Beloved husband and lifelong Pal of Alice, Dear father of Sandra and her husband Dean Rundie, Robert, Gilbert Jr. and his companion Sheila, Barry and his wife Jacqueline, Hotly Boyd and her companion Steve McGowan. Predeceased by his son Michael and his parents Robert and Mary. Survived by his brother Stuart. Predeceased by 3 sisters and 7 brothers. Lovingly remembered by his 10 grandchildren Kristin, Jennifer, Terri-Lynn, (Sterling), Brian, Camille, Ryan, Kevin, Robin and Alice. Predeceased by his grandson Joey. Dear great grandfather of Patrick, Justin, Bradley, Joshua and Anthony. Gilbert served Proudly with the Canadian Army Infantry during World War Two, and served in the Korean Conflict with the Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. He was a member of Branch 43, Royal Canadian Legion, Oshawa. passed away peacefully, on November 8, 2001, at Lakeridge Health Centre, Oshawa, in his 67th year. He was born in Ottawa and worked for A&P Warehouse, Etobicoke for 35 years. Gord, dearly beloved husband of Bridget; loving father of Heather and Danny; step-father to Roy, Gary, Tom, Gerri and Willena; proud grandfather of Susan; brother to devoted sisters Betty and Eleanor. Very special uncle to many nieces and nephews and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gord's parents George and Susan and brother Kenny predeceased him. At Gord's request there will be no viewing, and a memorial for family and close friends will be held 4 p.m., Monday, November 12, 2001 at W.C. Town Funeral Chapel in Whitby. Cremation with interment in Uxbridge at a later date. Gord will be remembered as a warm, sensitive family man and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Gord's family would like to thank family doctor, Dr. Brian St. John and the staff of Lakeridge Health Uxbridge, Dr. Paul Hacker and the staff of Markham-Stouffville Hospital, doctors and nurses at both York Central and Lakeridge Health Oshawa, who attended and cared for him.
