Shirley McKnight

passed away on Monday, May 6, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Wife to the late Ernie McKnight and the late Mel Allbright. Mother to Howard McKnight and Gail Meyer. Stepmother to Roger McKnight (Margaret), Joan Couperthwaite (the late Clinton), Larry Allbright (Barbara), Grant Allbright (Charmaine). Grandmother to Ann (Mark), Susan (Spencer), Cindy, Jennifer (Daryl), Ian, Damon, Nathaniel, Ernest, Isaac, Amelia, Junior, Trecey, Danielle, Dawn, Jennifer, Russell, Angie, Deanna, the late Nicholas, and Cory. Sister to Freda Appleton, Eddie Appleton (Ivy), Barbara Lohrbach (Andy), Margaret Kerek (Georgie). Great-grandmother, aunt and great-aunt to many. Donations in memory of Shirley may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association. A Celebration of Shirley’s Life will be held at a later date. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low & Low Funeral Home Uxbridge (23 Main Street South, Uxbridge, ON (905)852-3073).

Jagers, Regina

passed away peacefully with her family at her side in Cannington on May 6, 2013. Devoted companion of Hubert Joosten (Cannington). Beloved mother of Margaret (Dave Brooks, Greenbank) and Leona (Bill Hubers, Cannington). Cherished grandmother of Susan, Lynda (Peter) Brooks, Andrew, Shannon (Andrew) and Bradley Hubers. Precious “GG” to Isabella. Sister to Christina (Mt. Bridges, ON), Bets, Wim, Peter, Harry all of the Netherlands. Predeceased by sister Jaann, brothers John and Tony. Will be remembered fondly by the extended Joosten family. Visitation will take place from 2:00pm-4:00pm and 7:00pm-9:00pm on Thursday, May 9, 2013 at Low & Low Funeral Home Uxbridge (23 Main Street South, Uxbridge, ON (905)852-3073). Mass of Christian Burial to take place Friday, May 10, 2013, 11:00am at Sacred Heart Catholic Church (70 Toronto Street North, Uxbridge, ON (905)852-6944). Interment to follow at Uxbridge cemetery. Bond, Victoria

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Victoria Gladys Bond on Sunday, May 5, 2013 in her 83rd year. A loving wife and best friend of Lance for 61 years. A caring and loving mother to Derrick(Wendy) and Dan, A devoted Nana to Patricia (Jordan), Heather (Zack), and Granny to Shawn. She was also the proud Great-Nana Bond to Wyatt and Clinton. Victoria was predeceased by her siblings Anne, Mary, Max, Tillie, and Pearl. She will be missed by her sister and brother-in-law Kay and Preston Brander. Family and friends will be received at Low & Low Funeral Home Uxbridge (23 Main Street South, Uxbridge, ON (905)852-3073) for visitation on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 1:30pm-2:30pm. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 2:30pm followed by interment at Uxbridge cemetery. A Celebration of Life reception will be held following the interment at 31 Silverspring Cres., Uxbridge, ON. If so, desired, donations in memory of Victoria may be made to the Canadian Arthritis Society.

SWAGA Russell

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Russell peacefully on May 1st 2013 at Roberta Place Long Term Care facility in Barrie, Ontario. Born Jan 2nd 1932 in Toronto, Ontario. Beloved husband of Melva (nee Madill). Russ is also survived by his four loving children: Sandi (Rick), Sue (Heinz), Mike, and Russell Bradley (Natalie). Dear brother of Victor (Gail), he is predeceased by sisters Anna (George) and Stella (Ted) and brothers Alex (Ethel) and John (Victoria). Also predeceased by son-in-law Doug Johnston (Sandi) and daughter-in-law Pam (Michael). Dearly missed by grandchildren: Holly, Kiirsten, Adam, Nicole, Scott, Kalyna, and Yuri. With heartfelt thanks to the kind and compassionate staff of Roberta Place for their extraordinary care that went above and beyond. A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 11th 2013 at 12 noon at Foster Memorial cemetery (RR1), Uxbridge, Ontario. A reception will follow the service at Low & Low Funeral Home (23 Main St. South, Uxbridge, ON (905)852-3073. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Trillium Gift of Life or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Snell, Natalie Elizabeth (nee Hegan)

