Peacefully with family by her side at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa on Tuesday, August 10, 2004, in her 83rd year. Dearly beloved wife of the late James Alfred Patrick. Loving mother of Patricia Day, Shirley Kedzierski and her husband George, Wayne and his wife Maxine, daughter-in-law Marilyn and the late Jim. Cherished grandmother of Hilary, Megan; David, Michael, Wayne Jr., Jeremy, Zachary, Amy and Elliot; Jimmy, Michelle and great-grandmother of Corin, Echo, Jessica and Jordan. Friends may call at KNOX PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH (147 Simcoe St. N., Oshawa) for visitation on Thursday, August 12th from 10 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 11 o'clock. Born December 2, 1911 in Darlington Township, Ontario. At Strathaven Life Care Centre, Bowmanville on Tuesday, August 10, 2004. Sister of Elsie Gilroy, Strathaven Life Care Centre, Bowmanville and the late Edythe Abernethy, Frederick Samis and Donald Samis. Daughter of the late Catherine (Cole) and Milton Samis. Lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews Ellen and the late Murray Van Blarcom, Kentville, Nova Scotia, Joyce and the late Donald Taylor, Solina, Ontario, Sandy (Shirley) Abernethy, Fenelon Falls, Ontario, Donna (Don) Griffin, Enfield, Ontario, Beverley (Terry) Smith, Orillia, Ontario, Albert (Diane) Samis, Vancouver, British Columbia, Stuart (Marj) Samis, Parry Sound, Ontario and Milton and Caldon Samis, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Donations to the Charity of choice would be gratefully appreciated.

STUTT, Donald Ross -
1932-2004
It is with deep sadness that Don's family announces his death at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, August 10th, 2004. Beloved husband to Gladie/Em. Devoted father to his children: Michael and his wife Debra Gates, Jayne and her husband Michael May. Proud Granpa Don to Colleen Stutt, Rachel Stutt, Christopher May and Jonathon May. Survived by his brother John, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brother Jim. Lovingly remembered by the Emerson family. Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at ST. Longtime resident of Hillsdale Manor. In her 97th year, on August 9, 2004 at Rouge Valley Health Services, Ajax. Predeceased by her husband Michael (1979) and her son John (1995). Loving "Baba" to Michael and his wife Kimberly, Tom and his wife Susan, Sandra and her husband Howard and Ann Marie. Dear "Great-Baba" to Kevin, Jason, Kelly, Adam, Ben, Chandelle, Katelyn, Daniela and Matthew. Elizabeth is predeceased by family in Slovakia.

KING, Violet Bernice (nee Quinn) -
On Monday August 9, 2004 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa with her family by her side, following a brief illness. Born in River Hebert, Nova Scotia to the late Annie and Alfred Quinn and formerly of Springhill, Nova Scotia. Predeceased by her husband Rod (Podge) King. Survived by her four children, daughter Sharon and Ron, son Jack and Darlene, daughter Valerie and Don and son Roderick and Natalie. Lovingly remembered by her 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Survived by her 3 sisters Roz, Grace and Mary. Predeceased by her 3 sisters, Lyla, Isabel and Sadie and her 5 brothers, Alfred, William, John, Frankie and Alexander. After losing her first husband, Joseph Reid, in the Springhill Mine disaster of 1958, Violet re married and moved to Oshawa where she continued to live up until the time of her death. She enjoyed playing ball and was on a team with her daughter Sharon which was coached by Sharon's husband Ron and sponsored by Violet's husband Rod - King's Lock and Key Service. She enjoyed cooking, especially making cheese biscuits for her children and grandchildren. She loved to spend time with her family, and dancing. A special thank you to Dr. Fung and the nurses on 7 main at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with funeral service in the Chapel on Thursday August 12th at 2 p.m. Interment Thornton cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Life Outreach International would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m.

KURIJ, Romana (Jeanette) -
At Hillsdale Estates on Monday August 9th, 2004, Romana Jeanette Kurij in her 79th year. Beloved wife of John (Iwan) Kurij, for 57 years. Beloved mother of Nancy Blake and her companion Paul Tribe and the late John Kurij. Survived by her daughter in law Anna Kurij. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Tanya Kurij and Anastasia and Rebecca Blake. Dear sister of Stella Burnyk and her husband Tony and the late Doris Holyk, Sylvia Dushenko and Walter Lysij. She will be sadly missed by her nieces, their families and her friends. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME 124 King Street East, Oshawa with funeral service in St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Orthodox Church on Thursday August 12 at 9:30am. Interment Union cemetery. Panachyda will be held at the funeral home Wednesday at 7pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Children of Chernobyl would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday 7-9pm.

WILKINSON, Margaret Jane -
Peacefully at her residence in Markham, Ontario on Monday August 9, 2004. Margaret Jane Bell, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Harold John Wilkinson. Loving mother of Margaret (Peggy) Cameron, Kathy, Mayme Churchward, John, Barbara, Robert (Bob), Beverley Johnson, Sheila Johnson, Nancy Key, Ross, Don, Ken, Steve, and Tom, and predeceased by daughter Doris Berrett. Lovingly remembered by 49 grandchildren and 75 great grandchildren. Funeral service at St. Timothy's Presbyterian Church (Burcher Road south of Bayly St.) Ajax on Thursday August 12, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

ZYLKA, Zbigniew "Tony" -
passed away on Monday August 9th, 2004 with his family by his side, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa, aged 48 years. Beloved only son of Konstanty and Jadwiga Zylka. Tony leaves behind family in Canada and Poland. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial in St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church on Thursday August 12th, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection cemetery. Dear brother of Anthony (Agnes), Leonard (Veronica), Dominic, Ann Conkle and the late Bronis.
