George passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at the age of 83, without pain and surrounded by his family. A true gentleman to the end, He bore his tribulations with characteristic silence, no wanting to be a burden to anyone. He will be forever loved and missed by Thora, his wife of 59 years and his children Paul (Jen), Catherine, Peter (Lorna), Sean, Francine (Robert), Anne-Marie and his son-in-law Stuart. Alun Morgan
Born in Bridgend, South Wales and for the last 25 years living in Zephyr, Ontario. Alun passed away January 1st, 2012 after a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma cancer. Alun was the beloved son of the late Dewi and Hazel Morgan and brother of Hugh and David. A devoted husband to Sally and a proud and loving father to Greg (Jennifer), Dane, Holly and Luke (Nicole). Much loved son-in-law to Gwen and Les Mogford and brother-in-law to Ceri (Kevin) Mogford. Best friend of Lorie and Ron Winter and many others who delighted in his company. Alun lived his life with passion, he developed an early interest in music and performing and successfully enjoyed a career as a recording artist, playing with his band, Crys, which he formed with fellow school mates. He loved being Welsh and Canadian and was proud of being both. His passion for the outdoors and sports was only eclipsed by his tremendous love for his family and God. Alun was respected for his integrity and his ability to bring out the best in whose ever company he kept. He worked for the last 20 years in OPG (Pickering) where he developed many strong and wonderful relationships which he treasured. Never without a smile, always looking for an adventure or a problem to solve, he leaves his family and friends with many special memories. passed away at the Port Perry Hospital on Friday, December 23, 2011 surrounded by his family at the age of 67. Cherished husband of Denise for 43 years. Loving father of Keith, Grant (Allison) and Blair. Proud poppa of Kevin, Megan, Virginia, and Charlotte.
Bill started as a Canadian Tire dealer in Kirkland Lake in 1977 and was there until 1988. Bill then accepted the store in Guelph North where he stayed for 5 years, before moving to the Pickering store where he has been since 1994. Bill has always been a passionate supporter of every community he has been in, and Pickering was no exception. Bill has been involved in numerous community organizations over the years having acted as the president of the Rotary Club, chairman of the Police Commission, and president of the Chamber of Commerce, just to name a few. Bill was a supporter of the breakfast program for the Durham Nutrition Program, Denise House, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Jumpstart.
