Peacefully at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital on December 5, 2001 in his 96th year. Beloved husband for 61 years of the late Eleanor Runnalls. Dear father of Lyn Grant and her husband George of Pinawa, Manitoba and Sandy Runnalls and his wife Jean of Oshawa, Ontario. Loving grandfather of Carol of Dryden, Don of Winnipeg, Lynn of Oshawa, and Stephen of Sudbury, and great-grandfather of five. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario in mathematics and physics, Howard taught in Wallaceburg for two years, and then at Timmins High and Vocational School from 1934 to 1968, where he became vice-principal in 1949. Howard and Eleanor moved to Oshawa in 1983. A private family service will be held at a later date.
