Peacefully in her home early Wednesday morning, February 22nd, 2006. Lenore was a light to all she met. She lived life to the fullest, sharing her wonderful energy, talents, and spirit with an open heart and home. She is survived by her son George, grandchildren Kristin and Heather, and great-grandchildren Rachel, Presleigh, Britany, and Nickolas. Her grace will be cherished by all. Special thanks to Dr. Louise Coulombe and At-Home Hospice for support in her journey. A Memorial Service will be held at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Sunday, March 5th at 1pm.

Dora Schaenfield, caring, devoted and always loving mother, wife, grandmother and sister, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 20th, 2006. Predeceased by her beloved husband Sam of 69 years. Cherished and adored mother to David (Rona), Faye Helman (Moshe) and Susan Cohen(David). Beloved Bubbi Dora to her grandchildren Tamar and Gilad Helman(Lana) and Brett and Hilary Schaenfield and great-grandmother to Noah Helman. Dora will be sadly missed by her siblings Leona Silver(Label), Milton (the late Terry), Gordon (Shirley) and Millie Schaenfield ( the late Dave) and by her many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her sisters Sylvia Altschuler, Betty Gold, and brothers Dave, Joe and Arthur Viner. Graveside service will be held at the Jewish Community cemetery , Bank Street on Thursday, February, 23rd, 2006 at 1 p.m. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the dedicated staff at Hillel Lodge. Loving uncle of Dr. Jack Lehrer, Frances Spector, Ellen Bacal, Murray Bacal and Dr. Howard Bacal. Peacefully at Carleton Lodge on Friday, March 3rd, 2006 in his 83rd year. Son of the late Harold and the late Eva Serson. Brother of the late Harold Jr. (Ada and the late Barbara Hornyansky) and Elizabeth Serson (the late John A. and the late Harry Johnson). Dearly beloved husband of Margaret E. Reid (nee Peggy Garnham) and step-father to Michael, Becky (Glenn), Margaret (Bruce) and John (Ellen). Loving grandfather to Kevin, Reid, Sarah, Rachel, James and Keith. He will be sadly missed by nieces Terry, Robin, Karen and nephew Ragnar and many cousins in the area. Paul started his career at the Dominion Observatory and became Director of the Division of Geomagnetism, Department of Energy, Mines and Resources. He and his colleagues developed the Airborne Magnetometer and many other scientific inventions. Paul was also a great lover of music and played violin and viola taking part in many community quartets. Paul retired in 1981 and spent the last 6 years of his life in a nursing home. Our heartfelt thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Carleton Lodge. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Saturday, March 11th, 2006 from 12 noon until Service Time in the Chapel at 2 p.m. Reception to follow.
