heskins. Will be sadly missed by Tante Gerda and Onkel Fred. Dearly missed by her many friends, family and colleagues. Friends may call at the O'Neill Funeral Home, 6324 Main St., Stouffville, 905-642-2855, on Wednesday 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass from St. Mark's Church, 345 Gladpark Ave., on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment Stouffville cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Her warmth and generosity will be missed by all.

PORRILL, Wilfrid Patrick (Pat) -
(Retired employee of Fittings Ltd., Oshawa; Life Member of Lions Foundation of Canada; Past member of Blackstock Lions Club). Peacefully, on Thursday, November 8, 2001, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Port Perry. Pat, in his 91st year. Will be sadly missed by his wife Jean of 52 years. His son Dan (Heather) of Baytree, Alta., daughter Kay (Dr. Larry Hurren) and son Ray (Elizabeth) of Oshawa. His grandchildren Matt, Jill and Becky Hurren and Ericka, Adrianne, Mackenzie and Lidea Porrill. Predeceased by his brother Joe and sister Margaret. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-555S) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will he held in the chapel on Tuesday, November 13, 2001 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Pat to a favourite Charity would be appreciated.

SIMPSON, Gilbert Joseph -
Peacefully, following a lengthy illness, surrounded by his family, at
Lakendge Health-Oshawa, on Thursday, November 8th, 2001. Gilbert Joseph Simpson in his 76th year. Beloved husband and lifelong Pal of Alice, Dear father of Sandra and her husband Dean Rundie, Robert, Gilbert Jr. and his companion Sheila, Barry and his wife Jacqueline, Hotly Boyd and her companion Steve McGowan. Predeceased by his son Michael and his parents Robert and Mary. Survived by his brother Stuart. Predeceased by 3 sisters and 7 brothers. Lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren Kristin, Jennifer, Terri-Lynn, (Sterling), Brian, Camille, Ryan, Kevin, Robin and Alice. Predeceased by his grandson Joey. Dear great grandfather of Patrick, Justin, Bradley, Joshua and Anthony. Gilbert served Proudly with the Canadian Army Infantry during World War Two, and served in the Korean Conflict with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. He was a member of Branch 43, Royal Canadian Legion, Oshawa. Memorial Donations to the V.O.N. or Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated.

THOMAS, Gordon Harold -
passed away peacefully, on November 8, 2001, at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa, in his 67th year. He was born in Ottawa and worked for A&P Warehouse, Etobicoke for 35 years. Gord, dearly beloved husband of Bridget; loving father of Heather and Danny; step-father to Roy, Gary, Tom, Gerri and Willena; proud grandfather of Susan; brother to devoted sisters Betty and Eleanor. Very special uncle to many nieces and nephews and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gord's parents George and Susan and brother Kenny predeceased him. At Gord's request there will be no viewing, and a memorial for family and close friends will be held 4 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2001 at W.C. Town Funeral Chapel in Whitby. Cremation with interment in Uxbridge at a later date. Gord will be remembered as a warm, sensitive family man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Gord's family would like to thank family doctor, Dr. Brian St. John and the staff of Lakeridge Health Uxbridge, Dr. Paul Hacker and the staff of Markham-Stouffville Hospital, doctors and nurses at both York Central and Lakeridge Health Oshawa, who attended and cared for him. He received the best of care at all these hospitals. If desired, donations to Diabetes Association would be appreciated in lieu of flowers.-

Frances, loving wife of Carl of Orono. Dear mother of Craig and his wife Kim of Kingston, and Christina and her husband Rick Pearsall of Courtice. Predeceased by her parents Beatrice and Frederick Courtice, her sisters Peggy Andrews, Elsie Scand, Mari­on Abbott, Dorothy Courtice and her brothers Eric, Lloyd and Leonard Courtice. GEIST, Joachim -
passed away suddenly and much too soon on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 in his 67 year. He was the kindest, most loving husband and father that anyone could have had. Our love for our Papi will be in our hearts forever. He will be missed terribly by his loving wife Brigitte, sons Michael, Andy, daughter Sylvia and Butzi as well as the rest of his family and friends.
