Lloyd Henry Wedge - 01/04/2006

Peacefully passed away at 11:50 pm on January 1, 2006 at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, beloved husband of Helen Wedge (nee MacKay). He is survived by his sister Joan Vranic (Joseph), brother Ernest (Anne-Marie), sister-in-law Betty (the late Raymond) and several nieces and nephews. Lloyd was a WW II veteran, a graduate of St. Thomas University, NB, taught high school at St. Thomas and a graduate of St. Xavier University, Antigonish, NS. He was a veteran of T.C.A. and Air Canada, and a retired director of Air Canada in Postal Affairs in headquaters in Montreal and Ottawa. Friends may attend a memorial service at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Ave (corner of Richmond Rd) on Thursday, January 5, 2006 at 1 pm. Interment in Moncton, NB at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated. We wish to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Civic Hospital for all their care and sympathy.

Gordon Morrison Wright - 01/17/2006

Peacefully in hospital on January 16, 2006 in Ottawa, Gordon Morrison Wright, age 91. Son of the late Alonzo Wright and Elizabeth Smith. Loving husband of Mary Louise Barnes and predeceased by his first wife Helen Connelly. Survived by his two sons Keith Edward (Pearl) and Lyle James (Sue). Cherished grandfather of Scott Gordon (Jennifer) and great-grandfather of Lilly and Connor. He is survived by his sister Gladys McCann. Predeceased by brothers William, Alonzo, George, Charles, Harry and Keith and sisters Muriel, Jane, Nellie and Lillian. There will be no visitation. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Luke's Anglican Church, 760 Somerset Street West on Friday, January 20, 2006 at 11am. Final committal will take place in the Spring at Willowbank cemetery in Gananoque. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.

June 27, 1922- January 17, 2006 Loving husband of Barbara nee Ferguson. Peacefully at The Garry J. Armstrong Home, with his devoted wife of 35 years by his side. Will be sadly missed by Barbara and her many nieces and nephews. No visitation at the request of the family. Funeral service will be held Friday, January 20 at 1pm in the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 315 McLeod St. Reception to follow. Many thanks to the staff of The Garry J. Armstrong Home for the loving care Adam received in the last 6 years both at the new building and at Allan House. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to The Island Lodge Fanily Council, 200 Island Lodge Rd, Ottawa K1N 5M2

Donald Jackson Adams - 02/08/2006

Peacefully at Carlingview Manor on February 8, 2006, at the age of 81; beloved husband of the late Elfriede Adams and dear Dad of Marion (Norman) of Ottawa. He is survived by his sister Virginia (John) of Winnipeg and his brother Ross of California as well as relatives in Germany. The family would like to thank the staff of the 8th floor for their dedicated and thoughtful care and support. By request there will be no service. Private interment of the urn at the National Military cemetery at Beechwood cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Peacefully on Sunday February 5, 2006, surrounded by his family, age 87 years. Beloved husband of Peggy of Kanata. Dear father of Joan McComas (Kevin), Kanata; Stephen, Toronto; Brian (Bev), Kanata; Ken (Linda), Newmarket and Karen Francis (Larry), Vancouver. Cherished Grandpa of Kay, Paul, Ken; Michael, Matthew, James; Kathryn, Julie, Kristen; Calen and Christopher. Also survived by five sisters Amelia Howe (Vern), Irene Armbruster, Hedy Morgan (Jack), Mildred Leadabrand (Ray), Gloria Farnon (Brian) and one brother Arnold (Diane). Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, Ottawa Thursday 4 - 6 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2006 at Glen Cairn United Church, 140 Abbeyhill Drive (at Old Colony Rd.), Kanata at 3 p.m. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated by the family.

Elsie Baker - 02/13/2006

After a brief illness in hospital, February 12, 2006, at the age of 91. Predeceased by her husband Harry. Dear mother of Melvyn, Polly (Jack Moran), and Ron (Gail). Loving grandmother of Tammy (Ken Abram), Paula (Tom Leroux), Joanne, Adam (Erin), Lenora (Evan Zelikovitz), Andrew Levitan, Mark Levitan (Leigh), and Jennifer. Will be sorely missed by eight great-grandchildren. Funeral, Tuesday, February 14th at 2 p.m. in the Chapel at the New Jewish Community cemetery in Osgoode. Shiva 7 to 9 p.m. at 40 Jack Aaron Drive. In lieu of flowers, donations to Elsie Baker Endowment Fund at Hillel Lodge (728-3900) would be appreciated. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.

At the Hospice at May Court on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at the age of 80. Beloved husband of Joan for 45 years. Loving father of Ian (Sandra) and Gail Baker-Gregory (John Schmeler) and grandfather of Andrew Hill. Brother of Stuart Crooks (Teresa Derouin), Heather Mills (Gilbert Maxwell) and Sam Crooks (of England). Long time member of the Optimist Club of Nepean and member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch 638. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue (at Richmond Road) on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Memorial Service will be hled in the Chapel on Saturday, February 18, 2006 at 1 p.m. Interment Capital Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers , donations to the Hospice at May Court or flowers, donations to the Hospice at May Court or the Palliative Care Outreach Program would be appreciated.

Stefan Stanislaw, PhD. Bandrowski - 02/08/2006

Gave up his spirit on Sunday, February 5th, 2006 in Masham, Quebec, in his 88th year. Mourned by his loyal wife of nearly 58 years, Wanda Rowicka and by his loving children Andrzej (Danielle), Krzysztof and Teresa. Dear dziadzio of Emma (Jay), Frances (Dave), Adam and Charlotte. Survived by his brother Heniek (Marysia) and many nieces and nephews in England, Poland and Canada. Predeceased by his brother Jerzy, sisters Halina and Irena, and his beloved son Wojtek. He survived two terrible years as a political prisoner in the Siberian Gulag to join Ander s Army in Palestine, traveling through the Middle East and Africa to join the Polish Air Force division of the RAF in England in 1942, serving as Lieutenant. A life-long love of nature and especially of forests brought him to Canada in 1953, where he fell in love with and settled in the Gatineau Hills. He worked for 35 years as senior economic advisor in forestry research with the Department of the Enviroment. He leaves behind a living legacy of the many trees he planted everywhere he lived. Funeral will be held at St. Hyacinth s Roman Catholic Church, 201 Lebreton Street North, on Saturday, February 11th, 2006 at 10am.

Peacefully on Tuesday February 7, 2006. Beloved husband of Shirley (Grafman) Barrett. Loving father of Stacey (Serge Coucke), Aron and Stephanie Barrett. Cherished Zaida of Sarah, Adam (Meaghan), Samantha and great-grandfather of Nicholas and Cameron. Uncle Jack will be sadly missed by his many nieces and nephews. A Funeral Service will be held at the Jewish Memorial Chapel, 1771 Cuba Avenue on Thursday, February 9, 2006 at 11 a.m. Interment Jewish Community cemetery , Bank Street, Ottawa. Shiva private. Those wishing may make donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. Arrangements in care of the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry.