passed away in the night on May 4, 2013 at home in Port Perry where she and her husband Robert Snell lived for the past 5 years. She will be missed greatly by her husband, daughters Shelley and Jillian, son-in-law Alex and grandson Evan. Born in Bass River, Nova Scotia in 1935, Natalie left us one week before her 78th birthday. Natalie was the daughter of Sadie and Roland Hegan; she is survived by her beloved sister Jean in Economy, NS and her brother Arthur in Victoria, BC and was sister to William, Glendeane and Don, all deceased. Natalie spent her life as an RN, practicing in NS, BC and Ontario. She loved to care for people and ironically required a lot of care in her last years due to debilitating bone and joint disease. Many years ago, Natalie fell victim to osteoporosis and osteoarthritis which eventually became her undoing. She soldiered on for many years despite the endless pain and maintained her dry sense of humour throughout. Natalie was a lover of music (especially old time fiddle music indigenous to her home province), cottage life, boating and animals and will be missed by her treasured terrier Bailey. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Natalie Snell will be held at Low & Low Funeral Home (1763 Reach Street, Port Perry, Ont. L9L 1A6 (905) 985-7331) on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception at the funeral home. Twyman, Freda

passed away at her home in Port Perry with her loving husband by her side on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at the proud age of 92. Freda Twyman dearly beloved wife of Harry Twyman and predeceased by Joe Tran (1971). Loving mother of Carolyn Tran, Betty Jeanne (Hank) Hall, Bob (Barb) Tran, Bill (Penny) Tran, Jim Tran, Cathy (Joe) Gibson, and Christine Tran (Paul). Dear grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 13 1/2 great grandchildren. Freda will be sadly missed by her many friends. Family and friends will be received at the Low and Low Funeral Home 1763 Reach Street, Port Perry (905) 985-7331 on Friday April 26, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Memorial Service to include a Rebekah Lodge Service to celebrate the life of Freda will be held in the chapel on Saturday, April 27, 2013 at 11a.m. with a reception to follow at the funeral home. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association, or Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated.

Maschke, Dale (Freddy)

passed away at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Peterborough on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the age of 58. Dale Maschke loving brother of Deb, Dann, David, Darlene, Doug, Mary Lou, Chris and Susan. Dale will be sadly missed by all his family and friends. Family and friends will be received at the Greenbank United Church, on Saturday April 20, 2013 from 12 to 2 p.m. A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dale will be held at the Greenbank United Church, Saturday at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow at the church. Entered into rest on Sunday, April 14, 2013 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital in his 89th year. Len beloved husband to Vera Brazier. Dear father to John (Trudy), Marilyn (Jim), Carolyn (Andrew), and Dawna (Reg). A service to celebrate Len’s life will be held at the Low & Low Funeral Home Uxbridge (23 Main Street South, (905)852-3073) on Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at 2:00pm in the chapel. Williams, Joan Alma

passed away peacefully at her home in Port Perry on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the age of 79. Joan, beloved wife to the late Ted, dear mother to Deborah, David and his wife Jane, Dorothy (predeceased), and Brian and his wife Julie. Fondly remembered by her eleven grandchildren. Predeceased by her brother Bill and his wife Norma. A service to celebrate Joan’s life will be held at the Low & Low Funeral Home Port Perry (1763 Reach Street, (905)985-7331) on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 in the chapel at 12pm with visiting 1 hour before. Gibson, Vivian Edna

passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at Peterborough Regional Health Centre (PRHC), Peterborough on Tuesday, April 9, 2013 at the age of 81.
Vivian was married to the late Elroy N.A. Gibson for over 50 years. Loving mother of Sandra (Ken) Farr, Barry (Brenda) Gibson, Wayne (Margaret) Gibson, Muriel (Mark) Orr. Dear grandmother of Chantal, Deanna, Leanne, Jennifer, Taylor, Trevor, Nathan, Emily and Julia. Dear great grandmother to Devin, Dalton, Declan and Alyssa. Vivian was a loving sister to Gwen Epworth and Geraldine Lindsay. Vivian will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews and many friends. If desired memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be appreciated. We are thankful to the heart specialists for their sincere care and to all the nursing staff at PRHC for their kindness and support.
