Delic, Nick

passed away on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. Beloved husband of the late Emily (nee: Vranic). Loving father of Dominic and his wife Brenda and the late Peter. Devoted grandfather of Jacqueline and Michael. Sadly missed by his brother Ned and his wife Kata, and nieces Marianne, Irene, Manda and Dana. Remembered by his brother-in-laws Joe and his wife Barbara Vranic and John Vranic. A Funeral Service was held in the chapel at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S. Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Friday, March 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Interment Uxbridge cemetery. The family wishes to thank Dr. St. John, Dr. Chin and the staff at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital. In addition the family wishes to thank all of the personal support workers for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Pat and Jim Doxsee for all of their help over the past few years. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be appreciated.

Knight, Elaine Catherine

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Elaine Knight of Uxbridge on Monday, February 27, 2012 at the age of 55. A service was held for her at Low and Low Funeral Home on Sunday, March 4, 2012.
Elaine will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children Rachel and Brennen, husband Norm Barker, sisters Pam and Wendy, her golden retriever Spencer, and many other relatives, friends and yoga students. Elaine dedicated several years to working in the community with the C.O.P.E. Program, and also taught yoga for 28 years in various locations in Durham Region. Elaine was a thoughtful, generous and caring person who was always dedicated to helping others, and in doing so touched many lives. The world has truly lost a very special soul.
May the light of God surround her, May the love of God enfold her,
May the power of God protect her, May the presence of God watch over her, May Elaine find her true home and be at peace with the love of God.

Pearson, Kenneth James
WWII Veteran
September 25, 1919 – March 5, 2012

Peacefully at ReachView Village in Uxbridge on Monday, March 5, 2012 in his 92nd year with his daughter Patricia by his side. Beloved husband of the late Hazel Pearson (nee: Johnston). Loving father of Patricia and her husband Marty Holtrust of Beaverton and Russell and his wife Riina of Pickering. Loving grandfather of Jennifer and Spencer. Dear brother of Harry and his wife Nellie of Sandford and Dorothy Mitchell of Wasaga Beach. Predeceased by many brothers and sisters. A private burial has taken place at the Pine Hills cemetery in Scarborough. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Low and Low Funeral Home, Uxbridge (905) 852-3073. In lieu of flowers donations made to the M.S. Society or SickKids Hospital would be appreciated.

O’Hare, Frances Marina (nee: Browne)
November 29, 1934 – March 4, 2012

Beloved mom of Leslie, Danny and Tammy. Adored Pum of her grandchildren Sarah, Brady, Matthew and Ryan. Loving sister and best friend of Bette and Pat Adams and Monie Schepens. Mom will be missed by Claudine and Steve, Margaret and Don, Jean and Arby, Ralda and Don, many sister-in-laws, brother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and good friends. Today mom joins her parents Margaret and Richard, sisters Peg and Theresa, brother-in-laws Joe and Gene, most of all the love of her life her husband John. Now together again, we love you both rest in peace. We would like to thank Dr. Gill, Dr. Lewtas and the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital, our family and friends for your care, constant thoughts and support during this very difficult time. Wharram, Francis (Frank)

passed away peacefully at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Monday, March 5, 2012 at the age of 87. Wonderful husband of Dorothy for 58 years. Loving father of Paul & Lois, Gary & Irene and Marilyn & Graham (Elliott). Adored grandpa of Derek, Leanna, Geoffrey, Caitlin, Alex, Andrew and great grandpa of Dayton. Will be missed by his sisters Hazel and Marion and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St. S. Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. with visiting from 1-2 p.m. Reception to follow. passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Hospital in Port Perry on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the age of 81. John Croft dearly beloved husband and best friend of Eleanor Croft of Port Perry. Loving father of John and his wife Patricia. Dear grandfather of John and Jake. Predeceased by his daughter Joanne. Dear grandfather of J.J. and Samantha. Sammut, Edward Joseph
Feb 20, 1927 - Feb 25th, 2012

Peacefully, in his home in Newmarket, Ontario. Edward Sammut passed away in his 86th year. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne of 66 years. Their life together was filled with love and happiness and they cherished their many years as a couple. Ed was a loving father to; Maries, John (Nancy), Natalie (Hal), Josette (the late Juergen), David (Grace), Chris (Jane) and Alison. Ed will be remembered by his sister, Yvonne Mamo (John). He will be greatly missed by his 12 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Ed was a successful and skilled draughtsman who provided well for his family. Edward and Yvonne came to Canada from Malta in 1951 to make a new life. Many fishing trips, family picnics and gatherings were highlights in his life. He leaves behind a legacy of love and a strong sense of purpose that is rooted in family. Ed had a great sense of humour and loved to laugh and win at cards; we will all miss those shared moments. Family and friends may pay their respects at Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main St South, Uxbridge, Ontario, (905) 852 – 3073 on Monday February 27th, 2012 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St John Chrysostom Roman Catholic Church, 432 Ontario Street, Newmarket, Ontario, (905) 898 – 4137. Mass will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 28th, 2012. Burial will follow at Holy Cross cemetery. Reception to follow the burial; details will be provided at the church. Memorial donations may be made in Ed's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Alzheimer’s Society.

Entered into rest, peacefully on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 at Southlake Regional Health Centre, Newmarket. In his 88th year. Phil loving friend and companion for 32 years to Marilyn. Long time resident of Uxbridge. Dear father to Larry (deceased) and his wife Annie, Jeep and his wife Sharon, Jim and his wife Debbie and Lynette and her husband Richard. Fondly remembered by his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Julie, Cecile, Laurette and the late Yvette and brothers Paul and Peter. Resting at the Low and Low Funeral Home, 23 Main Street, South, Uxbridge (905) 852 – 3073 on Friday, February 24th, 2012 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00– 9:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass was held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 25th, 2012 from Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 70 Toronto Street, North, Uxbridge. Cremation followed. Interment of cremated remains at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic cemetery , Uxbridge. In Phil’s memory, donations may be made to Share Life.

Heaps, Patricia Kathleen

passed away at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Friday, February 17, 2012 at the age of 76. Loving wife of Bernie for 51 years. Proud mother of Susan (Robert Blakeley) and Grant. Devoted nannie of Adam, Jacob and Daniel. A memorial service was held at the Low and Low Funeral Home 23 Main St. S. Uxbridge (905) 852-3073 on Wednesday, February 22, 2012 at 2 p.m. with visiting from 12-2 p.m. A reception followed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Brown, Colleen Nora

It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Colleen Brown on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the age of 62 years. Colleen's love of life and great sense of humour never waivered throughout her courageous battle against ALS. Colleen, beloved wife and best friend of Bruce (Buie) Brown. Much loved daughter of Vera and the late John Gordon. Dear sister of Janice, John and the late Norma. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Colleen will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her family and many friends. passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at the age of 42. Son of Paul and Jackie. Brother of Dennis, Terrie, Rob and the late Fernie. Uncle of Chris, Michael, Paul and the late Ginette. Great uncle of Scarlette, Emerson, Claudia, Caiden, Claire, Maxim, and friend to many.
