George Sven Anderssen - 03/04/2006

Retired Teacher Ottawa School Board
Peacefully at Perley Rideau surrounded by family on Friday, March 3rd, 2006 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Valerie Wilmot and the late Jean Anderson. Loving father of Joy (Peter), Virginia (Ron), Gail (Mike) and Carol (Peter). Grandpa A will be sadly missed by all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Sven retired from teaching at Ottawa Tech, Gloucester, and McArthur High Schools to farm in the Kemptville area. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street, on Wednesday, March 8th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A tribute to Sven s life will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 1 p.m. Fellowship to follow. For those wishing, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society.

Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, March 13, 2006 at 10am. Private Cremation. For those wishing donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.

passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the age of 90. Born in London, England on November 13, 1915. Veteran WWII, Sergeant A.A. Section of The Royal British Artiliery and Airborne Parachute Regiment. Landings in Africa, Sicily, Italy, Normandy. Captured at Arnhem. Loving husband of Pearl (nee Hill). Dear father of Diamond (David Rueter). Fondly remembered by his grandson Tyrone. Friends may visit at the St. Laurent Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 1200 Ogilvie Road at Aviation Parkway on Saturday, March 18, 2006 from 11am until service time in the chapel at 1pm. Interment Beechwood cemetery.

Annie Amelia (nee Smart) Bretzloff - 03/07/2006

Peacefully on Monday, March 6, 2006 in her 91st year. Daughter of the late Wellington Smart and the late Lucy Eades. Predeceased by her beloved husband Gilbert Bretzloff in 1985. She will be deeply missed but not forgotten by the many people who loved her. Loving mother of Phillip of Calgary, Carol (David) Holmes of Clarendon, Qc., Sylvia (Peter Robb) of Breckenridge, Qc. Cherished grandmother of Joseph, Kathleen, Phillip, Rebecca and Laura. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Amelia was a graduate of MacDonald College; Bishop s University and received her MA in English from the University of Ottawa. Her teaching career began in a one-room schoolhouse in Schwartz, Qc., and continued for 36 years. She taught in Granby, Qc., at Aylmer High School and Philemon Wright High School. In 1967, she was awarded the Order of Scholastic Merit for Outstanding Teaching in the Province of Quebec. Her enduring legacy as a teacher can be found in the many students who remember her fondly as a wonderful educator and mentor. After retirement she wrote about Canadian literature for the Equity Newspaper in Shawville, Qc. Amelia was also an active and dedicated member of St. Peter s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Special thanks to the staff at Riverpark Retirement Residence for their care and compassion. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue and Richmond Road on Friday, March 10, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at St. Peter s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 Sparks Street on Saturday, March 11, 2006 at 10 a.m. followed by interment at Zion Lutheran Church cemetery , Schwartz, Qc. .

Peacefully in hospital on Monday March 6, 2006 in his 75th year. Loving father of Maureen Campbell, Dave (Bev), Gord, Brenda, Heather (Jacques Lane) and Rob. Cherished grandfather of James, Jessica, Ceri, Andrew, Tami, Jessica and Vicki and two great-grandchildren Chance and Devon. Dear brother of Laurence (Florence). Predeceased by his sister Mary Brown and four brothers George (Ellen), Christopher, John (Colleen) and James. Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod St. on Friday March 10, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday March 11 at 12:30p.m. Interment at St. Francis Xavier cemetery , Renfrew in the spring.

Esteemed grandfather of Richard, David, Andrew, Michael and Thomas Kahler of Ottawa and Craig, Christopher and Lindsay Carman of Victoria. Poppa, you were always there for us. Brother of Millar and the late Willard MacMillan, Friends may visit a the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair and McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road on Wednesday, March 8th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, March 9th at 12noon. Daughter of William Ferguson and Mayme MacDonald. Sister of Sewell (Edda), Owen (Noreen), the late Sally and the late Leonard. Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Friends may visit at the West Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 150 Woodroffe Avenue at Richmond Road, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Woodroffe United Church, 207 Woodroffe Avenue, on Saturday, March 11th at 11 a.m. Interment Morewood cemetery in the Spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Christian Horizons or Woodroffe United Church.
