It is with great sadness that the family announces Brian’s sudden passing on Saturday, July 27th, 2002, in his 51st year, as the result of an accident in Calgary, Alberta. Loving husband of Jo-Ann Hayden. Dear father of Courtney, Zachary and his friend Courtney Long of Markham and Ashley Sorbara and her fiancé Joe Drury of Guelph. Loving Grandfather of Amber, Griffen, Pen and Taryn. Dear son of the late Emily Hayden of Guelph. Survived by his father Russell Hayden of Brooklin and predeceased by his step mother Dorothy. Brother of Susan Bennett, Linda (Ron) Gregorcic, Sharon (Jim) Heffering, Rusty (Brenda) Hayden, Ed (Laurie) Hayden, Pam (Brad) Maarse and Pat (Gerry) Hanson. Lovingly remembered by his father-in-law Tom Bryant and mother-in-law Lorraine Bryant. Beloved mother of Heather and her husband Ross MacWhirter, Michael Miller and his wife Danielle Morin, Beecher Miller and his fiancee Amanda Wheatle, and Jeanie and her husband Jeff Chassels. Dear grandmother of Dominic, Anthony, Angela, Lauren, and Rebecca. Helen is the youngest of ten children. Family and friends, will be received at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE “Thornton Chapel” 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Monday, July 29th from 2-4 & 7-9 P.M. McDANIEL, Larry-
At Sunnybrook Veterans Hospital on Friday, JuIy 26, 2002 at the age of 19. Beloved, husband of the late Olive. Loving father of Sharon Meechan, Marlaine Nash, David McDaniel and Larry McDaniel. Proud grandfather of 8 and great grandfather of 4. Missed by many other family members and friends. Mr. McDaniel will be resting at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, on Sunday, July 28 from ito 9 p.m. A Service in the Chapel on Monday, July 29 at 1:30 p.m. Cremation. Loved father of Stephanie and her husband Greg Allard, Sandra Shields, Janice and her husband Tim Rice, and John Shields Jr. Rested at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905 985-2171). Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate the life of John Shields at 12 Gander Drive in Scarborough on Saturday, August 10th from 1 - 4 p.m. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Parkinson Foundation of Ontario.

It is with great sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Helen Webster on July 26, 2002 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 65th year. Survived by Bill, her husband and sweetheart of 42 years, her beloved children Janice (Rob), Michael (Esther), and Gillian (Jeff), her cherished grandchildren Aaron, Jordan and Jessica. Helen will be sadly missed by brother Jim (Rita), and nieces Maureen and Lorraine. We will all feel her loss more than words can express. A Service will be held at the W.C. Town Funeral Chapel, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, on Sunday, July 28, 2002 at 3 p.m. Visitation one hour prior to Service. Cremation.

On July 25, 2002 at the Lakeridge Health Centre. Dora Gabourie, of Oshawa (formerly of Wooler), in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the Late Fred. Loving mother of Fred. Jr. and Sandra Scott of Oshawa and Peter of Wooler. Loved grandmother of Lori Chapel & her husband Joe, Karen Pelzowski & her husband George, Cathy, John & his wife Lisa, and Paul & his wife Anne and 9 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Predeceased by her sister Bessie Knox (Dobbins) and brothers Jimmy & Peter Dobbins. Also remembered by Donna Gabourie. Friends are invited to call at the Weaver Family Funeral Home (East Chapel) 29 Bay St., Trenton on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Alphonsus Church, Wooler on Monday July 29, 2002 at 11 a.m. Father G. McMahon officiating. Interment Codrington R.C. cemetery. As expressions of sympathy donations to the St. Alphonsus Church (Codrington R.C. cemetery ) or CWL St. Alphonus would be appreciated by the family.

RICHTER, Waltraut -
At her home in Goodwood, on July 25th, 2002. Waltraut passed away peacefully with her family by her side in her 86th year. She was predeceased by her husband Otto Richter (1991). She is survived by her beloved daughter Christel Caligiuri of Unionville, and sons Conrad of Uxbridge, Otto of Whitby, Herbert of Scarborough, and Volkman of Vancouver. She will also be sadly missed by her nine grandchildren Sandra, Max, Eric, Danielle, Alison, Corinne, Emma, Kofi, and Frederick. Waltraut was born in Germany in 1917 and came to Canada in 1953. She co-founded Richters Herbs with her husband Otto in 1967 in Locust Hill, Ontario. The business moved to Goodwood in 1975 where it has flourished into a worldwide mail order herb nursery. Known as the 'Herb Lady', she appeared on numerous radio and television programs, as well as being featured in many newspaper and magazine articles. Waltraut was a great believer in growing organic foods and healthy lifestyles. Waltraut was the president of Richters Herbs since 1991. Visitation will be held on Monday, July 29th, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at Low & Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street South, Uxbridge. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 30th at 11:00 a.m. at Low & Low. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Nature Conservancy of Canada (1-877-343-3532).

RYAN, Gregory Patrick -
passed away on Thursday, July 25th, 2002 at the Ajax-Pickering Hospital in his 74th year. Survived by his daughters Valerie and her husband Jim Davidson, Heather and her husband Tom Riggs and Michele Ryan; grandchildren Cynthia (Davidson) and her husband Aissa Benaicha, Scott, Ashlee and Gregory Riggs. Also left behind are his sisters Peg, Tessie, Ida, Luvie, Vange, Vicky, Marilyn, Dolores and Shirley. Predeceased by his 6 brothers. Friends will be received at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1051 Brock Road, Pickering, Ontario, on Sunday, July 28th from 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow in the chapel. Cremation.

Loving mother of Marie and George Lemere, Barb and Doug Mack, Audrey and Richard Kasza and Marg and John Gates. Will be sadly missed by her grandchildren Michael and Robert; Jamie and Ryan; Derek, John and Aaron and great grandchildren. Survived by her sisters Angie and Jean. At Lakeridge Health, Bowmanville on Wednesday, July 24, 2002 in her 58th year. Doreen, beloved wife of the late George Cameron. Loving mother of Cindy, Kim and her husband John Popowich and Mark. Loving Nana to Brandon, Alexis, Jonathan, Kristy, Heather and Cassandra. Fondly remembered by her extended family of brothers, sisters and in-laws. Friends were received at the Morris Funeral Chapel, 4 Division Street, Bowmanville on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. Funeral service was held in our Chapel on Friday at 1 p.m. Cremation. Donations made in Doreen's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

At Hillsdale Manor, Oshawa on July 24th, 2002 in her 76th year. Survived by sister Regna Scott and her husband Bill and Brother-in-law Jim Mackey. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and their families. Predeceased by parents Tom and Peg Sloan and sister Joyce Mackey. A private family service was held on Friday July 26th, 2002 followed by interment at GROVESIDE cemetery , Brooklin. Arrangements were entrusted to W.C. Town Funeral Chapel 110 Dundas St. E., Whitby.
